The lessons are going great, and I’m practicing fundamentals, which I’m really excited about. I love Harrison’s approach. It’s vastly different from what I was initially taught over a decade ago in my piano class, and it just clicks for my brain way better. Learning with chords shows piano in a different light — it’s not so clinical. I’m learning the chords and connecting more with the music. I’m excited to be able to sit down and either look at sheet music and just start playing, or even not do that, because I’ve learned chords and I’m able to hear the music and play a song based on how I remember it sounding."See more

Joe D. says, "I'm a trumpet player and have taken lessons from Ron for about 2 years. He is very informative and and very easy to understand. We have gone over the jazz scales/chords and how to fit them into improvisation as well as taking a good look at the chord stucture of a song. He always having me play the 3rd's and 7th's to get the flavor of the tune. He's a "superb" Musician!!! Maybe have a "practice CD" to work with until we have another session. Keep doing what your doing!!!"See more

She has been a fantastic teacher for this adult beginner. I have appreciated her teaching methods, her encouragement and support and flexibility with my schedule changes over the years. I feel like Isidora was able to meet me where I was at the beginning and really helped to stretch me further than I thought I could go (e.g., playing in a recital). My life priorities have changed and so I am discontinuing lessons at this time, but not because I don't feel like I could still continue to grow and learn with Isidora. I hope I will be able to return to lessons with her in the future. In the meantime, I have the knowledge and skills to continue to play for my own enjoyment, which was my goal from the beginning of taking lessons.
