I've had chronic back pain for over 10 years. I've had surgeries and have seen doctors and specialists all over the country. A few months ago, I decided to try out a personal trainer. I randomly came across Bethany's account on thumbtack. When I met with her I knew I was in good hands. I have had plenty of physical therapists over the years. None of them come close to Bethany's care and attention she gives her clients. She is by far the most knowledgable, caring and committed trainer there is. She works with you and takes a sincere interest in helping you achieve your goals. I've been seeing Bethany for almost 3 months and I can't believe the positive nature she brings to each and every session. She truly wants to to help people achieve their goals. I would recommend anyone to go to her. Whether you are wanting to lose weight, gain flexibility, try yoga or just feel better about who they are, Bethany is the one to go to.

Bethany has been great! She has worked steady with me on balance, flexibility and overall fitness. I can once again do things I could only do when I was much younger. I would recommend Bethany for anyone who is looking for a coach who can help them meet their goals.

Dodi is an amazing yoga instructor!! She is able to modify positions for multiple joint issues for multiple people all in the same class and you never feel inferior. She also helps you learn to believe in yourself and love yourself. I haven't tried her more advanced classes yet, but I have a friend that has and loves them. As a person that never thought she would want to do yoga I have become a convert and have been recommending it to my friends!

I am so pleased to have found Dodi and Restoring Light Yoga. There are a wide variety of classes for everyone and every level. The classes are a good mix of physical, mental, and spiritual. Using the rope wall is something everyone should try!

I really enjoy the personal attention and the consideration of each yoga student's experience and needs during class. The rope wall lends support and lets me go deeper into the poses.

While I am new to energy healing and meditation, and I came into my first few appointments with a skeptical heart, after four sessions with more planned I have the following to report. Reiki has value. It’s mostly intangible and unmeasurable however for someone with cardiac anxiety after having suffered a heart attack nearly three years ago, Reiki is providing me with a framework that allows me to manage my physiological response to panic. Now, this is weird because I’m a man that typically has everything under control. At all times. Yet I’ve learned that there are times when we need to seek help. Daniel is a key part of this help for me right now. And while I can’t empirically measure the results, I am clearer, I can better manage my minds response to the cardiac panic I experience when my brain tells me I’m fine because my body scans return negative yet it also sends off the alarm bells as if a fire were raging for 6 to 12 hours. The duration of these episodes are shortening now and I feel that Daniels work has had a direct impact on this for me. If you are dealing with any chronic condition I highly recommend trying this out and keeping an open mind until you, hopefully, experience some of the same positive benefits I have recently enjoyed. I’m a hardliner but his professionalism, knowledge and the work itself have made me a believer in this practice.

Daniel has introduced me to Reiki and it’s methods of healing, at first I was just curious and unsure but knew from Daniel’s involvement in Yoga that he is very educated, serious and focused so I knew that he would be the same with Reiki. I had been having some healing issues from surgery and I truly believe that Reiki with Daniel has dramatically increased my recovery. I truly believe in his knowledge and would without a doubt recommend him.

Daniel has been my Reiki Master for only a short period of time, but in my few sessions I’ve reached an element of calm and self care that I hadn’t had before. A feeling of being centered and balanced are my take aways, and I’m looking forward to exploring reflexology and yoga in the near future. Daniel’s love for his craft really shines through and I think he’s a wonderful addition to anyone seeking self care and improvement.

Abby Miller is an outstanding, incredibly knowledgeable Yogi with a remarkably calming, encouraging, and patient, yet attentive presence that makes each Yoga Lesson not only a joyful and meditative experience, but also a substantial work out stretching and holding in order to balance not only your body, but your chakras and mind as well. Abby's joyful and relaxing aura is matched by immense knowledge of several schools and styles of both yoga and guided meditation. Her love and commitment of Yoga and helping people live healthier, happier, and more balanced existences lead her to receive her Yogi certification as a licensed instructor comfortable and capable of providing the perfect level of private, intimate and personalized instruction to each individual student regardless of their skill level with Yoga. Her kind demeanor and comforting teaching style lends itself perfectly to create a fulfilling, challenging, and highly beneficial session for both beginners who may be new to the art, and skill of Yoga, as well as providing a satisfying and intense session for more advanced and learned Yoga students. The benefits of Abby's private lessons are great to say the least. The personal one on one sessions ensure that The lesson is designed and focused specifically on the student allowing Abby's undivided attention and vigilance evaluating and adjusting the student's strengths, weaknesses, and the goals they hope to achieve through expert one on one Private Yoga Training. Each lesson is personalized for the individual student allowing the most effective results to be achieved. Abby Miller was regarded by her Yogis, Mentors, and fellow instructors as one of the finest, most capable, versatile, and dedicated teachers, guides, and Instructors among her peers. I have taken Yoga classes in several states over several years and I completely and honestly consider Abby Miller to be the greatest Yogi I have had the honor of studying under. Either in person or even via Skype each session has been more than worth the incredibly reasonable fee for such an in depth and private session. Each lesson I've taken from Yogi Abby has left me in a state of physical, mental, emotional, and mindful balance comfort and joy. I cannot recommend participating in these amazing private sessions from a true Yoga Master and utterly kind, and positive human being enough. You will always feel like a new person after participating in Abby Miller's Private and Personalized Yoga Sessions. Abby truly has a way to balance a student out as well as supply th with knowledge, breathing techniques, and several other invaluable resources the student may use outside of the private session, to increase their peace of mind, general mindfulness, va, and balance. Abby's rates are so very affordable, and I would more than gladly pay double or three times the rate for the sheer quality and quantity of these expertly instructed Private Yoga Sessions. Simply put, Abby Miller is by far the greatest Yogi I've ever learned from and I would rather have a session with her over Skype than a less qualified, talented, knowledgeable, in tune instructor in person. After you experience a private session with Abby, you will never also consider a group lesson or even a private lesson from a less qualified and talented Yogi. Abby Miller is the best Yogi I've ever worked with, and I cannot recommend her private Yoga Sessions strongly enough. Your life will change drastically for the better.

Abby excels greatly as a Yoga Instructor. She works in a way that enables people at diverse levels of experience to benefit from the practice. I had not practiced yoga in over 5 years before joining Abby's weekly sessions; both she and I recognize how my practice grows stronger with each week. Abby also provides an extremely comfortable environment and can successfully execute classes with large groups of people, as well as more intimate sessions with just a few people. Her readings at the beginning of each class, as well as the music selections, encourage us to feel inspired as we enter each session. I learned with Abby to also dedicate my practice to something or someone, which brings new meaning my experience with yoga.

Cathy is a wonderful yogi! I really enjoy how she obviously takes time and thought to make each class unique and meaningful. She blends exercise with thoughts to ensure your mind gets a workout also. She adds inspiring music and her caring personality to make our practices the highlight of my week. I highly recommend you take her group or private sessions - both are fantastic.

Frank is an awesome yoga teacher. He's helped me modify poses for an injury, and persistent lower back pain. My back pain is almost non-existent now. Yoga, and his teaching have been a lifesaver for me. I recommend him to everyone.

Trisha is amazing! She is extremely passionate about what she does and puts you in a moment of zen that you'll think about all day! She is supportive, knowledgable, helpful and makes you feel so comfortable! I'm certainly a beginner when it comes to Yoga and there are certain parts that are very difficult for me but Trisha walks me through them personally. When I finish, I feel motivated, excited, proud of myself and ready to come back to it! Good job Trish! Keep up the good work!

About

I stepped onto the mat for the first time in 1999 and have been hooked on yoga ever since. Om Yeah! I truly feel like yoga was the hand that was extended to help me pick myself up off the ground and do something to both better myself and to help others do the same. I believe that through mindful breathing, stretching and sweating, yoga is a tool that anyone can use to live better, laugh more often and love to his/her fullest potential. I am an eclectic, energetic and committed yoga teacher and student of yoga. My teaching style is unique, and my classes are designed not only to be challenging and invigorating, but also restorative to help you cultivate and maintain your emotional balance. They are designed this way because I believe that yoga is not only a physical practice, but also an emotional and mental one. Guillaume Apollinaire, a French poet, wrote, “Come to the edge," he said. They said, "We are afraid." "Come to the edge," he said. They came. He pushed them, and they flew. Join me on the mat, and let’s see what’s over that ‘edge’ together.

About

I create yoga practices tailored to your needs as well as guided meditation and yoga nidra. From beginner to moderate lessons, we will work from where you are. My teaching focuses on bringing you to a level of comfort, releasing stress and tension for a better state of being in your body and mind. It's not just about the poses, it's about your whole being. I can help you to create a personalized exercise routine integrating yoga postures to focus on strength and flexibility, design classes to relieve stress, and relaxation and meditation practices personalized to your wants and needs. What goes in to a quote: I believe many people think that rates for private yoga lessons are outrageous. I understand where this comes from. But it certainly is not the case that teachers who charge more than, say, $20/hr are price gouging. To help illuminate why rates for private lessons are what they are, or should be, I want to go over what any yoga teacher who respects themselves, their students/clients, and the dedication it takes to be aware and present for their students, should take into consideration when deciding on what to charge. Education Both the initial training to become certified at the 200 hour level, as well as continuing education requirements cost money. Lots of money. Any teacher is a constant student, whether through courses, books, or classes they take themselves. Any art dealing with the human body and mind is deep and requires a constant state of being teachable and a desire to take in more. Recurring Costs Liability insurance, renewal of certification through Yoga Alliance and other organizations, equipment, taxes, CPR certification, etc. Travel Expenses Both to and from your location, or the location we are meeting (gas, car maintenance, etc.). Planning A teacher spends more time working for you than just that hour or so we are together. For every hour lesson there are at least two hours spent preparing and refining a lesson plan each week tailored to your needs and goals. Daily Practice Any good teacher has a personal practice they do every day. This allows us to teach from a place of experience and authenticity, instead of simple recitation of poses and sequences. Yes, we benefit from our personal practice, but it's also training and gaining insights that we will bring to teaching you. Being a yoga teacher is running a one person business, and as such it comes with all the expenses we don't typically think about when we compare what a teacher quotes for their services versus what we may get paid per hour at a job. On top of all this are the living costs everyone has to take care of. If a teacher quotes you anything less than $40/hr they are not doing you or themselves a service. Either they are in a situation where they do not need to make a living through their teaching, or are desperate for teaching opportunities and devaluing what they have to offer. Note: Rates can be more affordable if you have a small group (3-5 people) to split the cost with. This will make lessons less individualized, but can be a better option if you have a few friends who are interested in yoga or meditation.

About

I came to yoga in 2014 as a true “yoga skeptic” when my mounting collection of running injuries finally forced me to put away the tennis shoes for awhile and find a more balanced physical workout. I quickly fell in love with the connection of movement to breath and the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of the practice. I am registered with Yoga Alliance and completed her 200 Hour training program with GoYoga in Columbus, Ohio. I teaches power vinyasa and yin/deep stretch classes/private lessons. My power classes tend to be challenging, energetic, and fun, while my yin classes focus on the function of each pose and the sensations created in the body. Both classes have an equal amount of laughter and good vibes. Both styles of yoga offer different healing benefits for the body, mind, and spirit.

I have 3 small children, a tight schedule, I'm really out of shape and want to lose weight from having twins in June, and I have minor scoliosis that causes back pain, and I've heard yoga is excellent for strengthening and pain relief. I have a somewhat flexible budget, but I can't afford anything too high since my fiancée is supporting our family while I stay home to raise the kids.
