My 15 year old son began playing the violin a little over a year ago. He has been taking violin lessons at Nevada Music Academy for the past 6 months. He has improved tremendously under the instruction of Dr. Julie Jack. She is a very accomplished and talented violinist and teacher. Dr. Jack is a patient, knowledgeable, and passionate instructor. She has instilled that passion into my son. During the weekly lessons Dr. Jack models how it should sound, plays along with him, as well as gives him constructive feedback on how to improve his technique. He looks forward to his lessons every week. We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Jack as my son's violin instructor.
Each student, whether they are 4 years old or 64 years old, is an individual. I listen to the goals and desires of each person and come up with a course of learning that will achieve those wants. I want to ensure that the student's experience with me is one that will foster a lifelong love of making music. All students are given fundamental skills needed to play an instrument. Once the student achieves some basic command and control over the instrument, we start adding in personal preferences. I love working with beginners to introduce them to something totally new, help them overcome frustrations, and have fun making music. Please note that even though I have quoted an individual lesson price, I do charge MONTHLY. Please check my website at or give me a call for further details.
I offer in-home and studio (in my home) lessons on piano and saxophone. Being educated at California State University in Long Beach, I have been a professional organist, pianist, and director of music for the Lutheran church for 20 years. I have taught music lessons privately in Orange County, CA, and the Las Vegas/Henderson area for many years. I teach the rudiments of music (reading, sight singing, and note names) as well as fundamental theory principles as the student progresses. I am classically trained, but I offer intermediate jazz instruction in addition to classical style. Rates for the lessons vary depending on the length and frequency of the time scheduled. I do offer multiple student discounts when two or more students from a family are enrolled in lessons.
Personalized and customized to your needs. Only learn what you want to learn. I take pride in helping others and offer a value added service like no other.
I've been teaching instruments since 1978, making learning to play an instrument fun. I make sight-reading easy by breaking complex rhythms down to their simple basics. I help you develop a sense of pride and accomplishment in your abilities. You are your only limitation. Don't limit yourself.
I've been playing both saxophone and clarinet for over a decade. I have performed at Carnegie Hall as well as prestigious music festivals like the Midwest Clinic and the Monterey Jazz Festival. I teach both classical and jazz. Any ages and skill levels are accepted. I have flexible hours, and parents or guardians are allowed to sit in the lessons if they would like. I've taught at several middle schools and high schools as well as learning centers where I taught children from 4-16.

I have spent many years in the Las Vegas area cementing my reputation as a capable and incredibly versatile musician on a wide variety of instruments and musical styles, as well as founding and arranging for several bands. My music lessons, though intense, will help any strong willed student to unlock their own unique talents, along with learning music theory, a large variety of techniques and most importantly, a critical ear.
I have been a professional musician and teacher for the past 30 years. I have won many awards for my music and teaching. If you are serious about wanting to learn a musical instrument, I am the person to help you on that journey.
