Barb's Continuo Home Music Lessons provided home lessons to my son. Not only was the instructor very talented, but they knew exactly how to interact with a young person to keep his interest throughout the lesson and encouraged practicing beyond the lesson. Barb is always prompt and goes out of her way to accomodate scheduling issues.

Tommy has been an amazing guitar, bass, and audio engineering teacher. Recently, we've been working together on some college auditions involving jazz bass, which I knew little of in terms of techniques and terminology. With Tommy's help, I've learned what would have taken me forever, and I feel a lot better about the audition process.

Over the coarse of 6 or so years Chris Schreiner has given me countless one on one bass lessons. Not only is he a personable guy, he always finds inventive ways to help a student succeed; Professionalism (on time, proper equipment, and real life experience), clear articulation (Terminology and Explanations), and positive attitude will not only encourage you but motivate you to do well. His versatility is also a plus. He has no problem catering to peoples musical needs no matter how far out it may be. All in all, great guy, great teacher!

I took guitar lessons for three years with Lou at U Music and the quality of instruction was incredible. Lou clearly knows what he's talking about when it comes to understanding the guitar. He provides a holistic and fun approach to learning the instrument, backed up by many years of experience as a musician and teacher. I would recommend him as a teacher to anyone from the earliest beginners to the most veteran guitar players. I'm also pleased to say that every one of the instructors at U Music is friendly and easy to talk to. I took voice lessons with Ann (which were also fun and helpful), and I've had numerous chats about music and other things with both Greg the bass teacher and Nick the drum instructor. Great people, great instruction in my experience, and altogether a great place to learn about the wonderful world of music.

Chip has been giving my son guitar lessons for well over a year. He’s kind, patient and has really fostered passion in my son for the guitar. The improvement in his playing ability has been amazing. Chip even came to support my son and his band at their first public performance. He always goes above and beyond. As one local musician recently told me, “Chip is a legend around here!” I highly recommend Chip.

About

I am a Fairfield, CT based professional guitar and bass instructor serving Fairfield, Westport, and the surrounding towns. I teach all styles except classical, and all ages, and levels from beginner to pro. In addition, I have a music degree, have been playing and teaching for many years, and have played with some musicians of note in the past, including with one of the founding members of the supergroup Santana, among others. Please excuse my not having a website, as most of my students hear of me via word-of-mouth, as I have many students in the general Fairfield/Westport/Trumbull and surrounding towns area. I look forward to hearing from you, thanks!

About

I am a seasoned musician playing live for over 40 years. My first instrument is bass, but I can also teach beginner guitar, keyboards or how to write your own music on computer using M.I.D.I. (musical instrument digital interface). Do not be fooled by my years, I still play in an extremely high-end rock band, and can play all styles of bass playing. I am patient, friendly, I have a good sense of humor, and I get results. I am a good communicator and I have a method of how to look at your instrument without it intimidating you. Each student has different goals, each one wants to play different music, if you have the desire and willingness to practice, you will see steady progress.

About

I have 35 years of playing in rock bands, on the guitar and the bass. I play classic rock and pop. My specialty is teaching students how to play in a band, what effects to use, how to read tabs as well as how to create the sounds to allow the student to stand out. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced students are welcome.

About

Become a working bass player. Most people take up bass guitar because they want to jam with friends and maybe start a band. As a working professional for over 35 years, I will get you started on the track to quick fun and success. Start playing songs you enjoy. Learn the proper technique. Some music theory is a must and is incorporated.

About

I have always believed that the pursuit of any discipline in the arts stimulates the imagination, fine tunes motor skills, and is generally good for the soul. Learning a musical instrument can be a wonderfully rewarding experience, regardless of the style of music you pursue. I have been playing guitar for 41 years since I was a lad of 10, and I have been teaching for the last 31 years, offering private lessons at a very affordable price. Now, at age 51, I still genuinely love my craft and enjoy interacting with students of all ages and levels! Lessons are given in the comfort of my home studio. You will learn to read music notation, guitar notation, and tablature. I shall teach you the benefits of music theory, improvisation, and good technique. As you progress, I will help you with learning to master the songs that you want to play.

About

I began my study of guitar in 2002, learning from a jazz guitarist who's established in the local music scene. My musical training continued through college when, in 2008, I began studying music at Northeastern University, majoring in music with a concentration in history and analysis. While at Northeastern, I took guitar lessons from faculty and performed in the University's Jazz Choir as well as its blues rock ensemble. Simultaneously, I gained experience in teaching guitar, working at a music and youth initiative music clubhouse. At the music clubhouse, I acted as a mentor and guitar teacher to the under-served youth.
