Top notch job done by Vic’s handyman and Assembly Services. Today he installed an additional 2 overhead racks, hung some large framed pictures and a ceiling fan. Vic continues to provide service with a smile and heart. He takes pride in his work aligned with customer satisfaction. If you want superior service, he is your guy. Tyra

We are going to make this very simple review at the beginning with just two words......HIRE THEM! We had an EXCELLENT experience with Jeff and Jay. I knew from getting the quote that they were the people to deal with for the renovation of our electrical needs. Jeff arrived to do the quote and we spent a total of 40 mins breaking down all our needs and he took in depth notes so that he could return the most accurate quote to us. He was prepared with stud finders, electrical testing kit, and ready to take any measurements needed. It took exactly the time period they told us to complete the job and it was spot on. We could not be more happy with how everything was done perfectly to our request. To wrap up they helped explain everything so that we knew how to use everything and reviewed the quote again to make sure they satisfied everything that was within the scope of work. So I will end with what I started with.......HIRE THEM! You will not be disappointed in their professionalism and attention to detail. We actually now want more work done and are working on getting our next fan so we can have them come back. They will be our go to company for sure and have recommended them to our friends as well. Thank you again Jeff and Jay!

I could not be any happier with the services provided by Space City Assembly. I bought two heavy solid wood bookcases from Amazon. I tried assembling the first one by myself only to give up both in frustration and after having tweaked my back. Looking at the product reviews on Amazon subsequently I noticed a lot of issues surrounding the difficulty of assembly. Enter Space City Assembly. Vincent arrived exactly on time. He proceeded to disassemble the one bookcase I had started on, moved all the pieces out of the way, opened up the second box and carefully assembled that bookcase. In a way I felt good because it took him a while to assemble the first bookcase what with following the instructions, etc. As for bookcase #2, the one I gave up on after several hours, Vincent had it assembled in about 15 minutes. I felt embarrassed. Were there an option for more than 5 stars I certainly would select it for Space City Assembly. John

Diego was very professional and explained thoroughly the work that needed to be done. My roof was completed in a timely manner and the work site was left clean. His prices are very reasonable and you pay after the job is completed. I had quotes from 3 other roofing companies that were more than twice the price.

I recently purchased a 22 year old house from a 85 year old widow, who along with her late husband were the original owners. Due to age and illness the house was in need of a lot of work. The first thing it needed was a deep, deep, cleaning...something more than a maid service could provide. After several frustrating hours on the phone trying to find someone who could help me...I was put in contact with Hana from Renew All Construction & Repair. Hana was extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring. She came to my new house along with her team and not only could provide the cleaning services that I needed...they could also provide services that I thought were outside the scope of the job. They were truly amazing ! It was like God sent angels to my rescue. I would highly recommend Renew All Construction & Repair for your needs and will also be using them for mine in the future.

WOW, this was a wonderful experience from the first contact until the final handshake and transfer of final payment. If you are looking for welding services, do not go to those overpriced gate companies. Terri became our problem solved by building a custom gate on the side of our house. He was ahead of schedule on delivery and let me know when he would be at the house working. I could not have asked to have worked with a finer company.

Scott was fantastic! He came out to my house to provide me with a personalized quote and set up a time to complete the job. Scott came out to my house early morning on a Sunday after I had indicated that I needed the work done quickly, and I really appreciated his flexibility and willingness to give up a weekend day. Scott did fantastic work and spent nearly a full day handling carpentry work and plumbing to address issues with closets, showers, and replacing sink fixtures. Scott even did some extra, previously unplanned work when I found an additional repair issue. Scott was super easy to work with, has a fantastic work ethic, offers reasonable prices, and and I would recommend him to anyone in the greater Vegas area. I will definitely reach out to Scott anytime I need additional work or repairs done.

Needed to have some general yard work maintenance , tree trimming, and haul away of trash and yard waste done on short notice before an estate sale. I live about 2 hours away from the jobsite and was able to coordinate, schedule, and make payment for services very quickly. They took pictures of everything before starting work to confirm what needed to be done and took pictures after to confirm all was well. Would hire again.

We purchased a vacant foreclosure property through B&C real estate agent Barbara Newman at a bargain price because it needed TLC. B&C property management handled all contracted maintenance and repairs for very reasonable rates and the quality of work was good. Even with all the work, we went from close of sale to rented for profit within 90 days - and we were living 2000 miles from Las Vegas at the time. B&C handled the stress for us.

Doug is always responsive and punctual. He's done quite a few repairs for me and is always reasonable and fair in pricing his work. He built a custom made in-drawer spice rack, garage shelves and a decorative wall shelf. He's also done plumbing repairs, backyard work and furniture assembly.

Eric was extremely responsive, I scheduled a appointment with him late Friday evening for Saturday morning. I very pleased with the service provided and the price I paid. He was also very quick and respectful of my time. He even fixed a door without me asking which was great! I will definitely call him back for more handy jobs and have already told a friend about him.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a property management company do?

Property management companies manage the rental of residential homes, apartments, condos, commercial spaces and retail spaces. Property managers can oversee just a single unit or many properties, whether those sites are inhabited full-time or are vacation rentals. A property management company helps a property owner or landlord find tenants; collects rent; takes care of accounting, property maintenance and repairs; handles on-site management; and manages vacation rental check-in and checkout tasks. Although many property owners or landlords successfully manage their own rental real estate, a property management company can help you handle tenant issues and maintenance problems, especially if you are not located in the same city or state. Most property management companies deal with tenants directly, and their tasks include:

      • Marketing the rental property
      • Collecting rent
      • Handling repair problems
      • Responding to tenant complaints
      • Evicting tenants

A property management company may be a good choice for property owners who have several investment properties, live far away from the rental property, or don’t have time for hands-on management.

How do you find a good handyman?

Finding a good handyman can change your life. Within days, the endless list of insurmountable tasks that were either out of your skill range or impossible to fit into your busy schedule can be completed. If you know you want help but aren’t sure how to hire the right pro, ask these questions to find the right fit:

      • What is your work experience? If you are putting in a tile backsplash, you want someone experienced with the task, not someone who generally does painting and junk removal.
      • How much do you charge? Handymen often charge hourly rates that vary based on the complexity of the task they’re hired to do, as well as flat rates for standard jobs. Be clear about what they’ll charge before you hire them.
        • On that note, discuss payment details. It’s wise not to pay all the money up front, especially for larger projects. You may be able to pay a deposit for materials and pay the remainder upon project completion.
      • How long will the job take you to complete? If the handyman is as busy as you are and a fence repair is going to take months, you should probably find another qualified handyman for the job.

Read client reviews and follow up with references to make sure you’re choosing the right handyman for your projects. For more, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

      What does a handyman do?

A handyman is a skilled laborer who provides basic home repairs. Anyone can call themselves a handyman, although most who do so are skilled with repairs and home projects. Reading reviews is a good way to determine their fitness for your job. The tasks a handyman can perform include assembling furniture, painting interiors and exteriors, repairing fences, repairing broken doors or replacing trim, hanging lights, hooking up appliances, and much more. Handymen may have flat fees for certain services, or charge an hourly rate. Handyman rates are often lower than those of a contractor, as they don’t have the same specialization. Some states have no limit on the work a handyman can perform, while others do. For example, California’s Building and Professions Code section 7048 (small operations) permits handymen to provide work similar to that of a contractor (floor installation, painting, etc.) provided the total cost of labor and materials does not exceed $500. A handyman is a great resource for minor home repairs at a lower cost than a licensed contractor, but for more complex projects, it pays to hire a specialized contractor. Why is property management important?

A property management company can be a landlord’s greatest asset. As a neutral third party, the property manager handles the day-to-day operations of a real estate investment, from a single vacation home to a large apartment building or several rental properties. A property management company can be especially helpful to landlords who own several units and can’t manage each of them individually, or those who live too far from their investment properties to meet with renters and oversee maintenance. Property management is particularly important if your rentals are part of an affordable housing program. To receive financial assistance from the government, the landlord must comply with a complicated set of rules; property management companies should have both experience and expertise in complying with the rules specific to each housing program.

How much does a handyman charge?

The national average rate for handyman jobs is $90-$160. A handyman performs general maintenance and repairs for residential and commercial properties. A handyman may charge a flat fee for standard services that take a predictable amount of time, such as installing a new appliance, as well as an hourly rate for larger projects such as digging out and replacing a rotted fence post. A cost-saving strategy when hiring a handyman is to bundle all the tasks you want them to do into one visit to make the most of any minimum service fee. Hourly rates for a handyman can average $50-$100 per hour. Pricing will depend on skill and experience required for the job, as well as regional labor rates. Here are a few examples of average handyman flat rates.

      • Attic ladder replacement: $150.
      • Toilet replacement: $75.
      • Ceiling fan and light fixtures: $75.
      • Faucet replacement: $125.
      • Garbage disposal: $75.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
