Jesse is a great teacher! I was only able to take about five lessons, hopefully will be back soon, and made so much progress. He gives you the tools to be able to move forward. He's easy to chat with, and tries to tailor your lessons to what your goal is. He challenges you just the right amount, making sure that you are feeling good while also progressing! I would definitely recommend Jesse for any one looking to take voice lessons!
My daughter is 12 years old and absolutely loves working with Judy Malings for her voice lessons. It's been over 1 year now and I've seen incredible singing improvement and on-stage confidence in her. Judy is talented, organized, and truly cares about maximizing the voice sessions for her students benefit. Judy's singing showcase events are very professional and fun. They're a wonderful display for parents to see the amazing progress in their kids singing talent. Judy Malings is a great mentor for music and voice!
Sofia is very knowledge and takes the time to make sure students understand the ideas and mechanics behind her training and how their instrument functions. I've taken professional voice lessons before abs she is as good or better than my previous teacher. I'm looking forward to many more lessons with her!
Before I worked with Deanna my singing voice did not feel natural. She has helped me find my true voice. Deanna is that she is keenly focused on your particular needs as a singer, and is able to assist you in reaching your particular goals. Working with Deanna, I gained confidence, strength of voice, as well as greater range.
I have had 2 singing lessons so far from Eleni. I feel that I am improving already! She is very skilled and observant and can see quickly where I am holding tension and help guide me how to relax both physically and mentally in ways that instantly effect my voice in positive ways. I am very excited to continue working with her and I highly recommend her as a teacher. She is experienced, highly knowledgeable, friendly and comfortable to be around and effective!!
My 4 year old son and I get lessons from Nyssa. I do voice. I have learned a lot from Nyssa. She is very knowledgeable, patient and so encouraging! My son is doing Wunderkeys(preschool piano)with Nyssa. He has limited motor skills and this has really helped him make great progress. I see growth in that he is doing things with his hands that he had trouble with in the past. She works really well with him as well. My husband calls it my son's "occupational therapy." I would recommend her 100%
When we arrived for the initial consultation for singing lessons and my daughter saw the piano, she asked if she could take piano lessons first. So, we're now taking piano lessons from Bonnie. I find her to work very well with kids, my daughter is 8, and my daughter likes her and is happy too. She explains things clearly, gives praise when earned, and is helpful and pleasant to work with.
Does a great job teaching voice lessons to my 14 year old daughter and 17 year old son with Aspergers.
I took voice lessons with Joannah when she was in Boston and there were a few things that I particularly loved about her teaching manner. First, she's knows a lot about the anatomical aspects of the voice and air support systems, and she brings that into the lesson to explain how singing works and how to sing healthfully. I really appreciated this expertise and transparency about how the body makes sound. Second, Joannah has a very open and non-judgmental approach to her teaching. I always felt comfortable with her trying my best, even if it took a little while to get the sound we were looking for. And finally, Joannah herself is a very talented musician - she has a beautiful voice to listen to and is an inspiration to be around.
Helen, was AMAZING, she taught my 6 yr daughter her first piano lesson. We were going to try out a few different teachers, but after meeting her, I have no interest going anywhere else. Thank you for being so friendly and so talented! <3 A few things that were important to me were, 1. She could connect with my 6 year old. 2. That she could teach syllabus. 3. That she has opportunities for her students to perform during the year. She met all three of those. :)
I highly recommend Tim Smith as a teacher in many areas of music. I am so elated to be taking cello lessons with this fine teacher! Tim is multi-talented and able to challenge me through every level of musical growth. I appreciate his individual teaching style which allows each student to progress at their own personal rate. He is flexible and accommodating with lesson times and his rates are right in line with the local teaching market.
Dr. Judkins is an excellent teacher. Only after a few lessons with him, my son had a significant improvement in ACT reading, from 19 questions wrong to 2 questions wrong in official practice tests. We are looking forward to seeing other big improvements in his future college level lessons with Dr. Judkins.
My Daughter went from never playing an instrument to being proficient on her trumpet in 8 months. Her band teacher is so impressed. Much of her understanding of music comes from her voice and trumpet lessons with Ms. Valardi. She is branching out into piano this summer and has even attempted to write her own solo. A music teacher that understands the excitement of a student and balances that with foundation is a wonderful thing to find. Ms Valardi is just that.
We had piano and guitar lessons a good part of last year and will continue this year for our home schooling students It's fantastic instruction - and we can participate in recitals thru skype as well! It's great for us, we live in WY and MT! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I’ve been seeing Haley for about 2 months now for vocal lessons. She is super professional and helps me so much with finding my voice. I have so much more confidence and skill after working with her. She is extremely talented and I feel so lucky to have her as a coach. She works really hard on helping me find my sound and making me feel comfortable and confident with my voice.
Hello, my name is Alexander. I teach general healthy singing technique, supported by current vocal science, which can be applied to any style of music. I have a Masters in Music from the University of Southern California where I received training in opera performance, music theory, and vocal pedagogy. With over 10 years of performance experience and 4 years of teaching students of all ages, I am confident we can turn your voice into something you are proud of. Lessons are taught out of my studio Southwest of Portland, between Tigard and Lake Oswego, near PCC. I am fortunate to have access to a beautiful, acoustically treated music room, complete with a baby grand piano and recording equipment, as a space for teaching my lessons. I can also travel to students' homes in the surrounding area for an added fee, provided that a piano is available (electric is fine). I work with new students to establish proper breath support, healthy vocalization, and resonance for a solid foundation that will make singing in any style painless and easy. With these new habits, you will find your range increasing, your breath lasting longer, and your voice sounding richer and louder. As we progress, we will learn new songs in a variety of styles to expand your repertoire, explore singing in other languages, and create opportunities for you to perform and show off your new skills! I also offer Music Theory, College Prep for Musicians, Diction Coaching, Voice Acting, and other lessons at the same rate, contact me for details.
I've been a student with Jena for a bit more than two years now and it has been an absolute joy! She is both extremely personable and extremely knowledgable in teaching voice. My aspirations have only been able to feel more at ease in singing but, as I've told her on more than one occasion, my lessons have turned out to be therapeutic for me. No matter what my mood is when I arrive, I always come out feeling better about myself and the world. It's amazing!
My focus although founded in classic and traditional techniques is interdisciplinary in nature through and through. The early beginnings from childhood of a career in performing arts has helped me grow a well rounded palette of voice, theater and dance.
With over 30 years of teaching experience, both privately and in universities, and with performing experience in choral, opera and musical theatre---expertise in childrens voices, ages 7 to 18; preparation for entering college/conservatory. I teach private voice lessons and vocal coaching in a technology-equipped studio. I can teach classical, pop and Broadway styles.
I have been teaching kids not only how to sing but to sing confidently, so they can shine on stage or off.
