Bryant is an outstanding personal trainer. He has pushed me way beyond what I thought my body was capable of. He comes up with unique but highly effective workouts so I never know what to expect but I can always count on them pushing me past my limits each time. My personal training experience with Bryant has given me so much confidence not only in the physical results I have seen but also mentally each time I reach a goal we have set together.

I’ve been training with Aaron for five months. He is the fourth trainer with whom I have worked over the past few years and the first to whom I have committed two sessions per week. He is smart and experienced. He is attentive and invested in my success. He sees improvement when I can’t and offers encouragement when I feel uninspired. He reminds me of my personal achievements and celebrates them in his gentle way. I've already achieved more than I thought I would! Aaron designs training sessions that are challenging, and he has high expectations for success. He changes up the workouts regularly and remains tuned into my personal goals. He is aware of my physical limitations as he pushes and pushes. Aaron ensures that my form and technique are correct and works diligently to help me avoid mistakes. He is flexible and willing to meet outside the gym to accommodate my needs and the demands of my personal life. I highly recommend Aaron. He is truly loyal, trustworthy, and dependable. I plan to sign up for at least six more months. I’ve got more goals to reach and am confident that Aaron is the trainer to help me realize them.

I had a great experience working with DeMarcus Brooks. Starting out, he made sure he understood my primary goals and I understood his way of training. He was very creative and knowledgeable. For every training session, he designed a unique and effective workout plan which have helped me to progress and to gain lots of strength. DeMarcus was extremely motivating and encouraging to stay focused and determined to reach to my goals. He was definitely a professional personal trainer and a joy to be around. I highly recommend him to anyone who’s seeking quality and professionalism.

I have met with Linda on multiple occasions as I am in the process of making a career change. The first time we met we went over resume writing, and with her help and guidance we put together a new and updated Professional resume. The second time we met was for Career Coaching. Even though I am of the age group of millennials, I have no experience in using the internet in reference to job searching and networking. She was very influential in helping me make a LinkedIn account as well as an account with Indeed and uploading my resume. She has even offered to help me with role playing interview questions once i get an interview. With her guidance, this entire job searching process has been a lot less stressful. She has even helped my wife with Career Coaching and Resume Writing. My wife has said over and over that Linda's interview prep was harder than the interview itself. We would recommend Linda to anyone who is looking for help with finding a new job.

I had Derrick as my personal trainer for roughly a year or so when I was 18 years old. I had no knowledge regarding physical training despite being psychically active and playing sports growing up. Derrick took me to that next level. Wanting to gain muscle, overall size, and general knowledge, Derrick offered all the pieces to do so. He covered proper eating & diet habits, proper form when working out, and explained the many exercises to help me achieve my goals. Three years later now, I can thank Derrick for creating that solid foundation which has led to my passion for fitness.

During our sessions, Nick has provided fitness training that strengthened my body as well as my mind. There were always new skills being developed while lifting weights, which included improving body form to ultimately creating various methods for overcoming bad habits. For instance, I never knew how to run until I started training with Nick; I would “jog” for twenty seconds and be completely out of breath. After one year of training with Nick, I have since completed a total of three 5k’s and even won a race to the top is Stone Mountain! Overall, the prize takeaway is the lifestyle change that occurs naturally. The reality is knowledge is key in everything we do, including exercise. Having a trainer that takes the time to properly condition you is truly a rare find. Nick taught me how to breathe; how to run; squat; lift; stretch; eat; drink; press and keep pressing my way through to the next level setting each goal higher than the last. I found myself becoming stronger physically, emotionally and mentally. Readily willing and able to take on the next challenge. If you’re looking for a great personal trainer that will motivate you and keep you motivated for a lifetime, Nick is definitely the one to call.

My fiancee and I attended Greater Works for counseling services and I have been literaly awakened to what my role is in my relationship as a man ! Intialy I was totally against going to counseling because I felt that female counselors were bias and i felt that I could read the proper information from books to make me a better husband. Well I get the best of both worlds. She recommends great books and I gain her wisdom personally. Dr. Lee has changed my entire perspective of female counselors ! Every time we attend we receive love, hope, and wisdom from Dr. Lee. I highly recommend Greater Works to anyone who desires to have better in there life, marriage and mishaps. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

I have been working out with Tom for over 5 years now, and he is a great Personal Trainer. He gets to know you, and pushes you just the perfect amount. He tailors your workout to meet your needs and continually changes it to maximize the effect. As your workout goals change, Tom works with you to customize a plan. Having regular appointments with him keeps me from slacking off, but he also is flexible if your schedule changes. His studio has all the equipment you need to get a great workout. I can't recommend him enough!

Bajon helped me achieve my goals through incredible coaching and constant support. I wanted to put on more size and strength leading up into summer and he built me a custom plan fit to my needs to help me get there. I also felt extremely comfortable to ask him any questions I thought necessary and he was more than equipped to answer them and help me turn those questions into results. I highly recommend BOA Training if you are serious about your health and fitness.

I am very pleased with Maida! She is a wonderful person and cares a lot about people. She took me shopping, cooked and I watched so i could take notes. I saw her every week at first, now I'm every other week. I don't think I would be this sucessfull with those who chage $100.00. I bet she makes more money and has a higher sucess rate because of it. Plus she is helping others get health, live longer and feel great! I have been seeing her for over 2 months now. It is a process that takes time, but I'm still learning. I highly recomends her.

Charles guided me through developing a vision for the next phase of my life. He provided me with useful tools that included guided visualizations, a new meditation approach, and a fresh perspective to deal with some old issues. Charles guided me through a process that allowed me to access my inner wisdom and for that I am very grateful. Barbara P, Carrboro

      About

My work stands out for two reasons. One...I love doing it, and two...I frequently do it for free. Which means that I like it and people trust my words. Sometimes, unfortunately, some only realize the value of those words in hindsight. I am making my first consultation free. If you like my edification...we'll continue. If not...I bid you well. My time is valuable and I DO work for money, but this is a business relationship first. If you don't think I can help you - why hire me. And how will you know unless you sample my work. I don not want to waste your time any more than you want your time wasted. I take pride in everything that I do. I want the sheets on my bunk to look the best. Besides, a one time consultation may be all you need, and that I'll give for free, because I love you - whoever you are. I believe in love so much, I'll bet that even YOU will pay for true value. I have a common sense approach to life. Love...its powerful enough on its own. Love doesn't need my help. We both know that love is blind sometimes and we both know that this is why you are here. Love makes it harder to see right from wrong. You are here because you need direction or confirmation to what you are already deciding. Or maybe you need a fresh perspective or new insight. Every one needs a teacher, even me. How can the child be an engineer, without the professor to teach him engineering. Love cant be taught though, your born with it, so you can only experience it and express it. If you've never experienced something new, its foreign to you and you need some fresh solid options on the table. Which may help you determine how best to express yourself in these new experiences. Whether these experiences they be innocent or almost unforgivable.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

      What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

      Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
