Rebecca is a wealth of knowledge about nutrition and wellness. I met her for her weight loss program and she set me on a successful track. I met my goal easily without giving up anything. Instead she taught me how to eat differently and what to eat with what. Rebecca explained what supplements to take and why. She taught me how what I eat and how the supplements interact with my body. I learned so much, I'm sad that our sessions are over. I will probably contact her in the future with new questions! I have recommended her to other people.

Marie has been very helpful in helping me meet complicated medical/nutritional goals through education & encouragement. I first met her when I entered The Healing Connection Eating Disorder PHP after I was diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder. Being much older than most of the participants and having many different issues including previous weight loss surgery, I did not agree with Marie and was sure I knew what was best for me. She was patient & kind. I tried doing things her way and am very happy with my physical health & weight loss (without being hungry!). The results proved she knows what she is doing. I am so pleased to have someone who really understands my needs, someone who "gets it" that I have chosen to continue to work with her privately. My only disappointment is that my insurance will not cover nutritional/dietary care. However, this is not within Marie's control. She really has a passion for clients & her work.

I enjoy working with Steve. His workout plans may focus on upper or lower body but always incorporate full body. His workout are always a little different each time which keeps it interesting and intense. He is very good at nutrition also. At first I thought it was a little extreme, but after taking baby steps I've lost 20lbs.in 5 months. I highly recommend Steve as a trainer.

I started training with Frank setting a goal to lose weight, develop a leaner physique, and have overall better health. I immediately trusted Frank, and developed a great relationship with the Natural Pro Fitness Coaching team. They have exceptional knowledge of body mechanics, muscle function, proper nutrition, and are capable of determining individual needs and abilities of their clients. Frank and Pete instill confidence and encouragement to make you want to work harder and apply yourself more diligently. Through their leadership, motivation, training, and healthy eating regiment, I started my journey at 126 lbs, and was able to lose 15 pounds while still gaining lean muscle mass. Frank coached me to take home 3rd place in my first competitive bikini contest. He gets you through difficult movements and most importantly ensures correct movement, reinforcing how important and beneficial it is to do things the RIGHT way. His nutrition plans have worked outstandingly. I am now eating clean and healthy with a better understanding of good portion control while being able to eat the foods that I love. I am leaner, much more toned and fit than ever before!

I was provided excellent 1 on 1 personal training from coach Pete. He advanced my program as time passed and as I was getting closer towards my goal. Aside from the training I was provided fitness assessments to track my progress, nutrition advice and life tips for small ways to make your daily routine healthier every session. learned a lot about how and why the body does what it does which made me more interested in my own bodies health. I also realized stretching is equally important as exercising.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
