Did an amazing job with a very specific color scheme and party theme. Very easy to work with. LD did not stop twisting balloons for the full hour we had hired him and made the most entertaining creations. Thank you for making our party so special!

We hired Brian to cater an Olympics theme party. Brian really got into the spirit of things and came up with a super creative idea to make blue rice and blue pasta using food coloring, and he combined them with red and white foods to make a patriotic spread! We had root beer pulled pork, chicken wraps, rice with red peppers and cheese, potatoes, cabbage with turkey bacon, and a very unusual but delicious dish of tomatoes, blueberries, and buffalo mozzarella with a vinaigrette dressing. I would never have thought to combine those things in a dish, but it was great! We really enjoyed Brian's enthusiasm, creativity, and engagement throughout the whole planning process. We would definitely hire him again.

I just have to say, Thom was very professional , responded to me very quickly & was willing to work with me in anyway. I am sorry to say on my end we had a change of plans to not do any entertainment at our party due to last minute circumstances on my part. But in the future I would definitely contact Thom to do my party even though I didn't have the pleasure this time. Thank you Thom again for your understanding & I look forward to meeting you in the future!

Chef Mike did the catering for our son's barmitazvah in March 2015. It was a pleasure both discussing and refining the final menu for our son's international-themed party as well as to enjoy Michael's elaborate spread that amazing evening. He was most amenable to menu tweaks for our own particular tastes and happy also to accept my suggestions or ideas on dishes. Highly recommend.

I had the best experience ever with the Twisted Apron! I used them for my daughter’s graduation party at my home. My guests are still raving about the beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious fare Christy (and Andrew) provided for my daughter’s graduation party. And the service was fantastic. I had never used catering services before, and researched a number of caterers for a while. They all charged more and provided less. I’m so glad I went on Thumbtack and found Christy! A+ on: responsiveness/attention to detail; professionalism, keeping a super-calm atmosphere; beautiful presentation; accommodation of specific requests; delicious yet uncomplicated food (as requested); providing tents/tables/chairs; arrival time & set-up, take-down etc. I truly could go on & on.

She did a fantastic job taking a party theme and creating delicious, gorgeous baked goods that the kids completely devoured! She was present for the entire party to help with serving food, coordinating games, and ensuring everything ran smoothly.

I've hired Colleen for every birthday party for all 3 of my children. I give her a theme and she takes my daughters idea and create a space of their dreams. She always is three steps ahead of planning.

          What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

          • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
          • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
          • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
          • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
