Jesse is not only exceedingly knowledgeable but he obviously cares a great deal about the student's progression. His energy and enthusiasm are inspiring and he is talented beyond his years. I feel quite fortunate to be able to take voice lessons from a teacher of this caliber.
I have been in choirs and in various other musical settings for 12 years and have experienced many different teaching styles. When I initially started individual voice lessons, I was with an instructor who had a "one teaching method, fits all" approach to teaching. After about 4 months of lessons, I gave up and began looking for a new instructor... someone who would identify my weak points and help me develop a stronger, more balanced voice. After many, many initial interviews, I was very discouraged... until I met Emily. Emily invests in her students. She came up with a daily vocal routine specifically tailored to me and remained in constant communication with me about any questions I had. Not only is she continuously helping me identify my struggles and build technique but she also has taken the time to show me that I have many options of making it as a serious musician. Because of her, I am in the process of re-evaluating my whole academic plan. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing, talented, and skilled instructor! I am learning so much from her continuously!
My daughter is 12 years old and absolutely loves working with Judy Malings for her voice lessons. It's been over 1 year now and I've seen incredible singing improvement and on-stage confidence in her. Judy is talented, organized, and truly cares about maximizing the voice sessions for her students benefit. Judy's singing showcase events are very professional and fun. They're a wonderful display for parents to see the amazing progress in their kids singing talent. Judy Malings is a great mentor for music and voice!
I have been taking singing lessons with Alisdair and he is great! I've made significant progress in my singing, and his teaching technique is extremely effective, and is different to other vocal coaching I've received in the past. He is reliable, on-time, and was willing to start lessons right away.
Sofia is very knowledge and takes the time to make sure students understand the ideas and mechanics behind her training and how their instrument functions. I've taken professional voice lessons before abs she is as good or better than my previous teacher. I'm looking forward to many more lessons with her!
I have had 2 singing lessons so far from Eleni. I feel that I am improving already! She is very skilled and observant and can see quickly where I am holding tension and help guide me how to relax both physically and mentally in ways that instantly effect my voice in positive ways. I am very excited to continue working with her and I highly recommend her as a teacher. She is experienced, highly knowledgeable, friendly and comfortable to be around and effective!!
Does a great job teaching voice lessons to my 14 year old daughter and 17 year old son with Aspergers.
When we arrived for the initial consultation for singing lessons and my daughter saw the piano, she asked if she could take piano lessons first. So, we're now taking piano lessons from Bonnie. I find her to work very well with kids, my daughter is 8, and my daughter likes her and is happy too. She explains things clearly, gives praise when earned, and is helpful and pleasant to work with.
Before I worked with Deanna my singing voice did not feel natural. She has helped me find my true voice. Deanna is that she is keenly focused on your particular needs as a singer, and is able to assist you in reaching your particular goals. Working with Deanna, I gained confidence, strength of voice, as well as greater range.
Helen, was AMAZING, she taught my 6 yr daughter her first piano lesson. We were going to try out a few different teachers, but after meeting her, I have no interest going anywhere else. Thank you for being so friendly and so talented! <3 A few things that were important to me were, 1. She could connect with my 6 year old. 2. That she could teach syllabus. 3. That she has opportunities for her students to perform during the year. She met all three of those. :)
My 4 year old son and I get lessons from Nyssa. I do voice. I have learned a lot from Nyssa. She is very knowledgeable, patient and so encouraging! My son is doing Wunderkeys(preschool piano)with Nyssa. He has limited motor skills and this has really helped him make great progress. I see growth in that he is doing things with his hands that he had trouble with in the past. She works really well with him as well. My husband calls it my son's "occupational therapy." I would recommend her 100%
I took voice lessons with Joannah for over two years while she had a studio in Boston. My vocal range, support, tone, and expression all improve. She freely shared her enthusiasm and love of music. I highly recommend Joannah!
Kelsey is an absolutely wonderful voice coach. I have worked with her both in company shows and for individual instruction. She is very patient and kind. But she also knows when to push you so that you are doing your best. She has a vast knowledge of all sorts of music including jazz, Broadway, and opera, and knows what will suit your voice. It's always great to see what she will suggest next. I highly recommend her for both young and not-so-young students.
I started voice lessons with Bre on a bit of a whim, hoping to get brave enough to sing in blues jam sessions. I am so glad I did! My singing and my confidence are improving steadily, in a way that matches my own individual ambition and goals. Bre is also a blast to work with: she is clearly enjoying our lessons as much as I am, and she makes them fun. And here's an added (unexpected) bonus: The breathing techniques I'm learning from Bre to improve my singing are also a totally amazing stress release!
She is amazing as a voice teacher for both myself and My 10-year-old son! Easy going but knows her stuff. We look forward to many more lessons in the future!
Hello, my name is Alexander. I teach general healthy singing technique, supported by current vocal science, which can be applied to any style of music. I have a Masters in Music from the University of Southern California where I received training in opera performance, music theory, and vocal pedagogy. With over 10 years of performance experience and 4 years of teaching students of all ages, I am confident we can turn your voice into something you are proud of. I work with new students to establish proper breath support, healthy vocalization, and resonance for a solid foundation that will make singing in any style painless and easy. With these new habits, you will find your range increasing, your breath lasting longer, and your voice sounding richer and louder. As we progress, we will learn new songs in a variety of styles to expand your repertoire, explore singing in other languages, and create opportunities for you to perform and show off your new skills! I also offer Music Theory, College Prep for Musicians, Diction Coaching, Voice Acting, and other lessons at the same rate, contact me for details.
I've been a student with Jena for a bit more than two years now and it has been an absolute joy! She is both extremely personable and extremely knowledgable in teaching voice. My aspirations have only been able to feel more at ease in singing but, as I've told her on more than one occasion, my lessons have turned out to be therapeutic for me. No matter what my mood is when I arrive, I always come out feeling better about myself and the world. It's amazing!
I teach private voice lessons and vocal coaching in a technology-equipped studio. I can teach classical, pop and Broadway styles.
I have a varied musical background. I have played and taught Jazz, Pop, Standards, Classical, Broadway/Musical Theater, Madrigal, Mariachi, Country, Church, Gospel, Blues, and Rock music. At the intermediate and advanced levels, I work with the students on the type of music they like to learn.
I have had over 10 years of teaching experience and am currently working on Doctorate of Music Arts degree on a Teaching Fellowship and Full Scholarship at the University of Oregon, where I have a successful voice studio. I also teach piano and am proficient in playing and accompanying my students for their voice lessons. In addition, I teach students how to read music.
I love teaching voice! Watching students improve on technique lets me know and understand that everything I've worked and studied for over the last 28 years aided in shaping and forming my students!
