Michelle is great with kids. Our 7-year old daughter loves her piano lessons and always looks forward to them. More important, we can hear that she is really learning and making great progress. Two of her school friends have started lessons with Michelle after we recommended her.
Kino is really patient with me, and her space is really clean, bright and large, highly recommend her for piano lessons.
Gregor is a kind and supportive teacher who made my lessons fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering violin lessons for the first time or already an experienced player.
Jamie, my daughter, loves her piano lessons with Anneke Harger. Jamie cannot stop talking about how much she has learned from her lessons. She loves showing off her new piano skills!
I am fortunate to have found a dedicated and professional violin teacher for my two children. Miss Victoria has a great personality and is able to keep them focused and motivated. My daughter was especially taken immediately with her encouraging and supportive approach. Their hand position and technique are much improved since starting with Miss Victoria.
My son and daughter have been taking lessons at the Piano Workshop of Chester with Sonia for the past few years and they continue to make great progress!
Rachyl is a gifted viola teacher and violist with the San Diego Symphony! She is a 10 out of 10. San Diego is quite lucky to have such a talent like herself. Rachyl made quite a good impression on me during my first viola lesson . First of all, I could right away tell she loves teaching. I was super impressed by the amount of wisdom, knowledge, dedication and passion she had about the viola, I HAD to continue studying with her! I always came out of my lessons inspired and motivated. I continued until she finished her Master's degree in viola performance at Colburn, and was hired by the San Diego Symphony. I hope everyone in the San Diego area considering private viola lessons, from young child, to teenagers (wanting to get into a music conservatory), to adult (it's never too late!!) studies with Rachyl! She is EXCELLENT.
Catherine was fantastic instructor. She was very patient and very encouraging while also challenging me with new material. As an adult beginning violin student I loved working with her.
I decided to take up the violin again after last having touched one over forty years ago. I have been taking violin lessons with Haley for over six months. She quickly helped me get back some sense of the instrument. She has been patiently taking me through scales, rhythm, tempo, sight reading , and in addition has exposed me to the basics of music theory. I have found her to be welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, yet also professional. We go through scale drills, are making our way through basic Hal Leonard books, and even do a little jamming on some rock ballads that she has downloaded for us to play along with. I haven't been practicing as much as I could or should, but Haley is cool with it. It's all been a challenge for me, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. When I progress to a higher level of playing ability, I am certain her high level of violin musicianship and teaching skill will be greatly helpful in allowing me to reach my musical goals. I would highly recommend Haley as a violin teacher for aspiring musicians of all skill levels.
I had an excellent video lesson on Lessonface. Not only did I learn a lot about my instrument...I also received many tips and hints in improving my performance. I look forward to my next lesson which will be in the near future. All around I give it 5 stars.
I was looking for a teacher who can teach beginner adult violin and I found a perfect teacher! I learned violin when I was a child so I did have prior exposure but I haven't played it for about 10 years so I didn't know where I stand or where I should start from. Tianyang also checked the condition of my violin (it was still in a playable condition thankfully). After the first lesson he could see exactly where I stand now and where I should start from. He is helping me to learn the right posture again and he's giving tons of tips as well. He is very patient and encouraging. He works well with adults but I am sure he'll be good at teaching children as well. I'm very glad to learn violin from him!
What I love the most about Johannes is the fact that he treats his beginner-intermediate students just like his music major students or those who are preparing to audition for conservatories or precolleges. I've studied with him for about 3 years so far. I had learned the violin for a couple of years before him but had no basic technique secured and struggled a lot with tone production and overall playing quality. He put equal amount of focus on basic posture and technique with me as he does with his more serious music major students. He's obviously slower-paced with repertoire than other violin teachers who make students play a lot of pieces very poorly in a short amount of time. But each piece and etude I work on with him sounds like what I have never imagined myself would be able to sound like before. Now I know where the bow should be placed with what arm positions and muscle movements for the best quality tone production, and how the left hand should be framed and driven for secure intonation and flexibility, all thanks to Johannes. As long as you practice just the way he asks you to (which often requires you to be incredibly slow and patient), he'd never ever give up on you and never let you play poorly for years with no noticeable improvement! At first I felt as though I wasn't learning much, because he didn't give me a lot of fun pieces I really wanted to play. But 6 months to a year later, I sounded completely different and was able to play some pieces with much better tone and volume. As long as he's in New York, I'll keep studying with him.
Rebekah has been giving my son violin lessons since April and he has improved so much. She is very patient and knowledgeable and I couldn't have chosen a better person to teach my son. I highly recommend her.
I'm so glad I decided to work with Helene! I have wanted to learn to play violin since I was in the third grade and was denied the opportunity to do so as a child, so as an adult I decided to take matters in my own hands and take lessons. Helene is patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging and after three years at her urging I've joined a local orchestra in addition to continuing lessons with her! I've worked with her both in person and over Skype, and am glad she offers the video lesson option as I was away at school for two years and was still able to keep up with my lessons thanks to connecting online every week. The video lessons were just as high quality as the in-person lessons and I was able to advance to learning 5th position while I was away. If you're interested in learning violin. I highly recommend Helene.
I was looking for a cello, violin and piano teacher for my 2 daughters and was lucky to find Furuya Sisters using Thumbtack. They are musical, friendly and my daughters enjoy classes with them. Thoroughly recommend anybody looking for music teachers to contact them!
I have taken couple of voice lessons with Bogna and I was surprised how fast my singing has gotten better. She is a professional with vast knowledge of sound projection. Thanks to her enthusiasm and encouragement lessons are fun. She is very supportive. I am thankful for the opportunity to have lessons with her.
Johnna is really helpful in leading me to pick up my violin skills. I always had problems with my positions and she knows exactly how to deal with it! Love her~
She is a professional violinist and also a very good teacher for someone who wants to advance the technique in violin. Highly recommended!!
Brian Vegh has been my 6 yro daughter’s violin teacher for 1.5 years. He is an excellent teacher who understands how to work with children. He makes lessons challenging yet fun and respects the personality/interests of the child. He is very positive and encouraging with my daughter yet will also redirect her if she is off track. I highly recommend Brian Vegh as a violin teacher.
My two daughters (Selena and Sylvia) started playing the violin from scratch then continued lessons for over 5 years with Lidia. She is incredibly professional with a passion for the violin and is compassionate, she is patient and a pleasant tutor. She is extremely helpful for not only lessons and exams but also school entrances for music scholarships and Music Award programmes. Lidia definitely stands out among others in these above points. She is a very hardworking and kind teacher and an amazing violinist. Julia
Very professional, my daughter made progress in the first month of starting lessons with Nicole. Looking forward to many more!
