I was half way through my senior year at Gahanna Lincoln High School, and failing algebra 2. I was in danger of not graduating when my mom found Jesse. He worked with me twice a week until the end if the year. After just two weeks my grade went from failing to passing. My test and quiz grades improved significantly, my parents, teacher and even Jesse were impressed and very proud. I went from a 52% in algebra 2 to graduating with an 85%. My parents and I couldn't be more thankful for everything Jesse did for me. I wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

Lawrence or be able to communicate with someone in french or spanish or to know that the world is a large place and it can be theirs with a basis of education.

I offer academic tutoring services. I have two advance degrees and two undergraduate degrees. I enjoy teaching and helping others learn. Ever since I tutored college students at Franklin University, I have always wanted to pursue education by teaching learners. Now that I have a post master's in college teaching, I understand that every student is unique and have different learning styles. Every educator must know how to hone in on these learning styles to ensure that learning takes place.

For a short while prior to graduation, I was the tutoring supervisor of the department, and would help design the policies used to evaluate the scheduling system and other tutors. With all these facets, I know how to make a sessions productive and how to identify what problems a person is having in their class, as well as to identify what type of learner they are: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.

About

I am a tutor. I have extensive tutoring experience in a variety of fields. I have tutored in English and STEM subjects, specifically calculus. I have helped students learn to understand complex literature, comprehension, and mathematical concepts, developed an interest in the sciences, and helped improve test scores. Your program requires that tutors are able to assist students in multiple subjects, and my experience would allow me to do just that. I am able to work with diverse students of different backgrounds and knowledge bases very well. As a summer camp counselor, I have experience working with elementary- and middle-school students. I have also tutored high-school freshmen and seniors in algebra, calculus, and science. Through these tutoring and counseling positions, I have learned how to best teach diverse groups of students. For example, I drew diagrams and gave real-life examples to help my algebra students understand how the concepts of variables apply to real-life situations, to develop their interest while I used referencing to algebra and 3-dimensional graphs to explain conceptual topics to my calculus students. I am passionate about helping students improve in all academic subjects. I still remember my excitement when my calculus tutee received her first “A” on a test after struggling for a semester to understand the concepts and barely managing a “C” average! I am confident that my passion and experience are the qualities you are looking for in the tutor. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Isha Tyagi

About

As someone who was very recently a student himself, I have a closeness and familiarity with the particular brand of confusion that ails confused students that most older professional tutors do not. Contrary to popular belief, however, this confusion isn’t a bad thing - quite the opposite, it is essential to intellectual growth, the sweat of learning. Just as well as I know the feeling of not quite “getting” something, I know the immense joy that comes with overcoming it and excelling as a result. Over my 4 years as an instructor, I’ve seen the wonders that giving children a deep conceptual understanding of the basics, and showing them why everything they learn is exciting and interesting, can do. If given the chance, I believe I could help your child succeed with flying colors in academics and beyond.

About

I am currently a 4th-year going a 5th-year student at Ohio State. I'm an industrial systems and physics major, and I want to get my PhD someday. The idea of teaching is a very exciting job for me, and I want to aim to be a professor and do research. I want to tutor because I grew up in a tougher home environment and went to school based on loans, and I know what it's like to lose motivation. I can understand where kids are coming from when they're frustrated with school work, and I am confident the tutoring experience will benefit the person and me in the teaching experience.
