great workout. I’ve been doing martial arts for 15 years, and looking for someone who can il my game. Serge fits the bill - I learnt a bunch of new techniques, improved some others and left exhausted. it was great!
I met Daryl through a mutual friend at a holiday party. Over two years of personal training later, I can confidently say it was one of my best decisions. My life is hectic and Ive never had time for the gym. Attending sessions with Daryl made me make time for myself and motivated me to have a healthier life style. While I was never over weight, I was out of shape! Daryl structures our training sessions around my personal needs. He also offers advice on meals and nutrition. He is upbeat and excited at each of our sessions and keeps things fresh. I never do the same workout twice. He is able to combine strength training, cardio, boxing, and circuit training into my sessions. Overall, he makes a difference in the lives of the people he trains because he truly cares and loves what he does. Take a chance with Daryl, you wont be sorry!
I have trained mixed martial arts with Evis on a regular basis. His teaching style was very hands on and he gave me excellent tips on my form and technique. I highly recommend training with him if you want to excel at MMA.
I worked with Curtis 2-3x a week for about a year and I was in the best shape. He tailored the workouts to my level and needs and helped me get stronger. He is extremely knowledgeable about the body, muscles and fitness in general. What I loved about working with Curtis is he's very personable. He encourages, supports and motivates - he's genuinely interested in your goals and works with you to obtain them. I saw him frequently but the workouts always varied - he's always coming up with different exercises - this is a good example of keeping it fun for the client AND shows his commitment to learning more about training for his own professional development. I looked forward to the workouts that were challenging and intense. I definitely recommend working with Curtis!
I have known Mike for a long time. Hands down, he is the first guy I go to for my fitness program! A knowledgeable professional in so many areas who takes his time to work with you and cares about your fitness and health. A person of true integrity is a rare commodity these days and Mike is one of those individuals...... Soke John C. My experience was good we focused on core cardio strength training witch is what I need overall Somali is an excellent trainer straight to the point looking forward to working out again soon!
I've been exercising and training boxing/mma with Jose for almost 3 years by now,all I can say is that he's one of the best trainers/mentors in new york city,he has a lot of experience in fitness and martial arts, when you hire a trainer, you dont only need a person who's going to teach you how to workout, you will need a person who will honestly care about your health and well being,Jose is one of those rare trainers who really understand body mechanics,he always has a solid answer for your questions about exercise,at the same time he's training you,he's explaining every single detail of each workout you're performing and how it will help you to achieve your fitness goals! Do not hesitate in hiring him as a trainer, your investment will be worth it,plus you'll always want to come back sooner for your next training session!
I am so grateful that I hired John to teach me self defense and traditional martial arts skills. He always tailors our lessons to meet my needs, and he is encouraging in a way that makes me want to work harder. He is also extremely knowledgable and I am learning so much from him. I feel more confident in my ability to protect myself already!
I've trained with countless personal trainers out in NJ, VA, and here in NYC from private gyms (90 Second fitness) to public gyms ( Equinox, NYSC, LA fitness, Balleys, Mid City, MPHC, and Synergy) specifically for sprinting, fat loss, proper technique, and for other miscellaneous goals so I feel confident in my following assessment of Emmanuel George (a.k.a. Manny). I've attended approximately 10 private training lessons with Manny so far and found his style both enjoyable in terms of keeping the mood upbeat and feeling positive, while still providing a supremely intense work out along with solid technical and engaging feedback that would improve my workout and performance. I'm a stickler for proper posture and technique so I found it refreshing to see that Manny knew his stuff. I also appreciate the fact that he is extremely punctual, flexible, and accommodating with his scheduling. Manny has trained me at my gym, at his private gym, and even Central Park. And so far, he has arrived on time, with an infecting cheerful spirit, and prepared with all the equipment and with a mapped out workout plan already in mind. I really dislike it when other trainers just 'wing it' on the spot; fortunately for me, Manny shows much more initiative than that. Manny is one of the most patient, well-trained, highly skilled, reliable, and experienced personal trainers in the NYC Area. Not only does he offer extremely competitive rates and packages, but he is also extremely knowledgeable with mixed martial arts, free weights, and calisthenics. My initial goal when first starting with Manny was to just get back on a regular workout routine. However, I've already noticed substantial muscle gain, toner body, fat loss, and a much stronger core. Whatever Manny's workouts are doing for my body, it's definately working. As aforementioned, I've taken privates and group classes elsewhere, but they pale in comparison to Manny. He carries a commendable etiquette and professional and a great personality; he doesn't rush or blaze through the techniques and session with frustration and ignorance as others have with me. He even offers to take your body fat and mass stats and a diet plan. So all in all, I highly recommend seeing Manny whether you are an absolute beginner new to working out or an avid athlete with targeted goals. Keep up the good work Emmanuel! Best, SC.
I've known Ed Costigan for over 30 years in a few respects. First, as the most senior black belt instructor under Arthur Cohen he has always been there, not just for me but for Mr. Cohen and the entire organization and the law enforcement departments we've supported. Ed And I live in the same town and it's not hard to see that he's a well liked and respected member of the community. We don't talk much about his accomplishments as he keeps much private being a modest man but I can say he is a lifesaver not just as a lifeguard and a high profile security agent. More recently I have had the pleasure to train with Mr. Costigan in the Russian Martial Arts and can attest to his prowess. I would endorse and support Ed Costigan in any endeavor. Thank you Eddie!
Lamar is a special kind of trainer. I say that because whatever your goal is, he goes out of his way to find the solutions that work best for you. He could easily just give you a cookie cutter program and absent himself from your goals; but whether it is using technology or putting his own body to work with yours, he exhaust himself finding the best solution for you. He will meet you at your level and then help you improve and become better at what it is that you do. In my case I have been an amateur martial arts athlete most of my life and in my late 40's I have decided that competing in the open Ultra Heavy Weight Class in Brasilian Jiujitsu would be a blast. But I needed to improve my conditioning. I called on Lamar. Not only did he design a program for me and my specific needs as an older athlete. He also suited up in a Gi/Kimono and drilled with me until neither of us could barely move. The result was both a bronze and later a silver metal in my first two competitions. I could not a have achieved my goals without his help. That is what I want in a trainer . A trainer who cares about what it is I want to do rather than making me into something I'm not. I find that to be the difference between a novice and a master level trainer, of which is the latter, Lamar McKay is a Master LevelTrainer. Jose A. Esquea
As my kids were entering their later years of grammar school and preparing to enter the middle grade system, I wanted to make sure they were mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for anything and everything that came their way. I wanted to keep them in shape, protect themselves, build confidence and increase their flexibility and so I found it right here in my home town, Sifu Ivan's Ultimate Martial Arts Acadamy. We have been training here for the past 6 months and this is as good as it gets when it comes to mixed martial arts. You will have an amazing time, meet new friends and find new levels of energy. After attending for several months now, I have noticed a huge positive improvement in the areas of confidence, focus, listening, strength, self esteem, endurance and grades. They are so eager to attend that we quickly went from once a week to twice a week. They look forward to learning new skills and mastering them in order to advance to the next level. The academy also reinforces the values of respect, friendship and family. It is an incredible environment to not only learn martial arts but to also have fun in the process. Sifu Ivan is an incredible instructor not only does he teach the skill, but relates it with life experiences and applies it with example. What a phenomenal experience filled with positive energy!
For me, I've been training for 24 years in Tiger Schulmann's. I continue my training three days a week each week to keep up with my certification. I have a curriculum that I teach each week to my students from Master Tiger Schulmann. The way I am with my students makes it feel like a family environment.. I give them everything of myself to better help them reach their goals. My school is a place where people feel safe and can always come to, no matter their day, good or bad.
