I feel so fortunate to work with Tamauflage for my design and plant curation needs. Her attention to detail, space, aesthetics, texture, and my personality has made my home feel more like the home I've always dreamed of living in. There's no way I could have created such an inviting space on my own. At this point, I share an idea with her and then give her total creative license to implement the design. She asks great clarifying questions along the way, but ultimately, I trust her recommendations - she always come through. Five stars.

We hired Irene to staged a vacant home we had for sale off Cornelius Pass and Baseline. She did Living room, dining, kitchen accessories, back living room, master bedroom and accent pieces in 3 bathrooms. The staging tremendously helped the home sell. We actually had it on the market for a week before with no staging, poor feedback, so we added the staging with new photos and it was a night and day difference. The home sold that week. The only critique I would have is the furniture seemed a little oversized for the living room, but not by much, and all accessories came in groupings of two or three. Which I know nothing about as a regular person. Communication and setup were easy, she cleaned us after staging and destaging which was awesome. We bought and renovated a second home and hired Irene to stage immediately this time when we hit the market. Home sold in 3 days over list. Over 80 people through the open house. I would hire her again.

"I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to hire the Interior Design and Contracting services of Kathryn James of Bluevine Studio LLC. I had just purchased a 1949 unimproved ranch style home in need of full renovation on a tight timeline for my family to move in before school started. The first thing that struck me in working with Ms. James was her intuitive approach to learning about each of the intended occupants, how we live and entertain and translated this into style, budgets and priorities. I was impressed with her high level of organization and resourcefulness in sourcing materials and furnishings far beyond my expectations. She used both pointers and Houzz idea boards to help with easy style and furnishing selections. Ms. James made an otherwise stress-filled process a fun an engaging partnership with beautiful results. She is skilled at not only interior design but also project management and construction renovations needs. She provided creative floor plan alterations, color coordination, materials selection, furniture and room designs, purchasing, extremely tight budget management and selected sub contractors. As a result of the success in my personal home renovation I secured Ms James services for an additional three investment properties. Each project has been on time, on or below budget and beautify executed with ongoing returns. I highly recommend Ms. James for any design or construction project. I continue to refer Bluevine Studio and seek Ms James consulting ongoing."

Leslie helped us divert diasaster not once, not twice, not three - but FOUR times. First, she helped us with the color of the exterior of our home. Then when my husband build a big pergola off the deck, Leslie corrected the awful mistake I was about to make by telling us exactly what to paint the columns and beams. Thank goodness we asked her! Then I asked for Leslie's help in choosing wall colors for our loft condo. It looks fabulous! Lastly, Leslie helped me with a completely new color scheme for our suburban home. Gone are the gold walls and oak. The family room and kitchen now look fresh and contemporary with greys and whites. We LOVE it and so does everyone else who comes to our home. We paint NOTHING without asking Leslie. Her services are very reasonable. She is efficient and personable. I recommend her design services without reservation!

Estelaz Interior Designed redecorated my kitchen, living and dining room. I consider myself skeptical and hard to please as I’m myself a perfectionist however, after sitting with her for the first 15 minutes I recognized she knew what she was doing to the point that I trusted her enough to pick the curtains for the dining room! It seemed she understood exactly what we liked! Gentle, not pushy at all and moreover, very patient and calm to deal with my wife and I who are very hard to arrive to a middle point without fussing when it’s about moving things around the house. Ivonne did not give up on us, but rather knew how to use and combine our different approaches, rapidly grasping on our family style and functionality needs to create the perfect climate for our home. One of her first questions was, “how do you want to feel when you step in to the kitchen”, I never thought feelings would have such an important account in decoration. Very professional, great touch and impeccable finish. I only have good things to say about Estelaz Interior Design work.

Ami was amazing! She helped me sort through 10 yrs of un-dealt with clutter in just a few days and did it in a way that was constructive and helpful... allowing me to understand that the stuff I was hanging onto wasn't my memories, it was just "stuff" and I was finally able to break free from the emotional/sentimental "attachment" I had assigned to certain items. After the clutter was cleared, Ami put her feng shui skills to good use, rearranging and positioning things where they needed to be energetically. It was a liberating experience both mentally and emotionally - not to mention space wise! It feels great to be organized! I couldn't have done it without her! If you're ready to clear the cobwebs from your home or heart - AMI IS THE ONE TO CALL!!

      About

With a broad understanding of the importance of architecture, Elliot has a reputation for making magic happen while retaining or recreating a vintage home's original elements. You imagine your house with a new master bedroom, or a master bath with a marble shower and heated floors. You imagine having a beautifully remodeled kitchen or a second-floor addition. Do you have out-of-stock molding or tile? Elliot will track down the molding that matches the original. He will find the out-of-production tile that's missing from your powder room. He'll strip and refinish wood floors and hot-water radiators. He will fix the big issues, from sagging floors to electrical problems, without compromising the look or feel of your home or your budget. If you're looking to artfully blend the old with the new, the next step is simple; give us a call.

      About

It's the wow factor, especially in re-design projects. We add the pizzazz, the snap, the pop, the interest that goes beyond the typical "nice" home. We create custom pieces too - each home can have stand-out, extra special, and neat items so the owner can say, "Nope, no one else has this!" We work with the client to see if they have an idea that we can help them bring into existance.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does it mean to stage a home?

Home staging is the real estate strategy of decorating your home to be as marketable as possible to your target demographic. Home staging is done by interior decorators and other design pros hired by the homeowner or realtor, prior to putting a house on the market. Think of it as setting the stage for potential buyers to fall more easily in love with their future homes — and to spend top dollar to get them. It’s likely to be worth the investment: The Real Estate Staging Association reports that staged homes spend 90 percent less time on the market than those that are not staged. Home stagers can also be hired even if you’re not going anywhere. Stagers can consult on new layouts for your current home, much like an interior decorator.

Home staging can take place while you still occupy the house you plan to sell, or when the home is vacant. For an occupied home, the home stager will clear out clutter, rearrange furniture, and bring in decor and furniture as needed to create the perfect environment. Usually an occupied home has far too much of the current owner’s personality stamped on it, which makes it hard for prospective buyers to envision themselves living there. A home stager should neutralize and beautify the space. In vacant homes, a home stager will bring in furniture and decor so that potential buyers don’t walk into an empty house, which can be equally hard to imagine living in as a cluttered, occupied home.

How much does it cost to stage a home for sale?

Nationally, the price for home staging ranges between $750 and $1,500. The price varies based on how many rooms in the house need staging, whether furniture and decor are needed or the stager can work with the client’s belongings, whether the home is occupied or vacant, and the sale price of the home. Occupied homes typically cost less to stage as they are already furnished, and can require less time and resources than staging an empty house. The main tasks when staging an occupied home are rearranging and decluttering. Staging an empty house can be more expensive as furniture and decor need to be trucked in, requiring transportation, physical labor and potential rental fees. Here are some examples of average home staging costs:

      • 2-hour consultation: $200, includes DIY tips and guidance.
      • 1- to 2-hour consultation and design session: $250, including written report.
        • Additional design consulting: $65 per hour.
      • 8 hours of staging an occupied home: $800.
        • Hands-on staging involving moving furniture, hanging and moving art, and decluttering.
      • Starting price for staging a vacant home could be $2,200.
      • A home stager may charge 1 percent of the home’s selling price.
