Was the best service. I thought my dog was aggressive and I took him to Angie. She did wonders with him and he graduated!! I highly recommend her and her business. My Duke was not aggressive at all. I would recommend taking your dog for any of the classes or for boarding.

Shelly, of Tailwaggers Dog Walking & Pet Sitting, gets 8-paws way up in the air from my two dogs, Olympia and Ramona. My dogs adore her ... I can tell because when I get home after a night of "Shelly-wagger's visits" my grrrrrlz run around the house searching for their 2nd mom. Shelly leaves incredibly descriptive notes after each visit (and she also includes the time of the day or night of her visits). She has acclimated herself to my dogs' quirks (one has to be "conned" off the back porch when it is raining, while the other has to be tricked and bribed with lots of love to come inside from the rain!). I am so thankful that I have met Shelly of Tailwaggers Dog Walking & Pet Sitting. I completely trust that each time I leave for the night that my grrrrlz are in great and loving hands!

I hired PAWS to walk my dogs during the day - I work long hours some days and the pups not only need a bathroom break but some stimulation and exercise. Phil is great with the girls - firm but loving and when I come home at night, they are much less rambunctious. He even asked me about any training they are familiar with and works to reinforce positive behavior. My most recent dog was a pain-in-the-leash but in just two weeks with Phil, it has become much better. I'll definitely keep using PAWS.

I was very pleased with the service that I received. The service was beyond my expectations as i received pictures and updates daily. Along with a few added extras of picking up my mail and watering my flowers. I will definitely use the dog sitting services again. Thanks for a job well done with my fur baby. You really made me feel at ease.

Kelly does a great job with our dog, Maria. Maria doesn't get along with just anyone but loves Kelly!

About

I am very reliable and good with pets. I'm an extreme dog lover. I'm fit and in shape, so I can walk miles if possible.

About

I have been training dogs for over 25 years. I believe dogs do not do things for no reason. Many times behavioral problems are caused by the repetition and constituency of their family/pet parent. Stopping a behavior as it is a thought verses an action; teach the human to read their dog and understand why the dog is doing what they are doing can normally solves most "bad" dog issues. Some if not all can be controlled by using basic obedience. A strong foundation is the key to success. Obedience and helping pet parents understand their dog is one of the many services I provide. I also offer pet sitting, (your home, small dogs mine as well) IKT ( In kennel training) and I have to say...I love cats and also offer cat sitting:) The most rewarding part of my job is keeping a pet from having to be rehomed due to lack of obedience or behavioral issues. Assisting my clients with their needs as they arise and allowing senior, shy and happy go lucky pets to stay in their home while their family go on short vacations.

About

I take a personal approach to my job. For many pets, staying at home is a better choice then being put in a new environment. There is less chance of picking up diseases, or stress of not being in a pet's own environment. I have visited many facilities and see that the dogs are given food and shelter, but not much personal attention, which I can readily share with them. My other service offered is dog walking. When I walk a dog I am fully aware of my surroundings so as to keep our walk safe and stress free. I am considerate about picking up dog waste, as I care about our environment. I am insured and bonded, plus have had a background check from a place of employment. I love meeting new people and getting to enjoy their pets. The pets in my care all have different personalities, with likes and dislikes. It is fun to play with them. I do not overbook so that I can spend quality time with my cats and dogs. It is a pleasure to give owners a peace of mind knowing that their pet(s) are well taken care of.

About

I have four dogs of my own, three dachshunds and one English bulldogs which all require a lot of attention and responsibility. I love pets and am responsible. I am not taking summer classes and would love to pick up something extra to do with my time, especially something I would enjoy like being around pets.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

  • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
  • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
  • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
  • What are your different walk routes?
  • When will you pick up and drop off?
  • How will we communicate?
  • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
  • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
  • How and how often do I pay you?
  • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
