Trent is an excellent teacher who inspires you to learn your favorite songs while learning about the guitar itself at a reasonable price.
I was seeking guitar lessons to improve my entry-level skills and to be able to write some songs. Just under a year later, I understand various different scales (major, minor, and some modes) and when to use them. I also have a comfortable grasp of the different chords and chord shapes. I was planning to focus on just rock n roll but I've been introduced to a much broader array of music including funk, blues, jazz, reggae, and metal as well as different techniques used within each genre. Lessons have been great and have helped me learn not only what to play, but why I'm playing it too. I cannot say enough good things about Justin who has an answer to any question and an accessible teaching style (which is saying a lot when referring to guitar). Every time I leave my lesson I feel that I've improved and I have the support to inspire me to keep improving.
I took weekly guitar lessons from Johnny A about 10 years ago when I was 12-13. I had to stop when high school started to accommodate a football/basketball practice schedule, but continued to schedule 1-time lessons to learn specific skills (like slide playing, etc.) He helped mix the lessons into a combination of what I "wanted" to learn (to keep me interested) and what I needed to learn (to progress as a guitar player). 10 years later, I'm hopelessly addicted to the guitar. I have a number of friends who started lessons (with different teachers) and gave up on it early because it wasn't fun. Well, Johnny A helped hook me early, helped me get through the frustrating first weeks, and helped turn me into an guitar player who has actually been paid to play. I'd recommend John to anyone looking for a new addiction.
After trying to learn guitar casually on my own for a few years, I decided to seek out lessons. When I compared a few places I felt like Brian Armor would be a good teacher. I started taking weekly lessons a few months ago and chose a favorite rock song to learn. Since then I've added several songs and feel great about my progress. Brian is good at teaching things quickly. He knows how to adapt to my pace and scale it down. He gives me a good sense of where I'm at and what to work on, including reminders to avoid my bad habits. I'm impressed that Brian can listen to a song and is able to play it by ear, with the right tuning, key, and rhythm. Overall I'm having fun, playing songs I like (not just scales and chord progressions), and looking forward to getting better. Guitar lessons are my favorite part about Mondays! I highly recommend guitar lessons with Brian.
My name is Tim Economu from the band Ol'Dixie Wrecked Geoff and I played in a band together for a good little while I was a experienced guitar player when we got together Geoff is a great teacher He help me advance my skills to much higher limits than I ever expected myself to be able to do In my experience with him I learned a lot . He will push you to play better He is not just a great guitarist but a great teacher also. I would highly recommend him not only for beginners but experience to guitar players as well
John has been my guitar teacher for several years and he has been a wonderful mentor. He is very skilled and does an extremely good job at explaining his musical knowledge. Whether it comes to jazz, classical rock, blues, alternative, or really any genre of music, John is an expert. He teaches lessons and plays at various venues with his band or as a solo act. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced guitarist and teacher.
Overall good experience. My kids really seem to enjoy the music lessons
I've been taking voice lessons with Allison for 4 months. Allison is knowledgable and professional. The lessons are enjoyable and I'm seeing improvement in my singing. I appreciate her willingness to let me choose some of the songs I'm learning and the flexibility to work around my schedule. I'm an older adult who has wanted to take voice lessons for a long time. I'm glad I finally started and that I found the Sharp School of Music.
I have over 20 years experience performing, recording, and teaching music, mostly guitar. I know music theory in and out and can play anything I hear from ear. I give personal attention to every student and not only have a vested interest in their progress for their own enjoyment and satisfaction, but also because it reflects me as their teacher. So, instead of going to one of the big music chains and getting charged $30 for a half an hour and a "cookie cutter" lesson, contact me and not only get double the time (a full hour for only $25), but also an instructor who actually wants to help you realize your full potential. Few musicians are actually "gifted". It requires the right instruction, the right instructor and your desire to learn. With that, you can play anything you want!
I have a BA in music and three years of teaching experience, both voice and piano. I will work within your musical tastes to help you reach your highest level of musicianship.
I teach the students what they want to learn. I don't use the same lesson plan for every student. Each student has a personal lesson plan made specifically for what they want.
Extremely patient teacher. Customize lessons to each student. I'm happy to teach beginning students.
I believe in what I do.
The purpose of the Well Oiled Vocal Studio is to provide each student with the tools they need to produce easy and beautiful sounds in all genres, using practical instruction and positive reinforcement. I specializes in college -- prep as well as postgraduate repertoire. My audition knowledge and close relationship with many voice faculty around the country helps my sense of repertoire choices for young and mature singers alike. Though all students are welcome to audition, the private studio does not take students younger than thirteen years old.

I am here to help you accomplish your personal musical goals.
I offer hands-on guitar lessons to the students' preference. I am an accomplished young guitar player who plays in all genres of music.
I believe that music is a powerful and transformative skill for people of all ages to learn. Children who study music routinely perform better in school and are more likely to graduate. Music education gives the gift of being able to express oneself, which I believe to be one of the greatest gifts a person can give another. In signing for lessons with me, you will have someone in your corner to help explain things like technique, theory, and timbre. I offer the first lesson for free as my chance to audition to be your teacher.
I offer all styles of guitar, mandolin, violin and banjo instruction. Learn to play like a pro from the Miami Valley's best instructor.
You learn to play better, so you can touch more hearts! I teach beginning guitar (all styles), classical guitar (all levels) and music theory and improvisation. I am a former university instructor with 30 years of experience.
