Barbara is an excellent music instructor. I have had 3 sessions so far and feel like I have learned so much from her. I can't wait to see how much more I will improve in the next 3 sessions. I'm glad I signed up for singing lessons at the Alexander Music Studio!
Barb's Continuo Home Music Lessons provided home lessons to my son. Not only was the instructor very talented, but they knew exactly how to interact with a young person to keep his interest throughout the lesson and encouraged practicing beyond the lesson. Barb is always prompt and goes out of her way to accomodate scheduling issues.
Very strong fundamentals, explains well, and sets one at ease with her kind smile. I've taken lessons from top notch people and she breaks things down simply, emphasizing proper technique.
My son Aidan has been working with Mosa Tsay as his cello teacher, and she's been awesome! I would highly recommend Mosa and City Strings & Piano NYC!
Ms. Nicole is a great piano teacher to my 7-year old son. She is very patient but yet firm and thorough during piano lessons. Highly recommend!
My daughter has been taking violin lessons with David since she was 9 years old; and more recently, she has started classical, acoustic guitar lessons the summer before entering college. He is a dedicated professional and diligent in making sure his students learn correct technique and become more musical in their own personal way. More importantly, David has the ability to keep his lessons fun and varied! Her lessons have always been highlights of my daughter's week! I recommend David without hesitation.
I was looking for a cello, violin and piano teacher for my 2 daughters and was lucky to find Furuya Sisters using Thumbtack. They are musical, friendly and my daughters enjoy classes with them. Thoroughly recommend anybody looking for music teachers to contact them!
Lessons with Trevor are great and fun. He understands your needs and tailors the lesson accordingly.
I had the good fortune to take cello lessons from Kevin for about a year. Being my first experience with a professional tutor, he was patient with my lack of knowledge, informative in so many areas of the cello and music as well as flexible with scheduling changes. I always had a positive experience and learned a lot. Kevin is also a fantastic cellist. He can make the cello sing beautifully.
Sharon makes piano lessons fun and always seems to know the right balance between strictness and light hearted fun. My favorite song was Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata, where Sharon made fun of and helped correct my slouchy posture and also helped with putting more emotion into the piece. I am pretty lazy with practice, but Sharon is very flexible and can always find something to improve even when I don't get a chance to practice.
Daniel is not only an amazing musician - he is a wonderful teacher! He is reliable, friendly, and patient and connects with students of all ages. Daniel has a knack for understanding each student as an individual, and tailors his lessons to bring out each student's unique talents. You will not be disappointed if you choose Daniel as your cello teacher!
Julia is an absolutely wonderful teacher. Im an adult student, and I looked long and hard for a teacher who would be right for me. After nearly a year of false-starts I found Julia. She is a gifted musician whos passionate about the cello and patient with a beginner like me. When I play a scale or a song, she can identify exactly what I need do to enhance my tone. Her pedagogical approach combines a keen, intuitive sense and a wide breadth of knowledge. In short, Julia is stellar and its a joy to be her student.
I started taking Cello lessons when I retired, so I am obviously no youngster. Peter is an excellent teacher. He is very structured, very patient and obviously very knowledgeable. Not only is he also an excellent Cellist but takes the time to work with his students so that in the end, they too can excel.

The customer service was outstanding each time we went there, my husband loved his teacher and he had a great time at his lesson. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Best cello teacher I’ve ever had! Her wisdom, her expertise, enthusiasm, love of teaching, and most of all her patience made my learning a better experience...highly recommended
I am a first-year college student from The Juilliard School. Unlike other students, since I have been led to some wrong places and I tried so hard to correct them with time, I know every single thing that makes performance better and easier. My job is to teach students on how to use their limited time to improve their techniques or music with my 14 years of experience in practicing and performance. Since this is my first time of official teaching, and I came from China, I love to give everyone first lesson for free.

I offer private cello lessons, music theory tutoring, and ear training lessons. I play cello for gigs and events including weddings.
