My husband I were nervous going into couples counseling. It's often so hard to trust that a counselor will fit, be emotionally intelligent enough to help and understand you. Mike has been wonderful so far, in the first session I knew he was our guy. He is genuinely smart, compassionate, fair and loving. All the things you want when you are in need of help. I reccomend him highly!
Scott wastes no time getting to the core and causes of our issues. After 2 sessions with Scott my husband and I, who recently moved to Portland, learned more about ourselves and each other than we had in a year with our previous counselor. Scott not only can relate to us, he offers professional research-based advice and strategies as well as recommending several quality books that have inspired both of us to become better people. Because of this we are working on ourselves everyday, not just when we meet with Scott, and our relationship has strengthened immensely. I highly recommend Scott- counseling is his obvious passion and he is commited to helping his clients.
My experience with Terry Daggett was one of the best of my life. We really clicked as a therapist/patient couple. It's possible if I wouldn't have met Terry, I wouldn't have any kind of relationship with my mother... but today she is my best friend. I never thought that to be possible. Terry helped me look inside myself and at relationships to help make them better. Amazing work. Wish I was still near her to see her today.
We loved our premarital counseling session with Jessi. She was a great resource for us as we prepared to enter married life!
Working with Clear Heart Counseling was a rewarding experience for me. I felt respected and genuinely cared for during my time there. A high level of comfort and safety paved the way for trust are relationship building. I grew a lot from my time at Clear Heart because I felt accepted and not judged. It is amazing what the right amount of support and gentle challenge can do.
We found Kate while my wife and I were looking for a marriage counselor. We were a little skeptical at first since we could not find many reviews for her. We took a chance and decided to get in contact with her and we were extremely happy with the results. We felt comfortable with her from the moment we sat down at our first session. She has been doing this for many years and it shows in her professionalism. She does not take sides and helps us to communicate open with one another so we can see each other’s views and concerns that arise between us, making it easier to calmly discuss and resolve conflicts. If you are curious about marriage counseling I would strongly recommend Kate.
Jay was the officiant of our wedding and did our marriage counseling back in 2007. We were very pleased with his level of preparation and leadership. We also found that the books we used in our discussions were not just helpful, but also a realistic reflection of married life. Now that we have been married for almost 8 years we have certainly experienced some of the things brought up in counseling and they have helped us through some challenges. By the grace of God we have a strong marriage but it certainly was nice to have Jay's support from the beginning. We highly recommend his services!
Aaron is a very compassionate person and counselor. I have worked with him during our training in school and now regularly consult with him on clinical, career counseling, and practice matters. He bring to his work a high level of professionalism and a warm presence that helps me and others feel accepted and grounded. He also brings a playful sense of humor that can help anyone feel a little more light-hearted. I feel very confident in his work, and I regularly refer people to him that want help with career counseling and for other mental health services.
My partner and I are very excited to begin counseling sessions with Angela. We had a free consultation with her and we both loved her! She is very calming, compassionate and understanding. Everything she had to say was very supportive and made us very happy we found her.
I have spoken with a number of different counselors and therapists over the years and have struggled to find someone I connect with. From the very beginning, Sarah helped me outline my mental health goals so that we were working toward the same thing. She even took the time to research the semi-obscure religion in which I was raised so she could understand my upbringing and give me advice based on my values and not hers. She made custom meditation recordings and breathing exercises for me. She worked with me on payment options. When I moved away she accomodated me with phone sessions which are just as good if not better because I can say things which I would be embarrased to in person. She has had a profound impact on my life and holds a special place in my heart. I would, and do, highly recommend her to my friends.
I felt very comfortable.
I came to linn suffering with PTSD and severe anxiety. He immediately understood what I was experiencing! And knew exactly how to help me. Thanks to linn’s Professional skills I was able to get back to reality, my life and more importantly my family. I left the first session with life changing skills and techniques that I now use daily. I’m so grateful for his knowledge dedication and compassion! I would highly recommend linn to anyone in need and especially to everyone I love, should they be in search of help!
As may be found in other therapists, I don't focus on what's 'wrong' with you or try to 'fix' you, rather, I come alongside you in order to help you find or achieve what is missing in your life or relationship, as well as overcome the struggles that burden you.
I offer guidance in God's word. If you want to learn about what God says in his letters to us about food laws, marriage, the coming of the Antichrist, or how-to, you tell me what you want to know and learn. I offer one-on-one or group guidance.
I offer couples counseling and individual psychotherapy services. I use family systems therapy, somatics, and follow the principles of emotionally focused couples work. I work with movement and the body using a somatic and process-oriented approach. In addition, I work with symbolic methods (dreamwork, expressive arts therapy, psychodrama, Gestalt, and movement therapy). I have a background in John Bradshaw's nationally acclaimed teachings on the inner child, codependency, and healing toxic shame with a humanistic, transpersonal, and family systems perspective to heal trauma and addiction.
I bring warmth, genuineness and curiosity to my work, as I seek to understand who you are, what is important to you, and how to partner with you in moving toward a more fulfilling, peaceful life.

I see individuals with anxiety and depression as well as those going through relationship transitions, including divorce. I love working with parents and millennials as well.
With twenty years of experience, I pay a lot of attention to non-verbal as well as verbal communication. This is especially useful in relationship counseling. Non-verbal communication can show sides of ourselves which we may not be aware of but others notice. The good news is that noticing a new side to oneself can lead to welcome change. New sides to oneself can lead the way into change that comes naturally. I notice the difference between change that comes naturally and change that comes with strain. The strain usually isn't sustainable, change that fits ones nature is. I've taught conflict facilitation in Portland State University's graduate facilitation program. I've spent many years developing attitudes and skills which allow us to work through inner and outer conflict.
I have completed a year long internship as well as professional trainings with the M.E.T.A. Counseling Clinic. My counseling work combines the experential and mindful frameworks I learned there with my passion for social justice and my creative outlook.
As a Voice Dialogue teacher, I apply a multidisciplinary approach, integrating creative arts, contemplative practices, archetypal studies, dream process and movement practice in my trainings and private practice. I have also written extensively, including my book, An Introduction to Voice Dialogue: Finding the Benefit of People Who Bug You, and numerous published articles.
