Katie T. says, "We can’t say enough great things about our dinner with Lilly Gray! From our initial email exchanges - I knew that Lilly Gray would be a great fit for our girls trip dinner. Lilly Gray was so flexible in providing multiple menu options for our dinner. Lilly Gray got to our house while we were still wine tasting and started setting up. When we got home - we were met with the awesome smells of dinner coming from the kitchen and some beautiful fresh flowers on the dining room table. Lilly Gray was there perfect balance of being friendly and conversational while also allowing us to relax and catch up. Our dinner was amazing - a fresh salad and salad dressing from her garden, fresh steak and mashed potatoes and then the most delicious chocolate dessert. Lilly Gray helped us choose wine from the bottles we had that went best with the meal. She was impeccable with her clean up too! We very much enjoyed getting to know Lilly Gray during the meal. We all agreed we made the right decision to hire Lilly Gray for our meal!!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
