Introduction: I take personal interest in the musical goals of my students. I want our lessons to be fun and relaxed. We go at your pace. It's important to me that you learn the things that make you love music. If there's a song on your favorite radio station that you absolutely love, let's learn it so we can play along! If you love Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, well then let's work on that! You hold the reins that guide your musical journey, so let's learn what YOU love. I want you to be able to have fun with and participate in music whether you've been playing for many years or are just starting out. My goal is to cater a lesson plan specific to YOU so that we can unlock your talent and start jamming! Corey was my guitar instructor for 3 years. He is knowledgable and passionate about what he does. Corey has vast interest in music. We could work on anything from jazz standards, 12 bar blues, to Phish tunes and Pantera songs. He is also a very mellow and funny person, making him super easy to work worth. One of the best guitar teachers around Plattsburgh, I had some music experience from band but never picked up a string instrument. After listening to a Jam session with Corey and my brother I knew I had to take lessons with him. After only a few months I was playing like a pro and could easily understand the material he was giving me. Corey just doesn't teach you how to play Guitar, he teaches you how to understand it and be confident in your ability to play anything. Corey is a great teacher and I would recommend him to anyone!

Corey taught me how to build chords easily and the way he taught was easy to understand. I learned how to create solos based on what key a song was in, and how to determine the key of a song by ear. I was also introduced to programs that could help me learn songs on my own.

Corey is an excellent teacher with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of music. He can show you the way to becoming the artist you are. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is listening to my student and discovering his/her musical tastes, preferences, and musical aspirations. The next step is simply a matter of connecting the dot from where they are today to where they want to be in the future. We set both short term and long term goals - The next step is getting to work!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Bachelor's in Music in 2013. I have over ten years of professional performance experience in jazz, rock, blues, funk, musical theatre, and solo guitar. Notable performances include the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in 2014, as well as guest artist appearances at the Giltz Auditorium at Plattsburgh State University in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Discography includes Thugtet by Rick Davies.
