Emily has been more than just a tutor for me. What I thought would be a temporary situation to prepare for the ACT turned into a 2 year (and continuing) relationship. Emily not only helped me gain entrance to my top school through getting my best grades and an admissions appeal, but she continues to help me keep my grades in college up through regular FaceTime tutoring sessions (sometimes with very little notice). More than anything, Emily is a mentor and has become almost a part of the family. If you want a tutor who will get to know you and your learning style, Emily is the best.
Niquesha is very professional and she value education. Her tutoring style is unique and so children are able to pass there Regeants and State test. I strongly recommend her.
He is knowledgeable, patient and genuinely enjoys teaching and helping students learn Math! My daughter has been with Mr. Baskin for 2 years! My daughter went from not understanding Math to enjoy Math! The way he teaches Common Core is so much easier to understand. I would definitely recommend him!
I was contacted right away with a highly skilled educator and have the tutor I want within 24 hours. And the rates are very doable. Love it!
My name is Pat. I am a math instructor at Binghamton University. I have taught Calculus I and Calculus II. Students typically understand the basic concepts of Calculus, that the derivative represents the slope of a tangent line, that a definite integral represents the signed area under a curve, and that the indefinite integral is a differentiable function and it's derivative is the integrand. Performing the calculations requires knowledge of algebra and trigonometry. Apparently, many students do not have the proper foundations in these subjects. It appears that they don't understand Calculus. In reality, they don't understand enough algebra and trigonometry to perform the calculations for Calculus. I decided to start to tutor students in algebra and trigonometry. I got numerous requests to tutor students in geometry. I began preparing students for the regents tests in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. As I have been a stay-at-home-Dad, I was very involved in my girls' education. I taught them geometry, algebra, and discrete mathematics. They are now captains of their math teams. I also taught them reading to comprehend. In doing so, I became familiar with both the SAT and ACT. I have several test preparation books for both of these standardized tests.
Sue was my GRE tutor! She's a remarkable person with solid math foundation and interesting way of expressing her ideas. She's awesome!
Ben Paris is an excellent SAT tutor. In less than 10 hours he helped me improve my overall score by 300 points, from a 1960 to a 2260! He was able to explain solutions clearly and concisely, and identify larger patterns in my test-taking approach. He was able to help me with a wide range of skills, from my approach to critical reading passages to my ability to eliminate wrong answers. He was particularly good at helping me to both address my weakness, and maximize my strengths, in order to achieve my highest potential score.
One of the greatest people I've ever met one of the greatest math teachers I've ever learned from she's really patient she took her time
I am a certified elementary and special education teacher. I have 10 years' experience, and I have worked with children, from preschool to 6th grade. I specialize in "closing the gaps" that some students may have, during the school year, and would love to help children keep those gaps closed over the summer. I am specializing in the Wilson Reading Program, Reading Recovery Work, as well as Phonics and Phonemic Awareness. If you feel your child needs support over the summer, I am the person to call. Please feel free to call me to discuss your child's learning needs, and remember, the end of school is just around the corner. Openings are available starting June 27th. I hope to hear from you soon.
I have a master's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in mechanical engineering. I've done tutoring work at Louisiana Tech University, tutoring students in the math department and also worked as a math instructor at Northern Virginia Community College. I will work closely with you to help explain, solve, and practice problems with the goal to get you to achieve the best possible results and to have a good time doing it!
I enjoy helping students with their academics.
I provide services in tutoring for all subjects for college and below: history, reading, algebra, geometry, chemistry and English.
It should be a relief - not a chore - to see your math tutor. I am there to help unravel anything confusing and lay things out plain and simple. Every student needs something a little bit different, whether it be a certain metaphor to help with multiplication or a visual to help with matrices. I'll try to find that "aha!" moment with you without too much busywork and just enough practice.

My name is Alex Silverman. Im a rising junior with a major in economics at the University of Rochester, and Im relieved to have a break from snow! I am offering a one-on-one mathematics tutoring service for levels of Calculus I and below. I, myself, have taken math up through Calculus II and have tutored a couple of U of R students in Calculus I. I understand that people learn differently. For this reason, one-on-one tutoring can illuminate concepts that are otherwise not fully understood in a class of 30 students in which the teacher can only explain things in so many ways. I try to understand how the student is approaching the topic so that I may tweak my approach. I am available on weekdays and weekends, after 6:30 p.m. If you are interested, payment can be adjusted depending on your location.
I teach computer and other subjects such as math, algebra, science school and I am a pet sitter. Contact me for more information.
Most of the students I work with are successful. All it takes is a little personal attention to find where a student struggles and a way to help them succeed. Because piano or guitar lessons are one on one the instruction can be tailored directly to the needs and interests of the student. It's so great to see someone who hasn't been successful before or who has struggled with a subject pass an exam or a course.
I'm a retired special education teacher with more than 20 years' experience. I am looking to tutor students in need of extra help with reading, writing, language arts, math, and content area subjects.
I have a proven track record of success working with students of all ages and abilities, including those in Special Education and ESOL. I enjoy being creative and trying out different strategies until I find the right one(s) for each student. I have NYS certifications in ESOL, Special Education, and Elementary Education. I also have my International TEFL certification and American Red Cross certifications to teach lifeguard training, first aid, CPR, and AED. I currently work as a teacher in the Rochester City School District and it is my 19th year teaching all together.. I was the Aquatics Director for many years at Camp Good Days and Special Times and currently provide local clubs with staff certifications.
I would be interested in tutoring children in primary reading, comprehension, vocabulary, etc. I took Teaching of Reading beyond my BA degree from Utah State University through the mail.
