Set up some studio time with Vin, was excited to finally find a studio in New York and get back in the habit of recording. As soon as I arrived, Vin bailed and left me with another engineer who I'd never met. Recorded one song in four hours, most of which was the engineer just tweaking the beat and rambling about his life. Awful experience. Would not recommend.

We had a 5 star recording experience with Steve. I have been a recording artist for many years and worked in lots of studios with lots of engineers and Steve was ace! Steve is intuitive as to what is needed so moving from task to task was pretty seamless. We worked in Steve's home studio for a small project and he was geared up with nice mic's and monitors and took attention to detail for mic placing to get the best possible sound. We contacted Mike Hurst in January 2015 to record and produce three songs that my daughter (16) had written, as a part of a school project. We were immediately met with professionalism, friendliness and genuine interest. Since studio recording was new to us, we needed someone who could understand our ideas, engage in dialogue, guide us along, respect the songs and make the most out of them. Mike immediately understood where we were going (even when we didn't), and could lead the way into uncharted territory. He always knew when to listen and when to be decisive, never loosing a sense of direction. Mike was a perfect choice for us, and we can't wait to work with him again. The most important thing is that he always tries to make the most of each song in its own right, not trying to create something else. In total we went to his studio in Brooklyn four times, and we always enjoyed it a lot. Mike always made sure that we kept progression, with minimum time lost. He is himself a very good musician, and helped with many aspects of the recording, including instruments, programming etc. He also gave my daughter the confidence and support to perform her best. The result is amazing. All this was done on time and at a very reasonable budget, which we decided up front. We give him our warmest recommendations!
