Mike was great. He’s personable and committed to making his customers happy. He’s great with our dog, moves furniture and did a fabulous job with our carpets. I’ll have him return to clean our kitchen tile floor and definitely to clean our carpets again.

Very positive experience. Beverly, who is the owner, was detailed and patient with all my questions (first time customer). I had a detailed hardwood floor cleaning as well as a bathroom deep clean. Ami, who provided the service, came in for a brief consultation to provide a quote since my request was specific. I quickly booked the job for the following week. The floors look brand new and the bathroom spotless. You can tell there was a lot of thoughtful work put into the job. We were very impressed. Note that you will need to provide mops/vacuum/swiffer etc.. but they provide the cleaning products. Thank you Ami and Beverly!! Will definitely book again!

The team started working shortly after they arrived. The bathrooms needed a lot of work. They cleaned the shower, washbasins, toilets and floors. They also cleaned the kitchen floor, sink, countertops and microwave. They vacuumed the carpet and shook the tables in the living room. They even made the bed. I know I must be forgetting everything was perfectly cleaned, the floors of my house were especially dirty and the work crew were able to get it partially clean they did a great job. I will take into account that it is a clean and respectful work team. I would be happy to recommend the equipment for your cleaning needs.

Silvia was great, exceeded my expectations and made what was once a grimey move-in for our new apartment into a much better living situation. She cleaned the grout and tiles for our bathroom and it almost felt like new. She also did a great job with the floors and went above and beyond putting things away and helping setup our new place.

My experience was good, it was just a little hasty and sloppy. There are still a few stains on my couch that need to be cleaned. It just seemed really rushed. The guy I had was very nice and he did a good job, but there was water on the floor and my hardwood floors were scratched from moving the couch. Just would have appreciated a little slower pace.

Nelly came and cleaned my apt this past Sunday. I booked her on Saturday and she fit me in at my desired time even though it was super last minute! My apt has just undergone a renovation, we'd redone all of the hardwood floors. Needless to say it was incredibly dusty. Nelly did such a great job, you'd have no idea we just had work done! She came perfectly on time with all her own supplies and I can't be happier with my clean apt. I'll definitely book her again! Thanks so much Nelly!

A friend referred Jim to me to paint my basement. He did an outstanding job. Showed up on time. Worked neatly and efficiently. I found out that he also cleans houses and had him come back to clean my house. He did a deep clean and made everything sparkle like new. Just like before he showed up on time was very professional and did a great job. He cleaned my kitchen, bathroom, washed the floors and vacuumed. He cleaned the inside of the refrigerator, around the dishwasher door, inside the oven and toaster oven. He left no detail behind. I will definitely have him back!

There’s nothing like walking into my home after a cleaning from Maria. Everything is SPOTLESS and it is such a weight lifted off my shoulder to know i can trust someone to get the job done correctly. I’ve hired other house cleaners in the past and none compare to the quality; Maria is simply the best!

Phil was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional, his fee was reasonable, he was responsive and prompt. Our floors came out amazing and I would recommend him to anyone seeking someone to clean their tile floors. We had years of wear and tear, kids, pets, food, drink, and much foot traffic. Our floor looks practically new. Thanks Phil! We are extremely happy.

It is rare when a job one contracted for exceeds one's expectations. The job that Mr. Sandless did on our wooden floors exceeded my expectations. The floor right now is beautiful, giving off a quiet glow that suggests it too knows what a excellent job has been done to it. The two gentleman who did the work were efficient and thorough. They did the job in one day, moving the furniture as required. They even came back to put down the rug after we got our new couch delivered. Their workb was excellent.

We asked Luciana for a pre-move heavy cleaning. The house was really dirt and she did an amazing job. Floor, windows and appliances very clean. They are also honest. I asked to clean my fridge and she saw the fridge was already clean, so she didn’t charge me for that.

We were so excited his guy cleaned our kitchen floor from tenants that probably hadn't cleaned the floor in years and it came back to life. I was shocked I didn't have to replace the floor to put the house on the market. Thank you!

We used Aldayna Stone Care for a large expanse of travertine marble floors and terracotta stone tile floors (both were very dirty). We also changed the tile's grout color. What an amazing before and after! We're extremely happy with the quality of service, timliness, professionalism of staff and attention to detail. Exceptional company!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
