First off ours wasn't a typical event. My son was married last year in Seattle and this was the NJ celebration for all those who couldn't make the trip.
Second, I contacted Marcia exactly a month prior to the date. Not much time at all. And I had never worked with a planner before so I wasn't sure what to expect.
Third, other than centerpieces and favors they had no clue what they wanted and Marcia helped me pull ideas together. The number of changes that took place in the last 5 days alone - people dropping out, people deciding to attend, a change of the entire floor plan which meant moving the DJ and changing table numbers - was making me crazy but she kept telling me it would be ok.
On the day of while setting up our wine bottle centerpieces she realized we hadn't sent enough flowers and still managed to improvise and make everything beatiful. Because they wanted open seating I wanted to reserve 6 tables for family. She not only greeted all our guests (because we were arriving later) but also managed to pull off the reserved tables with a list of names to seat at those tables.
When we arrived everything was perfect, everyone loved it. I was able to just enjoy our friends and family and have a good time celebrating without any worries. When the party was ending she and Amanda were very quickly breaking down and packing up everything that would come back to me.
This review was long because I wanted to get across how much she did in just one month. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a party planner, wedding planner, decorator. You'll be happy you did.
