Kat is awesome! Very thorough and professional. Best dog trainer I've met! Def sticking with her!
It was heartbreaking to think that our 6 1/2 year old Shih-tzu might never get along with our baby. Baby was turning 11 months and Sofie seemed to be getting worse instead of better. She growled at the baby all day long and actually bit her. Fearing we would have to make a terrible decision, we decided to try an animal behaviorist as our last hope. This was my 1st time using Thumbtack. It was very easy to find Kevin and he got back to me right away. A father himself, he takes dog/ baby aggressive behavior seriously. We spoke on the phone and set our appointment for a few days later. He was right on time and started observing Sofia from the second I opened the door. This whole process was so interesting. He sat with us, for a while, and listened to everything I had to say about Sofie and the baby. I felt heard. He taught us some exercises and gave us a plan. We practiced everything before he left so we felt comfortable and knew what we were doing. I swear to you, our dog was changed before he even left. I know all dogs will be different, but for us, the results were instant. I feel totally cool with texting him with any questions that may come up. As for now, things are so much better. We have to keep up with all his suggestions, but as long as we do, things are calm. Thank you, Kevin! Now, if I could just get her to roll over....
I have a 3 year old Belgian Malinois (Dex) that has a great deal of energy but is very smart. I was having some obedience issues with him that I wanted to address in an official manner. I conducted a lot of research regarding dog trainers in the area. My goal was to find someone who possessed a great deal of expertise in training dogs, someone I could trust to get Dex on track with basic obedience and maybe teach him more advanced skills as well. My research led me to Off Leash K9. I read up on Willie Harrell, his vast experience with K9's and training, as well as the numerous positive reviews of his training programs. I contacted him and set Dex up for the two week in-house board and train program. Dex started April 1st with one of Mr. Harrell's trainers, Daniel Clark. I was updated via E-mail and videos during the course of his training as to his progress. I was very impressed with how quickly he advanced in his training. When his training period was complete, last Saturday, I met with Mr. Clark and he went over Dex's new skills, as well as the training collar, in detail. Mr. Clark told me Dex was very smart and learned all of the basic skills in a couple days so he worked with him on some more advanced skills for the remainder of the program. He asked me several times as we went along if I felt comfortable with, and understood, what he was telling me. He went above and beyond to ensure I understood the instruction, the proper use of the collar, and Dex's new capabilities. He was genuinely concerned with making sure I had everything down. Since Dex returned home, I've been working with him on his new skills to get him even more dialed in on some of the more advanced things he learned. Mr. Clark has checked up on us a few times already too since I got Dex back. I cannot express with enough emphasis how much the training program helped Dex, me, and my family. Prior to his training, Dex was always first to the door. He would do about 10 spins before I got there and would literally bash his face through the door on his way out and back in. Now he knows door manners...so he sits and waits until I give him the command before going out or coming in. He also knows sit, down, come, place, heel, touch, extended sit/down, come to heel and through. I'm so grateful to Off Leash K9, to Willie Harrell, and especially to Daniel Clark for training Dex and making him the accomplished and well-behaved dog he now is. I couldn't have done it without them. I highly recommend consideration of Off Leash K9 for your dog training needs. I certainly will look to them again in the future for any advanced training I wish to pursue with Dex. Thank you Off Leash K9!
Very knowledgable and professional dog trainer!! I really like that he uses treats/rewards as a way of teaching and NOT using shock collars. My dog has been learning fast because of his techniques. On top of that, the trainer is very patient and flexible to work around your schedule. He even took the time to research the issues I was having with my dog (on his own time). Aside from the basic dog training, he also offers advanced classes. We meet up once a week and work on a command. This gives me time to train my dog on that specific command(s) during the days I am not with the trainer. Repetition is necessary to succeed. He also gives out goals for the dog every week and he always wants us as dog owners to succeed. If you want a very knowledgable and personable dog trainer, I highly recommend Dennis.
My dog was very aggressive and I thought I might have to put him down because he could not be controlled. Melissa came in and the first training lesson he was calm she stopped him from growling and showing aggression and barking and even allowed her to pet him. I'm completely shocked with her connection with dogs. I'm simply in awe.
I was privileged to have Denise Owens, dog trainer, help me She helped me with my lab. She helped me with manners, obedience, and walking my dog. She used to have pack walks with other dogs in the park. She is very innovative, communicates well with animals and their owners. I would definitely use her again for any dog.
Many pet owners consider their pets to be part of their family. In many cases, pets are showered with as much love and affection as children; our two dogs and cat certainly are treated in such a manner. Since we have such strong feelings for our animals we are VERY selective when it comes to trusting someone to watch over them when it is necessary for us to leave them "alone". Because of our strong feelings for our pets we did not travel until we were fortunate enough to meet Melissa Trasatti. From our first meeting both Pam and I and our pets felt at ease with respect to the loving and professional way she interacted with all three of our "children". Both Pam and I can say without reservation or qualification that Melissa Trasatti will care for your pets as if they were her own. You will be well-served (and fortunate) if you are able to utilize her services. Melissa, Pam and I simply wish to say, "Thank you!!"
My family and I recently adopted our first rescue dog named Mary. She is about 1 year and 3 months old. As soon as we introduced her to the house, her high energy became very apparent, (constant digging, play biting, jumping and destroying the house when we left) she was also extremely timid towards other people (especially men) I really wanted to train her but I wasn't sure on how to go about it. I saw The Doug Trainer on a training website and decided to contact him. THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. After 4 hours of being with him, my mom and I have learned so much about ourselves it was mind blowing. We became aware of what we were doing and how our body language affected Mary. Since she is an imbalanced dog, and doesn't have a balanced behavior, we have to be more patient than ever, and Doug showed us how to do that. After the session, Mary was already showing so many signs of improvement. I got her to submit to me, and for the first time, I was able to grab her ball and throw it, without her trying to nip or jump... I recommend everyone to see this man. He knows what he is doing and is a complete blessing!!! I can't wait to continue this journey and learn more about myself and Mary. Thank you so much Doug!!
We are in the beginning stages of dog training. Kylie is very kind with the dogs and is very professional. We have a long way to go with our training.
The only thing better than being a dog at Cherie's place is being the owner of a dog who gets to stay at Cherie's place! I'm an overprotective doggy mom. I admit it. When I took a job working 12 hour days, I knew I'd have to board my baby. Boarding. Kennels. Ugh. Just those words made my stomach turn. I searched all over Vegas, and just by luck, Cherie was officially opening the week I started work! No kennels? All small dogs?? Overnight care??? Yes! I was nervous, so Cherie suggested a meet and greet. The first good sign was that she was firm about the drop off procedure. She asked me to text or call when I got there, then she would let me in. I like that she didn't want clients just strolling up to her door and sending all of the dogs into a barkstorm by ringing the bell. Smart move. Her back yard is double gated for security, even the pool is gated, and she uses a gated side door to transfer pups to/fro their owners. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is how calm it was. The lights were soothingly low, the temperature was cool, and the dogs (I think there were nine that day!) were excited to see a new kid, but not one of them showed even the slightest hint of aggression. My dog hasn't been around many other dogs, so I was hesitant to throw him in the mix, but after a few tries at convincing me, Cherie just said, "relax, put him down. He's fine. Sheesh." So I did. And just like she said, he was fine! The visit went really well, so I dropped him off the next morning. Luckily, I'm working nearby, so Cherie agreed to let me visit him in the evening. That night, I fully expected my dog to come running to me, jump into my arms, and curl into a please-take-me-home ball. What I got was an "oh, hey, hi! I love you! Ok I'm gonna go play now!" Wagwagwag, back to his new friends. Ha! I was thrilled! Cherie has offered me to visit for several hours each night that she will have him. She took care of me and my dog! She let me lay on the floor and play with the pack, and she even shared her dinner with me! Plus, she knew that my dog is a finicky eater, so she shared her supply of pricey fresh dog food packets with my pup! Cherie is very honest, and though the vibe of the house is relaxed, she runs a tight ship. If she sees something that might help your dog acclamate to her home, she's gonna say it. In fact, she speaks her mind on any dog related issue, and I respect that. She just wants the dogs to do their dog thing and be happy. There are lots of ways she could make a lot more money. She rescues and cares for dogs because it's in her soul. Oh, and did I mention that she got my dog to swim for the first time ever? Holy smokes. Go drop your dog off. You'll be doing him/her a favor!
Stacy is amazing with training your dog! He has trained several of my clients dogs in the past 4 months and each & every one of them "raved" to me about how satisfied they were. Linda, owner of Fluffy Puppy Pet Salon, Lake Worth, Fl
The most wonderful experience. It's very hard to find a trainer for a working dog, especially a service dog. My German shepherd Denali is now a official service dog through training by Sterling Ridge K9. He's my whole world, and I'm so blessed. Kristina changed my life and gave me my confidence to go out again and feel safe through my boy. I had been needing a service dog for a few years but I couldn't afford thousands to train with a society or any trainer wasn't capable or offering it. We are getting back out there! Thank you so much for everything.
I took both my dogs to Sin City K9 to have them trained. Rich and his staff are amazing and made our lives so much easier now that we can take our dogs out in public and not have to worry about them misbehaving. I would recommend anyone looking for a great dog trainer who not only takes the time to train your dog, but also you as to problem solve and handle things when he is not around. I now get compliments from people about how well trained my dogs are when we are out on our walks.... Thank you so much Rich!!!!!
Very good working knowledges of dogs. It was not rushed he took his time and did not push my 6 month old Doberman puppy. While training he still let him be a puppy and figure things out. I was was pleased with our first meeting and the outcome. Would highly recommend Luis to anyone
He is a great dog trainer, he was on point and knew what he was doing. I would totally recommend Tyler to everyone
Dedicated, loving, knowledgeable, caring, and maybe part K-9. I couldn't recommend a better trainer for your dog not matter if the task is big or small. I have worked with her for over 4 years with many dogs and situations. She has personally trainer 2 of my dogs. One from a puppy and another we had behavioral issues with who is stubborn. She took on both tasks with full dedication and heart. Can not recommend enough!
April is an excellent dog trainer who understands the importance of catering a training plan and appropriate tools and approaches to each individual dog's needs and temperament so they are successful. She works with each owner/pet parent around their schedule and makes sure they understand the importance of their role in shaping and maintaining appropriate behaviors of their dogs.
Our Belgian Malinois, Sophie, was 11 months old and a very active dog when we contacted Ken at Taggs K9 for her pulling on leash and leash aggression. Sophie spent 3 weeks with Ken and his pack. I felt very comfortable knowing that Sophie was in a caring, safe environment. His video updates showed us the progress she was making daily. At the end of 3 weeks, Ken brought Sophie to our house and worked with us demonstrating Sophie's new skills and how to use her new collars when walking her and reinforcing her new found good manners! She is now such a well behaved family member and is training to be a service dog. We take her everywhere and get many compliments on her good behavior. Thank you so much, Ken, for bringing out the best in Sophie!
Tashena provided me with bi-weekly, private training services for my dog, Boots. In a matter of months, she was able to help me transform and train a dog that had suffered abuse and neglect from its previous owner, and had severe separation-anxiety issues. During the first session, she was able to identify undesirable behaviors and she worked with me to create a training plan to help Boots readjust to being a house dog. With her help, I learned how to work with my dog and what to do and not to do to continue to work with Boots. I am still using techniques she taught me to work with Boots. I found Tashena to be extremely personable and professional at all times. She is very knowledgeable and is able to analyze and create personalized behavior modification plans that work for an individual animal's needs. I highly recommend Tashena as a trainer and animal behavior specialist.
