Lori is intuitive about how she teaches. I am sure if you are already a good musician or singer you will get better. I was never able to sing and we dealt with that successfully. She gave constant positive feedback and taught with enthusiasm. She presents herself as scattered and loves her persona. However, she is professional where it counts - her and my music. She will focus where you want but given the choice, she will start with the big issues and gradually work do the small ones always supporting you and encouraging you. She is very excited about getting a new white piano. She is excited about music, teaching, life.

I had my first lesson with Mrs. Melinda Benson this past week, and i cant wait for my next lesson! She was warm and friendly and seemed to love what she does! She seemed excited to teach what she loves doing(singing) and made me feel very comfortable to get started. Her approach was layed back and personal enough to make me at ease, but we were right down to business singing within minutes, which was awsome! Im excited to get on a consistant pace with this lady, anyone who can make me feel that comfortable upon our first meeting makes getting into a routine of lessons something im looking forward to...its encouraging to see a seasoned professional happily teaching***

Lisa is a delight to work with and a marvelous performer. Her exquisite harp-playing brought harmony and joy to my mother's outdoor life celebration, everyone loved her. In planning and executing the event, Lisa was helpful, proactive, gentle and thoroughly professional every step of the way from agreeing to work together, selecting and grouping the right pieces, arriving and setting up, playing, and finishing the event. I highly recommend Lisa's services, her music is stunningly beautiful!

Dennis is wonderful at helping me accomplish the goals I’ve set for myself and I highly recommend him as a music teacher. Although I’m not a guitar student, I’ve had Dennis work with me to help develop my skills with jazz. He makes lessons both interesting and challenging yet never leaves me feeling discouraged or feeling that that something is too difficult. I love that he gives me many strategies for learning new pieces, for developing my ear, and for improving my competence as a jazz musician (rhythmically, technically, harmonically, etc). I especially like that everything we work at gets applied in the context of playing real tunes – nothing is ever given in isolation without going on to the application of the skill during the lesson. I’ve been working with Dennis for 3 years now and continue to look forward to each lesson with him.

Angus is an incredible voice teacher, and has done much to help me improve my singing skills. He has been very patient in my development, and is always easy to reach if I have any questioms about his lessons - something he always makes sure to emphasize ever lesson. Angus has surpassed my expectations as a vocal instructor and I am very thankful for his expertise and instruction, and I look forward to working with him next year.

I began lessons with Brian as someone who has played in the past and can still read music. Despite this, he insisted on starting by not skipping the basic tools that would help me later on such as rhythmic clapping excercises and emphasizing the use of both hands while providing the accents in doing so. The pace begins slow but then quickly escalates the more comfortable you get. Brian's constant encouragement and patience in teaching basic principles set you up to begin practicing without feeling lost or discouraged. Brian was always willing to look up and transpose to a simpler version, any song I hoped to try, or he offered great reasons why I should hold off and what steps to take to get there. A fantastic teacher for anyone wanting results and willing to put the time in

About

I am a guitar teacher based out of Syracuse, NY. I have novice knowledge of guitar technique and theory. Whether you're looking to just learn some chords to play on your acoustic guitar around the camp fire, learn how to improvise with your friends in a jam session, learn about guitar theory and technique, or just want to increase your overall ability to learn and play music, I'm here to teach you. I've wanted to start teaching guitar to people a while ago, but could never really find a place to get started. I’m motivated and very interested in teaching what I think is an amazing art to anyone and everyone who wants to learn. Starting from the time I’ve written this, I’ve played guitar coming on 6 years now. I'm very dedicated to my art, and I love the feeling of showing other people that they can harness the power of music in their hands. It's a very good feeling to express yourself this way, plus it makes you look kind of cool.

About

I am offering private lessons on guitar or bass. I am a trained, experienced professional musician with over twenty five years in the business. Method plans are tailored to suit the needs and aspirations of each student, so results come quickly. Lessons take place in my home studio, and are 30 minutes long, once per week. The rate is $80 per month which includes four lessons. There are no other charges; all recordings and written materials are included. References are available upon request. I accept all ages and levels. My youngest student is six, my oldest is sixty. Learn the basics with chords and play some of your favorite songs, or delve into advanced harmony, scales and improvisation. Over the years, I have played jazz, blues, country, rock and more. I love what I do and it shows in the playing of my students.

About

I am a private vocal instructor based in Central New York State. My career as a private voice teacher began when I was a sophomore in high school with my own private studio of nine students with whom I met weekly. I temporarily disbanded my studio in 2013 but would like to begin teaching again now that I have more tools to shape and guide students as they work to find their voices and enjoy music making.
