FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to proceed after connecting is to set up a phone call to discuss the Suzuki teaching method and the lesson experience and expectations. From there I often recommend new families come observe a lesson of a current student to really understand the Suzuki Method.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Formal training includes a bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree in viola performance and literature. Also multiple units and courses of Suzuki Violin Teacher Training which is where I focus my instruction for both violin and viola. Please see the Suzuki Association of the Americas teacher directory for more details.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The Suzuki Method is a big family commitment and a beautiful family experience. I encourage potential families to fully engage and have a parent be an active part of the lesson learning and then be an active part and teacher in the practicing at home. This model is part of creating an environment for success. I encourage prospective families to visit the Suzuki Association of the Americas website to learn more about the fundamental principles of the Suzuki Method and what it means to be a Suzuki family.
