Introduction: Let's get started! I am a NESTA certified traveling professional personal trainer and swim instructor. Hi! My name is Shawn Denard, and this is Active U. It is a fitness company that promotes being healthy, staying fit, and living life. If you are in need of an in-home professional personal trainer or swim instructor, look no further. I have been an athlete all my life, playing in different sports, being active, and staying fit. Now at 33, I am still active and in shape only because I took the time to be... active. Life is too short to not be able to go out and enjoy all activities because you are overweight or out of shape. So, let's make the time. At Active U, I believe in constantly changing the routine so you never plateau. This means you will shed that fat off faster everyday and will learn many different ways of exercising. When working out, there should be a smile on your face because of the accomplishment you feel inside and out. I specialize in balance, core, crossfit/boot camp training, swimming, and using your own body weight for a lot of the workouts. You will be amazed at all the things you can do just from your home. If you have a gym, I will also show you how to work all the machines, so you can have the knowledge if you ever decide to try things on your own. As for diets, depending on what you are currently doing, we may have to change it around a little, and I will show you how to maintain a healthy living for the rest of your life without making yourself miserable. I also teach swim lessons and sprint/endurance training, from beginner to advanced. If you are looking to learn how to swim, need stroke correction, or just want to workout, I am your instructor. With 15 years of competitive USS swimming experience under my belt, which includes international and collegiate, after seeing you swim a few laps, I can diagnose your stroke, show you what the issue is, and how we are going to correct it. Most coaches stay on the deck. I like to get in the water to capture your whole stroke. Plus, it makes it easier for you to see what it should look like.

    Look for someone that is competent and has the passion to make you healthier and more fit. They will make it fun with a personality that motivates you and keeps you accountable. Also someone that doesnt do the same workouts all the time. When you let your personal trainer know your goals, they will work with you to design an exercise program that will be safe; everybody is different and what is safe for someone else may not be safe for you. Take one session and see if you enjoy it and if it fits.
