Dahrla has been providing private classes for my daughter twice a week for about 3 months. What started out as general fitness training has evolved into martial arts training as well as fitness. My daughter LOVES it (and has lost weight). She is friendly, competent and reliable. Not to mention flexible in scheduling and reasonable fees. We feel very lucky to have met Dahrla and would highly recommend her to anyone interested in either martial arts training or just needing a personal trainer.
As a recent transplant to the Eugene area, I found myself not only in a new environment but facing challenges with my fitness. I'm 50 yrs and going through menopause, which is code for weight gain. After a few weeks of going to our gym and seeing little changes, I decided to look for a personal trainer. I was looking for a female, preferably one who was older and could relate to my challenges. I didn't have much luck and the ones I did find were too expensive if I wanted to go more than once a week. I found My Trainer Jeff and sent a message. He was quick to respond and VERY affordable. I have been going to him twice a week for 3 months now. My workouts are designed for me and he keeps me challenged. I like that each workout is different and focuses on new muscle groups. I like the one to one focus, Jeff is professional and I feel comfortable discussing areas I would like to focus on and overall fitness goals. I would highly recommend My Trainer Jeff to anyone, female or male any age. I have never been a fan of the big gym setting. Jeff is flexible to accommodate my busy schedule and if I have something that comes up, he is quick to offer a different time to help me out. Jeff is also willing to come to you if needed. My biggest take away is realizing many of the strength training exercises I can do in my own home on the days I don't come to MTJ. Give him a call, you'll be happy with your results.

I came to Alexander to improve my flexibility and endurance, and I could not believe the results. He does this thing called PNF flexibility along with assisted stretching ( he stretched my muscles a little further and futher each session father than I could do it by myself) and the combination of these two regimens made me so flexible i could do a full splits at the end of 3 weeks. The cardio training was very intense and very effective, with a lot of fun workouts. Don't waste your money anywhere else! :)

Physical fitness is an aspect of my life that has traditionally alluded me. I had gone to the gym on and off in the past and in college I thought I really knew what I was doing. However, somewhere between graduating college, working a full-time job, and getting married, I lost the drive and focus needed to maintain an active lifestyle. I soon found myself unhappy with my body and felt lethargic throughout the day. So, I decided to make a change. Over the next year I set nutritional goals and worked on my cardiovascular fitness. After a year of running I was fifty pounds lighter but I had not set foot in a gym. I wanted to go to the gym and work on resistance training. However, in all honesty, I had avoided the gym because I felt as if I needed more knowledge before entering a weight room. Then I found G3 and Henry. Henry gave me a tour of the gym and I was impressed by his positive attitude and how approachable he was. I tried one personal training session with Henry and since that first session I havent had a moment of disappointment. I cant begin to thank Henry enough for helping me reach my fitness goals. Henry creates a positive atmosphere for his clients that help them reach their desired goals. However, possibly even more importantly, Henry helps his clients build a strong sense of confidence while working out. That sense of confidence is priceless when it comes to weight training and I no longer avoid going to the gym. In fact, I am excited every time I go to the gym. Henry constantly provides fresh training regimes that are fun and effective. He has taught me how to work out safely, effectively, and properly. Working with Henry continues to be one of the smartest fitness decisions I have made and I look forward to continuing to train with him in the future.
I started working out with David Odom about a year ago, and what a change this past year has been. David is very knowledgeable about all aspects of fitness as well as health. He pushed me in the gym, and guided me in my nutrition outside the gym. This past year, with the help of David I am in the best shape of my life! He not only coaches you in the gym, but I get friendly reminder text about keeping up the motivation when I'm out doing it on my own. I have worked out with many trainers over the years, but David is hands down THE BEST I've ever been able to work with. David Odom is my trainer for life!!
Zack has such a positive disposition, that it's impossible to not have fun while he's whippin' ya into shape! His knowledge is vast and evident as he's designing a custom workout, and he changes things up constantly to keep you from getting bored. He's also got great experience and advice on getting past some of those psychological blocks we all sometimes get. Wasn't a huge believer in personal trainers, until Zack Belknap!
Suzannah has been such a motivation in my fitness journey. She has adapted work outs to accommodate many physical limitations. I have three young children and she included them in my work outs and even helped wrangle my kids. She is flexible, fun and knowledgeable. Suzannah also helped me with nutrition counseling and checked in with me often to keep me accountable. Hiring Suzannah has benefitted me in so many ways! I couldn't recommend her enough!
I started training with Mike (Better, Stronger, Faster Fitness) about 9 months ago. It has been a great experience. He has a broad repertoire of exercises (most of which dont use machines). This keeps me engaged in what we are doing and Im definitely doing things I would never do on my own. I also find that I push harder and do more that I would if I was trying to do it on my own. I believe the private gym experience is an important factor in my willingness to take risks and push myself (its only trainers with clients there so not a lot of people and no one to judge). Mike is supportive and creates an environment where I feel comfortable trying things that Im not sure I can do. I can identify with Mikes story and I know he can relate to where I am and how hard, frustrating, By taking risks Im achieving more. I do partner training (so I work with a buddy) and Mike works around our crazy, ever changing schedules to make sure we get in each week. Mike also works around our stress and energy levels (as well as injuries) to adjust our workouts to where we are on any given day. Im always sweaty and tired by the end and I always feel like I get my monies worth (and then some). Ive already sped up my 5k time by almost a minute and Ive found muscles in my arms I didnt know I had. If you are considering training I definitely recommend meeting with Mike to discuss your goals and discuss all the ways he can help to achieve them.
Melissa is a miracle worker! I started at Spired with very little background in fitness and strength training; I could hardly do one assisted push-up, I hated sweating, and loathed the idea of a monotonous gym routine. Well, here I am four months later: 36 lbs lighter, dominating 30+ push-ups per session, sweating like a pig (and loving it), and doing anything BUT a monotonous gym routine. Simply put, Melissa makes working out fun. She has always made me feel comfortable and encouraged. Not to mention, her home gym is stocked with a variety of high-end equipment that keeps every workout interesting. I can not thank Melissa or recommend her enough!
After our recent move, I have to say how much I truly miss my trainer, my training sessions, and that constant encouragement. Youre good was the best thing I heard all week sometimes.One of the greatest things about Colt is that he didn't just train me while I was there in Eugene, he developed a set of routines I could do with hand weights and resistance bands. And a set for when I can get a TRX strap, available online. I've been at my daughters in Utah for almost two weeks now, and Ive been running, but I havent pulled out my workout notebook yet. TODAY is the day. Ill probably cry when I see Colts handwriting in it.
