FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically have a flat fee I require. The only additional charges are if I'm required to attend the rehearsal & if I'm required to travel more than 20 miles from my residence in Reno. Otherwise my work is the same if there's two guests or two hundred guests.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After sending my quote, the customer then usually sends me a message asking if I'm available & any other questions they may have. I do my best to respond & answer any questions as promptly as possible. I then ask for the new client to send me an email with some background on the bride & groom (special interests, hobbies, how they met, the proposal story etc.) so I can begin customizing a personal ceremony. I then create a first draft & send it to the client to look over. They are encouraged to make any changes they see fit to make. It is their day after all & I want the entire day to be exactly how they want it to be. I then make the necessary changes & send them a second draft for approval. I am willing to do this as many times as necessary to make them happy with their ceremony. After receiving approval via email I then print it & prepare it for the ceremony. I then practice it & read it over several times leading up to the wedding day. On the big day, I typically like to be at the venue at least an hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony. I seek out the groom, introduce my self, retrieve the wedding license from him & find out who will be signing as the two witnesses after the ceremony. I then fill out my portion of the license in preparation of the ceremony.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It just kind of happened. I was asked to perform a wedding for a near & dear friend. I researched it & became an ordained minister. I was a also a full time professional musician for 23 years as a lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist & band leader. I've become accustom to speaking in front of crowds, as a result being a wedding officiant comes natural to me.
