Sergio provides tutoring service for both my sons. One is in college and the other is in 8th grade. Math is a struggle for both my boys, but with Sergie's help, they are much more confident. Sergio is patient, and provides excellent explanation of the math concepts in a way they understand. We really appreciate Sergio and all his help! I highly recommend him for your math tutoring needs.

Julieta Vasquez has been tutoring my husband and I in Spanish for the past few months. I have nothing but praise for her professionalism, punctuality and preparedness. I’ve taken my SATs a couple of times and although I am not a bad student, I just felt that I could have done better, I knew it inside, but just could not find where it was. I got the Getting Into The Ivys tutoring program and worked with a Chelsea tutor. What I really like about my tutor is that she’s a qualified teacher and is professional and knows how to actually teach concepts properly. I really did not want to take any chances. Going to university is very important to me and my family. Susan my tutor developed a special study plan just for me, which helped me focus on my key weaknesses, without feeling de-motivated, in-fact I was so enthused by her, I actually looked forward to all my sessions. She is a brilliant tutor and I am so very grateful. I was able to increase my composite core by 100. I am very pleased.

Darren was a really good tutor! On my first diagnostic, I think I got around a 1900 or so. I started online tutoring with Darren for the SAT in my sophomore year and continued through the summer. I took the October 3rd SAT and got a 2340 - 770 on reading, 770 on math, and 800 on writing. Darren really knows the ins and outs of the SAT and I couldn't have scored as well without his help!

Yohan is always on time and never late. He gets right to business and he is very efficient at what he does. It was very stressful to find someone that we could trust and to allow into our home but he has been great. He is patient and he does not rush at all. After the first session, my child showed improvement and she has been comfortable with him so far. Anytime we've had last minute changes, he's always been accommodating. I highly recommend for tutoring!

Sebern was beyond an outstanding tutor, he was phenomenal. I know without his help I would not have passed the Praxis Math core exam. He was very understanding of my learning disabilities and very patient with all the questions that I asked him. He is a fantastic tutor.

About

My name is Shawn, and I have been a tutor for 3 years now. I have a 4.0 GPA in college, and I am working towards a degree in nursing with the eventual goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. I also have a goal of becoming a teacher in a professorial role in the sciences. I tutored for Golden West College in California last semester for anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biology. I have tutored privately for these as well. I have taken two tutor mastering courses at Golden West, and I absolutely feel I have a knack for it. I also have taught in other capacities previously to tutoring. I have been a teaching assistant for microbiology, anatomy, Russian sports massage, and professional development. I am currently an instructor for my men's organization at church as well as a cub scout den leader. This is my dead semester so I will be much more available. This semester/year, I will be also tutoring for human physiology, paper writing, and basic math.

About

I have a Master's Degree in Special Education, and am certified to teach English, Special Education (LD, ED, and MR), and history and government at the secondary level. I have taught for nine years in public schools. 90% of my core and special education students passed the State mandated tests. This record of success is due to the work on efficient note taking, study techniques and test taking strategies, along with enthusiastic and motivation-based instruction. Above all, I love and respect my students. They realize early on that I'm on their side, and I concentrate on positive feedback, rather than the negative reactions they unfortunately have learned to expect. Students with behavioral and educational issues have learned that they can be successful and consequently shed the experience of being failures.
