Heather is very nice and thoughtful, and was willing to come to the house to meet my animals as well as get the layout and go over my needs while away. She stayed a couple nights to take care of things and I felt fully confident in her services. She performed well and is completely trustworthy and I felt safe leaving my babies in her hands. Heather is experienced with all types of animals and she also left the house in immaculate condition. I am excited to use her again for house-sitting and pet-sitting services!

We have been using Jana at Phoenix Pet Care for about four years now and we (and our pup Hilo) just love her. She came to us on a recommendation and we strongly agree that she is the best! We like having Hilo be at home while we are gone, and she takes care of everything he needs so that we don't worry about our four legged family member while we are away, though we miss him greatly. And Jana has always been so wonderful about sending photo updates! It's a wonderful service and a wonderful person and you won't be disappointed.

Judy from Pet Professionals has walked every dog I have ever owned (Rudy & Zoey (kennel mates), Sadie and now Cody). I trust Judy with the most important part of my life, my dogs. Not only has she walked them, but she has also given me training advice. Consistency with new pups is very important and her advice is priceless. She has been so flexible, if my schedule changes she adapts for me. My dogs have all loved her beyond belief. I am so fortunate to have found Pet Professionals, buy mostly I am lucky to have found Judy. She is not only the caretaker/walker of my dogs, she has also become a very close friend.

Sit & Stay was my go to pet sitting service for many years until I moved out of state. My kitties always had the best care from Colleen and Carol, I could travel without worring about them. I wish I had a service as good in my current location.

Allison was fantastic! You can tell she really loves animals and we trusted her completely with our pup. She even based her visits on how she felt our dog was doing, and how much attention she felt she needed. Will definitely be reaching out to her again for upcoming travels!

    About

My name is Lisa Bennett O'Halloran, and I am the owner operator of Endless Pawsibilities Pet Care. Plain and simple, I love animals, and I have always wanted to surround myself with them. After many years in the floor covering and design industry, I found myself searching for a more 'soul-fulfilling' career, and I decided to take my own advice that I had given to others... "Find something that you would do for free." I did, and this is it. Thank you for considering me for your pet and home care needs. You'll find that I offer a number of services from dog walking, waste removal, in-home pet care, as well as a host of other pawsibilities. I will treat your pets as if they were my own, so please visit my website for more detailed information and service areas. Thank you for your time. Lisa

    About

My name is Tia Collins, and I want to make a career out of pet walking and pet sitting and am going to school to be a vet tech. I have been an animal lover my whole life. Presently, I have seven dogs and four cats, two large breed, and five small breed. My husband and I have no children of our own, so our animals are our children. I have had many aging dogs in my lifetime, and my oldest lived to be 18 years old. I have been a CNA since 1988, so that expetience comes in very handy as well as knowing animal CPR. So, if you are looking for a loving, caring, compassionate person to take care of your dogs or cats, give me a call.

I am a housecleaner and a nanny. I also take care of pets and do yard work. My career began at the age of 13 when I became a certified children's storyteller in the organization of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and also in the same year, gaining another certificate for taking classes for babysitting children. I have been hired many times for housecleaning and yard work, which I love, and pet care, which I have always looked forward too. I am very motivated and I love to take care of others and their things and possessions. I work hard everyday to meet every needs that I can and to bring as many smiles as I can to the faces of others.

She is very gentle and playful that I can guarantee your pet/s will love her. We live in Mountain Park in Lake Oswego and surrounded with amazing parks, walkways and lakes that are dog friendly.

    About

We are animal lovers! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and if space allows, we would continue to grow our numbers. We love walking our dogs, getting outside, and just spending time with our animals. Your dog doesn't have to be great on a leash, because we too have been there and are able to handle the dog in a positive manner. We are also willing to dog watch/house sit. We would not stay at your house but can stop by several times a day to spend time with your animals and take them out on walks. We have experience with all types of animals: dogs, cats, birds, fishes, snakes, and hamsters. We are professionals first and foremost (I am an RN and my partner is a sales representative). We have very flexible schedules that allow us to meet your needs!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
