Southwest Music Studio

Introduction: Southwest Music Studio first opened its doors in December of 2001 with a specific mission: to provide private and group instruction for the serious music student. Since that time, we strive to fulfill that goal by providing lessons, classes, and performing opportunities for students of all ages in the northeast Ohio area. Although our primary focus is on private lessons, we also have provided experiences in small jazz combo recitals, as well as classes in music theory and jazz improvisation. Southwest Music Studio is not a retail music store nor a recording studio. There are many such fine operations all over the greater Cleveland area. Our "niche" is to be a bridge between the parents/students and the school music programs. Studies have proved that the best student musicians in any school band/orchestra/jazz band program take private lessons. Students from Southwest Music Studio continually play at the top of their sections in their marching, concert, and jazz bands, as well as orchestras. We are proud of the many talented students who have passed through our doors. Some have gone on to careers in music performance, music therapy, music composition, and music education. Many others could have gone into music, but have chosen other paths, including pre-med, business, psychology, sales, as well as many other career paths. They have gone on to attend universities, such as Case Western Reserve, Dartmouth, Yale, Ohio State, Ohio University, Cleveland State University, Baldwin Wallce University, Mount Union, University of Cincinnati, Bowling Green, and many other fine schools, both public and private. If you would like your student to excel as musicians, we offer private lessons on saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe, and piano, as well as music theory and jazz improvisation. We also offer opportunities for small jazz combos, as well as rehearsal space for solo and ensemble contest. Finally, we have a number of adult students who want to reconnect or study music for the first time.
