A former Berklee College of Music associate professor, Christian Howes established his groundbreaking Creative Strings Workshop in 2003 -- a week-long camp happening yearly in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio, which draws students of all ages and from throughout the world. Through versed instruction from some of the leading creative string players and a vivid performance schedule at venues all over the city, participants earn experience with improvisation-based music and the life of a gigging musician.
He has been invited to teach or present at Singapore International String Conference, The New School, Oberlin College, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of New Mexico, Ohio State University, University of Southern California, NAMM, IAJE, IMEA, OMEA, KASTA, FMEA, AASTA, the Jazz Connections, Mark O'Connor Fiddle Camp and hundreds of high schools and middle schools.
