This is the first time my son is learning Piano lessons. He is in kindergarten and is very naughty. Carly knows how to accommodate him very nicely. She is very patient and makes the lessons more interesting and fun. My son always waits for Fridays because Fridays are his piano lessons. I will highly recommend her.
Elena has been working for over 2 years with my son. He is maturing very nicely with his piano and will give lots of credit for Elena. He enjoys learning from Elena. I would highly recommend Elena for piano lessons.
À Deux has been very responsive and delivered exactly what I was looking for in terms of piano lessons for adults!
Philip was so patient and effective with my daughters. They never felt the least bit frustrated, because he always made learning the violin feel so easy and natural! Even though they only were able to study with him for a short time due to distance, they both made great gains during that time! He has a real gift for putting young children at ease, and finding how to draw out their best abilities!
Jan is a great music teacher and a better person. I've taken guitar lessons with him for several years. His lessons are very casual and he is kind and encouraging. Jan mostly plays and performs bluegrass but he likes and is knowledgeable of good music in lots of styles. He has taught me a great deal of finger style blues and some traditional folk pieces in addition to flat picking. Jan develops great relationships with his students and frequently asks them to perform with him.
Shari is an excellent piano teacher with many years of experience! She is patient with new beginners and encourages students to do their best. Learning piano is a great opportunity for all ages and having Shari as a teacher is an excellent choice! Thank you, Shari and Reverb Lessons, for all you've taught me!
I've had the pleasure of working with Billy for the better part of 3 years. Billy has fulfilled and surpassed every goal and objective that we were looking for when we brought our young daughters to Progressive Music Center. My daughters take Piano, Drums and Vocal lessons at Progressive. From the outset, Billy has lived up to his excellent reputation as the Preeminent resource for Music education in the Triangle Area by providing individually catered lesson plans along with caring, relationship-based instructors. Not only have my girls progressed musically in every way imaginable, but the program(s) that Billy provides serve as an enriching part of our lives socially and have helped build their self-confidence. We enjoy his passion for music, his experienced direction and our relationship with him has provided limitless opportunity for our family...it continues to be a great ride!
Vernon is an excellent piano instructor. I began two years ago with half hour lessons and am now taking hour lessons weekly. His focus on proper technique, lessons, and lots of music, along with his positive and encouraging approach, have all been extremely helpful. He uses additional material and media to support the learning process (learning jazz soloing along with standards and audio comping). I appreciate that he enjoys teaching and constantly encourages his students' progress, yet listens and helps when there are difficulties. Vernon has made learning piano enjoyable and I have learned a lot.
I took guitar lessons from Paul Warren at the Raleigh Music Academy for about two years. Paul was great and was able to customize a lesson plan for me to advance my playing ability faster. In addition to invididual instruction, the RMA has student shows so each student gets an opportunity to play in a live setting and gain greater experience and knowledge through interaction with other students. Each summer the RMA has a guitar workshop and guitar clinic where they bring in a well-known guitarist which gives students an opportunity to learn directly from a professional musician and participate in a Q & A with the artist. The RMA is great and really professionally run. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve as a musician whether they're a beginner or advanced player.
Words can't even begin to express our gratitude towards Mrs. Jeanetta, whom we credit with first inspiring our kids interest in Music! Since teaching our eldest daughter, Rachel, at the age of 4 to play the piano, who now also plays the violin; it's a family saying around here, that "we owe it all to Mrs. Jeanetta!" She was so gentle, kind and passionate in her instruction with our Rachel, that her younger brother Myles who would tag along with us to lessons, as a toddler, went on to play the piano as well. We credit both of our children's passion for MUSIC to Mrs.Jeanetta's wonderfully, loving relationship with our eldest; and even though she's miles and miles away from us; her name & profound influence lives on in our household! She's the absolute best! ~The Russell family, Alexandria, Virginia
Mr. Livingston has been teaching violin to my three children for the past three years. He has helped them improve their skills significantly.
Our daughter has progressed in violin quickly with Maria's patient training. Maria has a wonderful manner with children and encourages them to play for others even outside of recitals, which helps build their self-confidence. We are happy that Maria has been our daughter's violin teacher because she is a great role model for musicianship and service to the community.
Our 8 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons at Notasium since they opened, and with teacher/owner Preston Clarke since before that. He's a great teacher and my daughter loves going to class. Great space too!
Jeff has had patience and love with my 6-year old great grandson as he teaches voice and music lessons to him. And this little boy is eager every week to go for his lesson with Mr. Jeff, an accomplished Christian musician and Worship Leader. I highly recommend him.
Our Instructors have many years of experience both playing music professionally and teaching...using their experiences to develop specialized, unique curriculum to teach in the most efficient and effective way possible.
I teach beginning piano, guitar, and violin lessons and can teach music theory as well. I am currently a Music Therapy Intern at Atlantic Music Therapy in Clayton, NC.
We offer beginner to intermediate violin or fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, dobro and viola lessons. I also hand make violins and guitars and offer expert repair and sales.
I enjoy teaching piano and violin to students of all ages and levels. My teaching philosophy is to provide excellent instruction that enables students to become well-rounded musicians. I believe in developing solid technique, rhythm, music theory, reading, and musicianship skills. In addition to these concepts, I hope to nurture not only a love of music but also to provide opportunities for students to express themselves musically and to become independent and confidant musicians.
I love music, and I want my students to gain that same love for it. My goal in teaching is to glorify God in everything. I believe that anyone can learn music, no matter their age. I love children and am very patient with them. I am able to teach beginners in the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, and piano as well as teaching intermediate to early advanced on the piano and cello.
I am an excellent teacher. Teaching over online, such as Skype, would be great. I am experienced with fingerstyle guitar such as Reverend Gary Davis and Blind Blake. I also play old-time fiddle and banjo. I teach beginner to advanced students.
I teach traditional fiddling, based in the styles of old-time players from the American South. My experience with fiddling goes back over 30 years. I have played with well-known old-time string bands, and have performed nationally and internationally. I have recorded six CDs, and for the last 25 years, I have taught private students as well as at workshops and music camps around the country. Learn to "speak the language" of fiddling fluently and expressively, play tunes by ear, and develop the rhythms and phrasing that make traditional fiddle music so distinctive. You'll learn to play tunes set in standard violin tuning as well as in altered tunings. I would be delighted to work with you, whether you will be starting from scratch, or you are an experienced player looking to bring your playing to a new level. I accept students from age 12 on up. Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for in-person lessons Study with me, and you'll get a lot of individual attention! I support lessons as needed with audio and video files, tune transcriptions, and help with follow up questions and concerns. Lessons via Skype: If you'd like to take lessons with me but live too far away, this is a great way to get individualized instruction. All you need is a broadband connection, webcam, and a subscription to either Skype or Google.
