Danielle dog sat my two dogs for week while I was on vacation. She had to administer medication twice for a aging pup with Cushings. Her First Aid and CPR training and just overall confidence with dogs, made my out of town plans just that much easier. She gave me feedback concerning some behavioral traits that may need some attention, so we will begin this training very soon. Schedule your time with Danielle with full confidence!-Chris

Sarah is an absolute wonder. She is a certified dog behaviorist who worked with my cairn terrier puppy. Before she came we called the puppy Devil Dog. Sarah put a huge amount of thought and brought a great amount of expertise into figuring out to help our family and our dog live happily togerher. I feel like we have a new dog. I can't find words to recommend Sarah highly enough. She is the best there is and you will not go wrong in hiring her. I cannot recommend Sarah highly enough!

Vanessa came three times a day during this past week to care for my dog and cat, both of whom are approaching thirteen years old, while I was out of town. They were both healthy and happy pets when I returned. She will be caring for them again during three more extended trips I have planned for the next two months. It's a good feeling to know I can safely leave my animals, who are very important to me, in Vanessa's care knowing they will be well taken care of and loved by her.

I started as a training client with my then 12 week old shepherd mix puppy. The training and trainers were absolutely amazing. We have attend every training program offered and now use all there services. This facility and staff is the best I've found by far. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and has extremely satisfying customer service. My dog jumps for joy anytime I say do you want to go visit Love your dog. As long as he is happy and seems loved which I know he is I'm happy.

We are a loving caring proffessional couple. Who just adore dogs. We are very protective and just love to take care of ur babies while u are attending to other things. Your mind will be at ease with the assurance that your baby is being well taken care of. We have a big enough townhouse with a big fenced in backyard with a store full of treats and toys that our lil baby Chee chee has so much fun with. He is our lil yorkie. He is the most friendly, likable, compassionate yorkie u can ever imagine. He loves to play with other dogs and there is not a mean bone in his body. We rescued him from a very abusive situation. Cant talk about it i cry. But that is why we also love doing this because we know what is out there and we want to take care of ur dog so u can work or etc with peace of mind

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
