Gerry was always thoughtful, prompt and kind. He crafted a personal wedding ceremony that will truly always be ours. He helped made our ceremony so special, and guided us through all the steps happily. We can't thank him enough, it was wonderful!
He was very professional, and inspirational. Treated each member of our group like they had an individual purpose. I especially liked how he got everyone involved, and threw in some timely jokes. I would definetly have him back to speak again.
Chris is awesome to work with, she helped my son & I sort through some things after a divorce in our family. Our relationship is stronger than ever & she made it fun in the process!
Kyle pushes me to do weight and cardio exercises/reps that I would never do on my own! He knows my limits and pushes me to those extremes, all with a positive attitude and fun approach. He is always on time and has great follow through. He is top notch!
Music Therapy is the strategic use of interactive music interventions to work towards achieving a therapeutic goal. Goals in music therapy commonly include: improving communication skills, academic or cognitive skills, gross and fine motor skills, emotional skills, or social skills. Since music is a non-threatening medium, this type of therapy is effective and enjoyable for children. Some examples of children that could benefit from music therapy might exhibit symptoms of ADD & ADHD, autism or Asberger's syndrome, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, specific learning disabilities, visual impairments, speech or language impairments, or down syndrome. I accept clients with diagnosed disabilities and also those without any diagnosis. As long as the parents have concerns with the child's development, I will address those concerns through music therapy. Music Therapy services at Creative Canton Music Studio will start with a consultation to determine whether the client might benefit from music therapy. An assessment will be given in the first session to evaluate skills and identify areas that may need improvement. The therapist will create an individualized therapy plan with goals for the client. Regular 30 minute music therapy sessions will then occur once per week which include customized musical activities to help the client reach the therapeutic goals. Documentation of progress will be taken in each session and is made available to the client at the client's request. Courtney Pugh received her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and received her board-certification in August of 2009. She has experience working in a variety of settings with clients of various ages and disabilities during field experiences throughout college. If you would like to learn more about music therapy, visit the American Music Therapy Association's website or contact Courtney with questions.
