FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Piano Performance as well as a Masters degree in Piano Pedagogy. My masters thesis was writing two books focusing on improvisation and experiential learning. I am also a member of MTNA, NMTA, and LMTA.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Music was always something I excelled at naturally. It wasn't until I was in college that I discovered my passion for teaching. Performing music is phenomenal, but giving some one the tools to share that art and watching them enjoy it is priceless.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't settle. Many people can teach you how to make sounds at the piano, but you should find someone that can teach you to teach yourself. You should learn how to be self-sufficient. When you're done with lessons and you can't teach yourself, you've wasted your time, energy, and money.
