Installed a hand dryer in our business's restroom and combined/split a water heater to ensure hit water is available in 2 different sinks. Dan was very professional and patient with our needs.

Jasson responded to my request immediately. I explained the problem to him, texted him a photo, and he came ready with the parts within an hour. My washing machine valves are now leak-free, and I'm already negotiating the next project with him. I would fully recommend.

Randy has worked on several jobs at our home: power washing, painting doors & trim, general repair, installing hardware to the block wall, and removing trees. Randy is reliable, efficient, and reasonably priced. We have also referred Randy to a few neighbors and friends, and they've all been happy with his work, too. Aside from his knowledge & experience in many areas of his field, and determination to finish the job well, the best thing for us about Randy is that we trust him completely.

I posted in Thumbtack that I needed to fix my dishwasher and within 20 minutes Dan called to let me know he would go check it and let me know how much it would cost me. Dan showed up on the scheduled time and fixed the dish washer and then he called me (I was not there while Dan checking on the dish washer) He said the dish washer is good to go now there was nothing wrong with it. He told me the motor seized up from not being used for so long so he manually turned the motor then restarted the dishwasher in rinse only so it would get some lubrication before trying to turn the motor then he turned it on heavy wash and it works fine and he didn't charge me any fee. I am very impressed with his services not only for his excellent knowledge and experiences but also for his honesty and quick response to my request. I will definitely hire him to repair any of my home appliances and would recommend him to my relatives and my friends.

Everything about Andy Steinborn is professional. He and his workers arrived at the same time every day on the job. His workers were professional, left the remodel in an orderly manner each day, courteous and respectful. I love my home now! I had the kitchen cabinets painted and new hardware put on, granite countertops put in kitchen and bathroom, laminate flooring installed over entire downstairs. Perfect job! I will use Tajo-One for my upstairs remodel.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

      • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
      • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
      • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

      How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
