I am 69 and always wanted to be able to draw. Never could do anything much beyond stick figures. Faces? Forget it. But look what I've accomplished after about 10 lessons, copying a Matisse portrait using Conte crayons (and I work very slowly)!!! Kelsey is a patient and intuitively gifted teacher and a delight to sit across from as I learn. I'm so glad that I found her. I highly recommend that you study with her too.

We had my daughters 7th Birthday Party and had 15 girls attend. Carina did a wonderful job. She made sure that the child sitting in her chair had her undivided attention and it was about making that child's face painting experience special. My daughter wants Carina to come back next year.

Absolutely Amazing!! Kelli created a beautiful piece of are for my new apartment in Brooklyn at the end of 2014. Throughout the creation of the work, Kelli would provide constant updates and request feedback to ensure everything we envisioned was coming to fruition. The painting is perfect and I have it hanging in the center of my living room today. I have received countless compliments on the work and feel very fortunate to have worked with her and hope to do so again.

What can I say about Michael? He is one of the best mural artist and painters I have ever seen. His designs were beyond what I ever expected. He knew exactly what I wanted and added so much life to the painting that I did not think possible. I highly recommend him for any type of painting. He was quick, clean, a blast to watch and just a positive person to do business with.

We were looking for an artist to teach our son. Other parents in the neighborhood highly recommended Carolynne because she not only created an amazing commissioned artwork for their home, but they also expressed how delighted they were with the warm connection and how their child responded to her unique art lessons. She is a very talented artist and art instructor with a strong background in elementary education. Each week she arrives with a new painting project and our son eagerly anticipates the class. Professional grade non-toxic materials / tools are used each time and our child responds with his devoted attention and desire to learn a new art lesson. The projects not only teach art history, they are all about the application of new techniques with the gentle guidance she gives. The result is amazing but even more important is that each lesson we see positive growth in his focus and self-esteem. We would highly recommend Carolynne to anyone that is looking for not only expert art instruction, but remarkable creativity, kindness and energy.

Angela has an Amazing painting/drawing talent. I was thinking of doing a room over, I gave Angela a little hint of what I was thinking. She took my idea and ran with it. Angela made my thoughts and dreams far better and true. I would have never thought about the possibilities. Great Job, can't wait for the next idea.

One of the most difficult things about moving from our old house to our new one was leaving the fabulous walls that Peri painted in our dining room. She created a magical space in which many meals were enjoyed and I still miss that room today. I was delighted when Peri agreed to travel to our new house and work her magic on a powder room and our dining room here…two of our favorite places in our house now. I will always be thankful we commissioned Peri for a canvas painting that we love and will take with us wherever we go! Peri is a joy to be around and an amazingly talented artist. While I'm thrilled she's thriving in NYC, I selfishly would like to have her back in California!

Hi, I have been working with Matt since 2012 for both my own painting work and for my daughter who is a teen. Matt encourages research (brings art history into the process ), observation, and drawing what you see - he covers different approaches to the disciplines: drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, print-making, mixed media, giving my daughter tools that she used to complete her portfolio. Matt helped her create the right type of work for and to edit and fine tune her portfolio. The completed portfolio was a huge confidence booster for her. Matt's training was a huge help in preparing for applying to art high schools and helped to get accepted into Laguardia HighSchool. I highly recommend him.

Sam created an oil painting for me as a gift to my husband. Wow, he did an amazing job! We met a couple of times to discuss what I wanted; he was able to carry out my vision to museum quality work. Sam is very professional; he worked within the timeframe we agreed upon, delivered the artwork and was able to recommend a good framer. I’m so glad I went to Sam, awesome guy, spectacular artist!

I am a well trained as an artist and have a great way of dealing with people. I truly enjoy showing and helping people to express their abilities as creativity goes. These days people do not use the old school, pencil to paper often enough. The very young may never have someone who helps them use the skills that everyone has to an extent. There is no greater feeling than helping someone discover their talents and abilities. The hands on experience will change any person or child. It brightens their view of the world and gives them confidence to experiment with creativity and ultimately grow.

      About

I teach basic techniques in drawing, sketching, and other forms of art to adults as well as children. I let the student grow at his or her own pace. It would be a 10 week program and at the end we evaluate to see if you wish to continue into doing more. Drawing brings out the beauty that is within. I tell my students that "a pencil in the hands of an artist is the eyes of their soul."

      About

I am a Brooklyn based teacher of figurative and abstract painting. My career began after I became a teaching artist for kids at an after-school program and loved the feeling of teaching new skills to my students. Since then, I've been dedicated to crafting the talent within emerging artist.
