Jesse was absolutely amazing for my wedding. We were married in upstate New York at one of the national parks there, and really wanted an outdoor ceremony and a nice rendition of our song (Hello I'm In Delaware by City&Color) for that. Jesse learned the song in days and his playing is absolutely beautiful. He also had to contend with the weather which was monsooning right up to the start of the ceremony. I was so preoccupied with willing it to stop raining that I completely forgot about instructing or worrying about the music. Thankfully he took care of everything and was ready and playing before the rain had fully stopped. I cannot express how beautiful his playing is and how nice it was to not even have to worry about that one part of the event! All of our guests requested his information during the cocktail hour, and just loved the ambiance he set. He's also a huge bargain compared to other wedding musicians. You get a lot of bang for your buck! Would definitely recommend him!

As a true beginner, Charlie makes you feel relaxed and comfortable from lesson one. His knowledge of the guitar itself and his teaching techniques are exceptional. His book ( The Expressive Guitarist ) is an awesome step by step learning tool. Charlie also has been a great help to me in purchasing guitars and various equipment. I highly recommend Charlie for lessons, insight on purchasing equipment, guitar setups and repairs.

Dennis is wonderful at helping me accomplish the goals I’ve set for myself and I highly recommend him as a music teacher. Although I’m not a guitar student, I’ve had Dennis work with me to help develop my skills with jazz. He makes lessons both interesting and challenging yet never leaves me feeling discouraged or feeling that that something is too difficult. I love that he gives me many strategies for learning new pieces, for developing my ear, and for improving my competence as a jazz musician (rhythmically, technically, harmonically, etc). I especially like that everything we work at gets applied in the context of playing real tunes – nothing is ever given in isolation without going on to the application of the skill during the lesson. I’ve been working with Dennis for 3 years now and continue to look forward to each lesson with him.

About

Why my work stands out from others would be because I am very patient. living with a learning disabilities I have learned to view music education from many different angles. That can be helpful when showing concepts and making it easier for the student to understand. I'm also a karaoke host in the evenings. So I use my karaoke tracks for students to sing against. that way I can concentrate on your singing technique and not playing songs on my guitar/ piano. As far as guitar/ piano goes, being a DJ helps me understand the broad spectrum of music to help craft is students style.

About

Hello! I'm a local musician from Ithaca, NY, available to teach guitar lessons. I have over 10 years of experience playing guitar in a professional rock band as well as writing songs in different styles such as folk/blues/rock/progressive rock/metal/electronica. In addition to teaching guitar, I am able to instruct students on how to integrate computer programs such as Ableton Live 8 or MainStage 2 into their live setup. These programs allow the modern musician to sculpt and design virtually any soundscape. The main focus is to teach students the basics of guitar technique, rhythm and the use of new technology for composing songs. Songwriting is a great form of self-discovery and therapy. Contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to working you!

About

As a professional, I've played over 2,500 gigs in every possible situation. For the most part, my success has come while in three bands and although I have moved around a bit, these three bands were all based out of the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. Dick Fawcett gained national interest by selling almost 2,000 CDs within a year of the release. The Pontiac Grille and The Grape St. Pub in Philadelphia along with The Bitter End and Webster Hall in New York City were mainstays for this band. I went on to The Collective. In less than a year, this hip-hop band went from backroom practices to consistent national openers. The Wailers, The Roots, Busta Rhymes, and Ja Rule are just some of the sold out shows we played at venues like The Montage Mountain Amphitheater and The Kirby Center. At our peak, we drew more than 1,100 fans. During this time, I also released The Dharma Bums, a collection of my songs with 15 of the best musicians in the area. That led me to The Five Percent. With the release of our fourth CD, we surpassed 10,000 units sold. A dream come true, we toured the entire country. Highlights include working with a Grammy nominated producer and recording and consistently sharing the stage with Pete Francis from Dispatch. Currently, I share the stage with Leighann Molinaro in LMN Duo. I also give private lessons. I'm teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and piano. I currently have students of all abilities and ages. I have been teaching for over 15 years, and I have had several students become college graduates and working professionals. I'm also putting the finishing touches on my own guitar method book. I have played in front of 10,000 people, inmates at a jail, record executives, kids at a prom, live TV cameras, and five people in Boise, Idaho. I have approached and still approach every gig with a grateful passion better described in several of the 250 songs I have written. Come out to a gig, and I'll play one for you.

About

Hello! I am currently a sophomore at the University of Scranton, and I am looking to share my talent and knowledge of the guitar to aspiring/current guitar players around the Scranton area. I have been playing since I was nine years old and love the instrument dearly. I attended the Settlement School of Music in Philadelphia. I'm the lead guitar in several jazz ensembles and attended a music-concentrated high school back in my hometown of Cherry Hill New Jersey where I learned advanced music theory and recording production and performance, and much to the annoyance of people on the campus, I'm outside jamming with friends almost every day. I am a college student so I can only do lessons while school is in session but will make the most of the time I have with you. Whether you are a relatively experienced player or have never struck a power chord, I would love to help develop your knowledge and skill not only on the guitar but also of music theory and appreciation.
