I have known Anita as a professional partner and friend. There are many nutritionists and Anita differentiates herself in her personal and comprehensive approach. She seeks to understand the whole person prior to thinking about solutions. This way, her recommendations not only achieve your goals, but it is accomplished in such a way that works for you, as an individual. She has compassion and cares about every client. I highly recommend Anita.

I took part in Training Aspects' Training and Nutrition plan after Kirill Vaks lead a nutrition workshop for my company. You could see his passion and sincerity. not only did I go from 20% body fat to 14% in three months. The best part is that I'm now able to do a one legged squat! Training Aspects is just the best!

I was in the market for a nutritionist when a card for Nutritiously Yours was given to my daughter. I am a busy professional who is trying to lose 20 lbs with a 5 yr old who has a peanut allergy and eczema plus we are both pescaterians. Dalina was able to put me on an action plan to start chipping 5 lbs at a time which included eating breakfast and exercising for 30 mins. To-date I have lost 6 lbs! She gave me food suggestions to give to my daughter to ensure that she was eating a well-balanced diet plus a homemade lotion to improve her eczema. Dalina helped me navigate the insurance and she is really good at listening to goals and creating an action plan to achieve it. I am truly enjoying our journey together.

It has been a pleasure working with Carmel. The first time we met, I wasn't sure what to expect from a nutritionist, but she has been helpful in prioritizing my nutrition, providing helpful facts about health and tailoring a plan to my health needs. She is never judgemental, and even helps to keep me from being too hard on myself. I think she is a knowledgeable, kind person that is easy to talk to about whatever concerns you may have.

I started working with Jennifer Lesyna approximately 3 years ago; and with her help as a lifestyle coach and nutritionist, she helped to achieve a loss of 115 pounds (yes, one hundred and fifteen pounds). She has an amazing talent to inspire, to identify problem areas and does so with love and compassion because she has "been there". Weight issues are more than just what you eat. There are emotional, psychological, and physiological issues that can cause weight gain and other eating disorders. I came to Jennifer with a lot of skepticism as I had tried everything and I mean EVERYTHING not only diets but pills and surgery. Jennifer literally changed my life. I cannot thank her enough for all her help. I would highly recommend her if you are looking to lose weight or just want to get into good eating habits.

Amazing trainer and nutritionist!!! Her nutrition plan with specific weekly meals and portions was crutial in my pre-contest prep, and her training program targeted my weak areas which drastically improved my overall appearance!! She has amazing attention to detail and develops an individual plan that will give you everything you need to physically achieve your goals!!! Her sense of humor is great and she is a easy to work with!! Be prepared to endure some grueling training programs...but the results are undeniable!!!

Michael and his staff were able to help me reach my goals at a minimum cost. He worked with me on a budget and gave me a payment plan that I could afford. His trainers and nutritionist made me feel confident I would reach my goal from day one. They are the best and we continue hour work once a week on a maintenance plan. Thanks!

        About

I am a registered dietitian. I work with adults, children and families. I help people to have more energy and improve their overall health by eating better. Many nutritionists and dietitians focus on cutting calories and telling you exactly what to eat, but I believe everyone can learn to make better choices just by tapping into their bodies and discovering how certain foods make them feel. I'll be there to offer gentle nutrition guidance and 100% support in a completely non-judgmental environment. It is usually less about what you are eating and more about why you are eating, and let's face it, in this fast-paced stressful world, it's easy to eat for reasons other than hunger. I'll work with you to discover your root issues, and together, we will create an appropriate plan to improve your health one step at a time! Your insurance company may even cover my services. I look forward to working with you!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
