Introduction: Hello! I am a concert cellist and professor based in New York City. I am on the faculty of the Longy School of Music at Bard College and Montclair State University. I am accepting a limited number of advanced cello students. I approach my practice and teaching with a positive energy, tuned into issues that need to be addressed and aware of the time needed to building a foundation, but assuring that our process is relevant to the student’s goals. I am always aware of what brings the student to the cello, and make sure that our work will continue feeding that curiosity and love for music. Available for online lessons, and lessons at my residence. Below is my teaching experience, and a performance bio. I hope to hear from you! Christine taught my daughter and I can see that she cares about each student. She is willing to customize her teaching according to each student's needs and work with the student to achieve their specific goals. She is kind, caring, honest, patient, hard working, responds promptly, and very professional too. She has great technical skills and also is a good person to have as a teacher. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great cello teacher.

Christine is a wonderful and skilled cellist and teacher. Her own playing and training is of the highest level and in turn that enables her to have an understanding of what needs to happen in order for her students to progress and grow. I saw this first hand with my daughter (now a conservatory student) who always has said that Christine knew how to solve cello problems and taught her the best ways to tackle them. Christine is genuinely interested in every aspect of being a musician and thinks about music so seriously as to always try her hardest to respect it and represent the music in the most honest way. In addition to specific skills as a cello teacher, and integrity as an artist, Christine is a very professional and lovely person. Highly recommend!!

I worked with Christine this past summer at a music festival. She was informative, patient, and incredibly helpful in figuring out solutions to some of the technical difficulties I’ve had on the cello. She demonstrated a high-level of professionalism while being friendly and welcoming. My whole experience with her was a very supportive and positive one. I would highly recommend her as she is talented, professional, and fantastic to work with!

I was a student of Christine Lamprea for a year and it was an incredibly transformative experience. She approached her performances and private lessons with tremendous energy and dedication, inspiring me week after week to push myself further than I thought I could. Along with solo repertoire and chamber music coachings, the most valuable lessons Christine taught me regarded how to practice and perform more effectively. Even after our time together she's very approachable and supportive, and has even provided me with career-changing networking opportunities. Christine prepared me for my grad school auditions, and, as the acceptance letters start to roll in, I'm ever grateful for it.
