FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I take into account the time I normally spend meeting and traveling, as well as preparing and participating in the wedding ceremony. I am willing to negotiate the fee for my services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know the couple via phone and in-person (if possible) is the first step. A meeting held in a home, restaurant, etc., enables the couple and me to gain a better appreciation of each other, as well as to have a discussion of their wedding plans, wants and needs. In most cases the ceremony can be drafted at that meeting or shortly thereafter. If there is not a wedding rehearsal, then the emails, texts and calls can be used to critique and finalize the ceremony. My goal is always to create a special, meaningful and personal experience for the couple -- a "Wedding of Joy."
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Divinity degree from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (an accredited Christian graduate institution) and over 25 years of daily interactions/ministries with or for individuals, couples and families. Being a pastor has provided me the opportunity to walk alongside those who are or who are not members of a church as they are experiencing life milestones.
