About

Ms. Gwin is excellent and my daughter and I are happy and very fortunate to have found her for piano lessons. From day 1, she has been very accommodating, knowledgeable and passionate, which is reflected through her teaching. My daughter is only 4 years old and Ms. Gwin was able to creatively adapt concepts to meet her current level of understanding. With just 2 months of instruction, meeting once per week for 30 minutes, my daughter has already mastered playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb", as well as, some piano theory. My daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions and I am very pleased with the talent that she is so quickly developing.

About

Working with Todd has been a pleasure. We started with guitar lessons for my 7 year old son and since then I've started lessons as well. He is very patient with my son and explains everything really well. My son loves the lessons. I've recommended Todd to several friends as well.

About

I offer guitar, piano, music theory, and songwriting lessons for all ages in my home for an affordable price of $30 for half hour, $40 for 45 minutes, and $50 for an hour. I have been teaching for over 6 years. I've taught nearly a hundred or more students in my experience with all genres, including classical guitar with a special expertise in blues and rock guitar as well as songwriting. I'm a very laid-back person, and I am easy to reschedule with and do not charge for call out as long as they're not excessive. I live with my mother and lessons will take place on the first floor in our family room. Guitar players will bring their instrument, and piano players will play on my beautiful 1920 Weber baby grand piano. I try my best to keep a balance of what the student wants to learn with the necessary skills that the student must learn to accomplish his or her goals in the most fun and rewarding way possible. I don't believe that there is "one way" to do things, and that couldn't be truer in the subject of music. I understand that everyone has different reasons for learning; some want to go to a music school, and some just want to have a fun hobby. I adjust each lesson according to the specific needs of the student. Thank you for viewing my profile! I hope you'd find a teacher that best suits your needs. - James

About

For my live OMM act, please visit my website. Regarding my teaching, I've been teaching guitar on and off for 40 years. My guitar playing skills and teaching skills are very elevated, but I focus my teaching on beginners and intermediates. I started playing/lessons on piano at age nine, clarinet at age 13, alto sax at age 17, and finally guitar at age 18. I studied some music theory in college and finally taking professional lessons on guitar at age 23-25. I started teaching guitar (including usable music theory) at 25. Playing an instrument is "half hands, half head," to quote my former guitar teacher, Myron Weiss, who toured for the UN many years ago, and I still use his concept in teaching today! I give a free first lesson to share my vision. One can peruse my performance website to listen to what I'm doing (playing guitar synch over background tracks via computer), and one can read my bio on my website. I started on six-string acoustic and then 12 strings as well. I teach a right-hand technique using all four fingers and thumb! I teach students to read music but also use chord-blocking charts, using the following styles: - Folk - Blues - Rock - Jazz (once one is advanced and wants it) I primary use The Beatles songs offered in a "stair step," easy-to-advanced, digest-able itinerary. I teach how to improvise and play lead guitar.
