I was there for marriage counseling and the session went well. And I am still working on it. Its extremely hard we only had the one session but I was pleased with it..
I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder in my twenties and BP II in my thirties. The social anxiety was treatable with medication (Clonazepam). My bipolar II diagnosis came after a long bout with depression where I found that most medication had either zero effect or an adverse effect on me, this is when I first tried psychotherapy. Following my fathers death I went through an extended hypomanic episode which led to a debilitating crash. I sought help and found Melissa Cramer / Grow Heal Love. Not every therapist will be the right one for you, I was very lucky to find Melissa Cramer. Our weekly sessions usually began with mindfulness training, a guided meditation that allowed me to be more present for talk therapy. I have had therapists turn me down as a client because “I may be disruptive” being bipolar and a sundry list of other absurdities. My BP disorder was a non-issue with Melissa. Yes, some days I may be racing a bit and talking a mile a minute or be a bit down but I always felt calm and centered after each session. Ms Cramer’s demeanor is the same when seeing me manic or depressed which I came to really appreciate, it’s a mood disorder not a death sentence. I feel a debt of gratitude to Melissa Cramer as through our sessions I am teaching again, making art and embarking on a new business endeavor.
You know, I actually enjoyed the sequence of counseling with Mr. Clark. He was very organized, he kept it real with my wife and I, and he held back no punches! I was pretty hesitant about it because I had doubts about someone telling me how to work my marriage, but it turned out to be nothing as I imagined!! He was very honest, understanding and even had me to evaluate somethings that only I would chat about with a sip of wine! I would totally recommend this guy to anyone in need of counseling to better there marriage. 3 thumbs up to this guy!!
I have worked with many life coaches/therapist type people, and have struggled to find the person I gel with. Kezia seems to really get it - she is so kind and understands my sensitive nature and helps me work through some very challenging topics in a gentle and loving way. After each session I feel a sense of relief - I know there is more work to be done, but I have someone who is completely on my team and understands what I am going through. She is very thoughtful with her words, and gives me the freedom to talk about what I want to discuss, while still giving guidance and an intuitive perspective. She is just a genuine soul!
My husband and I really enjoy having Amanda as our Marriage Counselor. She is relatable and serve as a neutral person for my husband and I. We will be having our 3rd session soon. Thanks so much for working with us and being available to come to our home. Really looking forward to continuing to work with her.
My fiancee and I attended Greater Works for counseling services and I have been literaly awakened to what my role is in my relationship as a man ! Intialy I was totally against going to counseling because I felt that female counselors were bias and i felt that I could read the proper information from books to make me a better husband. Well I get the best of both worlds. She recommends great books and I gain her wisdom personally. Dr. Lee has changed my entire perspective of female counselors ! Every time we attend we receive love, hope, and wisdom from Dr. Lee. I highly recommend Greater Works to anyone who desires to have better in there life, marriage and mishaps. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
She is amazing! An absolute blessing to our marriage. Recommend! Recommend! Recommend!
I attended a marriage class led by Darlene with my husband at our church. Although husbands and wives attended some parts together, we also broke into women only discussions where Darlene shared from her own personal experiences. She was honest, non-judmental and encouraging. She also helped me personally outside of class with some issues in my own marriage. She offers godly, Bible-centered advice in helping you live the victorious life God means for you to live.
No review can ever completely describe the transformation you can give your life when teaming up with Aria. After 6 months of letting my mind torture me with the "what ifs" about my relationships, I knew this was not me and I needed help to snap out of it. After first visiting a therapist who in the second session was already mentioning medication, I knew that I was in the wrong place. I finally got fed up and luckily accidentally chanced upon Aria. Eventually I discussed my problems with her and something just felt so very right. With only my first session, it was like night and day the way my mind was processing information. I have continued with additional sessions, because there is no price you can put on my sanity. Beyond my immediate reason for seeking sessions, Aria has awoken my need to get in even further touch with my mind, body and soul, which is why I have now joined her meditation classes to help in my new journey. I strongly urge anyone considering sessions to do it! It will be the best decision you ever make for yourself!
Rev Linney officiated our wedding in San Francisco, CA. He also provided pre-marital counseling sessions. I didn't know what to expect with the counseling sessions. My only thought was that they would probably feel a little forced. That was not the case at all. They were real, genuine, and helped my (now) husband and I pull everything together in terms of things we had talked about, and things we had just implicitly thought. I enjoyed the counseling sessions, and also how Rev Linney officiated our wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony, and our families just loved meeting him and getting to know him. Since the wedding (we've almost been married 2 years), we've had a couple counseling sessions with Rev Linney. Not because things were "wrong," but because we are new to this marriage thing and just wanted to talk with someone about where we are. They were great sessions and Rev Linney provided a listening ear and wonderful perspective. I would recommend Rev Linney for counseling and wedding officiating.
Working with George was an extremely enjoyable experience. My fiance and I made a handful of visits with him in advance of our wedding date. He was a fantastic listener and made us feel very comfortable throughout each of the visits. Without a doubt, we feel our time with him was beneficial in so many ways. I would absolutely recommend him to friends (and strangers!) who might be seeking a form of premarital counseling, and we look forward to paying him a visit him in the future for continued guidance in our marriage. Thank you, George!
Claudine: Our marriage went through a terrible storm after we had our second child. I was sick for almost 2 years. Our intimacy was down and we couldn't communicate very well without having argument. We got to a point where we thought our marriage would end up in a divorce, we lost trust from each other and our relationship with God was no longer strong. We haven’t believed in sharing our concerns about marriage to other people, therefore we have closed all windows that could lead us in getting help. One day, my husband has just decided to get out of that inner cycle we were in and dared to call Dr. Erick Miguel to request a couple counseling. Dr. Erick with his wife accepted and decided to help us. We are very thankful to God for bringing this couple to us! They have been very good listeners. Through their experience we learned a lot, we have rebuilt our relationship with God, they kept us in their prayers day and night. Now we are in love to each other like never before and our relationship with God has been renewed. Yves: Dr. Miguel Poaty and his wife Pastor Deborah have been helping a lot of people around us. We heard other couples testifying about how God used them to restore their intimacy. I personally admired their couple, I have always asked myself why this couple always seem to be happy and successful in their marriage? Dr. Miguel is always happy. I always wonder if his wife had something she does in particular that makes this man look always put and enjoying his life, that’s why I decided to give him a call, to find out what was it that they were doing to make their marriage something enjoyable? And that was the most important call I have ever made in my entire life. Today, I see myself as happy as I use to see Dr. Erick Miguel, truly because my wife surely has learnt a lot from Pastor Deborah Poaty. This couple has been a great blessing for us. We thank God for leading them to us. My wife and I are blessed to have such people as our close friends.
Lucie Knapp helped me tackle multiple issues during our work together which went on for about five years. She counseled and supported me on the many issues involved with my food addiction and binge eating disorder. She served as a coach both in person and in phone calls, teleconferences and emails. She always made herself available as a source of support. When I decided to change careers, she helped me in a very challenging transition from leaving a job of over ten years in order to return to school and pursue a new path. She is insightful, attentive, and supportive. She has a vast understanding of many challenges we all face in life. She listens and guides without pushing her own agenda which is a gift when it comes to social workers, therapists and life coaches. She is incredibly resourceful in suggesting books, workbooks and assignments to help in the goals you are trying to accomplish in life. Most importantly she provides a safe space and an understanding, encouraging presence which is what is needed to accomplish your goals, regardless of what they are. I highly suggest her for whatever you're trying to accomplish from weight loss to anxiety management to mindfulness to career changing/transitions.
