Wow! Can’t say enough good things about Tony. Knowledgeable, punctual, courteous. The list goes on. He was able to quickly diagnose our broken oven and even helped us find a replacement part online ($12 on Amazon!) once the part arrived he came right over and had us ready to go in around 20 minutes. We’ll definitely call him first next time something needs fixing.

I hired Joe to clean the carpets in our new home bc the previous owners wore shoes in the home... We almost purchased all new carpet but the carpet was a great quality so we decided to try cleaning it 1st. So glad we did! Joe got like 90% of the stains out! So needless to say we saved alot of money compared to replacing it. He also cleaned the oven and it looks great too.

I am a bit mixes with the review, Carl and his partner were certainly hard workers and cleaned the majority of the house to a very high level. There were a couple of issues worth noting. During the bid process, we asked for windows to be done. A price was given for this, but it wasn’t until they were on site that they indicated only 5 windows are considered as part of the quote. I believe that info should be up front to give a better price comparison. We have a lot of windows and I didn’t have issue with paying to get them done, but from my perspective, it should be done prior to selecting a vendor. Not a huge issue, but others please be aware. Carl turned our convection oven on self clean and unfortunately did not notice there was a glass pan cover with a plastic knob on the top. As the oven went into its cleaning cycle, it locked the door and it took some time to open the door and remove the cover. It did fill the house with a burnt plastic smell. Fortunately through hand cleaning the oven and using some of the cleaning products on the floor and wall, the smell was mitigated, but as we hired the team to clean in anticipation of selling the house, it was a disappointment. A last small issue was in the process of cleaning the glass Globes on our chandelier in the dining room, Carl broke one of the globes. Again, not the end of the world, but something we need to fix to present the home in the best possible light. There was also 1 of the cabinets in the kitchen that was missed while cleaning. I give them exceptional marks for the areas they did work on, the windows looked great, the baseboards looked great and the dusting and vacuuming was all top notch. They did have another job after ours and I am not sure if they were pushing too hard to get to this job, but there were a few issues that keep me from rating this higher. We intentionally didn’t pick the least expensive vendor with the idea we would get what we paid for. I would say we are disappointed with some details but OK with the overall.

We needed a deep cleaning of our home. This included our oven and refrigerator. I have 5 cats and 2 dogs, therefore I have a lot of hair balls. Klean Streak scheduled me immediately. Their staff was professional and task driven. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Highly recommend their services.

Jessica's team did such a wonderful and thorough job on our home. We opted for a deep cleaning since our house hadn't been seriously cleaned in quite some time, which included cleaning the baseboards, ceiling fans, blinds, radiators, inside the oven and refrigerator and cabinets. Our house has never been cleaner! It was important for us to have the house thoroughly cleaned since we recently had a baby and our family is visiting us soon. Jessica's team was courteous, efficient and accommodating. Will definitely be using them again!

Exceptional service! I called less than 24 hours and Kelly's service was very quick to come to my rescue! They were able to arrange a next day clean for me for a client who was just moving into their new home. The team came in and did an amazing deep clean on the home from top to bottom, including the oven and refrigerator. They were unbelievably courteous, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this company and encourage you to call them for your home needs!

I used peaceful solutions to clean my home prior to putting it on the market to be sold. I needed a good cleaning before selling. They were wonderful from start to finish. Had someone to my home very quickly, the person they sent was kind and personable. She made my home look wonderful. My walks liked shiny and my tub looked brand new. I would recommend highly. I plan on using them to do a deep cleaning before I move into my new home. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because they forgot to do inside my oven. But that was minor to me as they did such a wonderful job on the rest of my home

Rich and his team (Angie and Becky) were outstanding. They provided a deep clean service to make my new home move-in ready. They were timely, personable, efficient and extremely thorough. What could bathroom sinks, a refrigerator/freezer, and an oven all have in common? ... They all look brand new! The team put the elbow in elbow grease as they wiped down doors, door knobs, walls, faucets, and even toilets. I especially appreciated how they not only alerted me to a leaky toilet, but also turned off the water to stop the leak. That small action spoke volumes to me about their proactive attitudes and integrity. I felt that they were trustworthy and each have a great work ethic, plus they were a pleasure to have in my home. They stayed a little late to finish the job right instead of walking out the door when time was up. Becky even helped me winterize the pool before she left because she didn't want the pump to freeze! (I just went to settlement and the previous owners left the pool open - I had no idea what to do). We plan to hire the team on a monthly basis and look forward to working with them each again.

Lisa at Polish and Shine House Cleaning gave me a very good price and accommodated me very fast. I called her first on Saturday and left a voice mail, she called me back on Sunday, and I scheduled her for Monday afternoon. She promptly arrived and cleaned my 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house very fast, in 2 hours. It was not the most detailed and deep job, there was some dust left on the floor and some old dirty spots on the kitchen tiles were not removed. I wouldn't qualify it as a deep cleaning, but it was a decent job for the price. She did not empty trash bins, but we did not discuss it in advance. What we discussed was cleaning the oven from the outside and she did it very well. She also brought her own supplies, including paper towels, I did not need to give her anything. I was satisfied with my experience overall, but I would go with someone more detailed and deep next time even if it costs a bit more.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

    • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
    • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
    • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
