Looking forward to learning singing with technical knowledge.
We have been students of the Piano Workshop for 7 years. Mark, the director, does a great job at matching students with teachers and is very accommodating to work with scheduling lessons especially with families that have very full schedules. We enjoy the recordings done at every recital and they make a good teaching tool as well. There are lots of teachers of various disciplines so students of all musical talents can benefit at the Piano Workshop. It's a professionally run outfit that I would recommend to all families.
Arturo Spinetti is an extraordinary teacher. I have studied opera with him for almost 5 years now and the progress we have made together is incredible. The technique Arturo teaches is founded on a series of 5 exercises which are designed to strengthen and expand your natural voice. Whether you see him once a day or once a month, if you do these exercises you will get better! Since beginning with Arturo a few years ago we have expanded my upper register by almost an octave and dramatically strengthened my middle register. I sing more easily but my voice sounds bigger and darker. Arturo is an extremely knowledgeable teacher who has both taught and performed at the highest level. Many teachers nowadays dont have performance experience, yet we still expect them to get us to the highest level of singing. Well Arturo has been there! And as the leading tenor! He has sung all over the world- Italy, Japan, Germany- you name it! He has actually lived the life- he knows what he is talking about. What makes him an even better teacher though is his experience in pretty much every vocal genre. Before becoming an internationally acclaimed tenor he sang and played rock and roll in a band. This experience has only added to his understanding of voice and makes him an ideal teacher for any genre. In addition to all of theses things, what most sets Arturo apart from any other teacher I have studied with is his uncompromising dedication to his students. Arturo is not only your teacher but your biggest supporter and most loyal friend. No matter what your vocal goals are I highly recommend him as a teacher. There is no one better suited to get you to where you want to be.
What amazes me about Joe is his in-depth knowledge of music. After getting to know him you realize how hes nurtured this knowledge. Hes been learning and teaching music his entire life both at the collegiate level and at the personal level. The best treat is then to see him exhibit these years of training when he plays live. His expertise crosses many genres although I enjoy his jazz music the most. Treat yourself and see him play live throughout the Lehigh Valley.
My teenage son has been enjoying Danton's classical guitar teaching for the past two years. In this time, he has greatly matured in his playing skills and understanding of music theory. Danton challenges his students in creative and fun ways, making lessons a pleasure. He includes the student in selecting music, being sure to advance the student's skill level without overwhelm the student. He is professional, engaging, and friendly. Additionally, his ability to come to my home for lessons saves me time each week. Certainly, he is a very talented musician whom I eagerly recommend for all styles of piano or guitar instruction.
Miss Macri is an incredibly professional and educated teacher. I take voice and piano lessons with her and could not be happier. It has been a dream of mine to be able to perform in front of others. Miss Macri is patient and encouraging as I try to sing and play piano at the same time. After a year of lessons I just played my first open mic and received compliments from my family, friends and even a few strangers!!! So I would definitely recommend Miss Macri to anyone interested in starting or honing their music skills!
Jake Stamatis is an excellent instructor for voice lessons. Since day 1, He is able to adjust his instructions to his students to where they would benefit the student the most. He has helped me find comfort in singing with my voice and helping me differentiate between singing and screaming. I have been taking lessons from Stamatis for several months and I can say that I have improved dramatically since my first lesson with Stamatis. It was inconceivable for me to think that I could ever have vibrato, but after rigorous training during and in my own time, I am understanding how to use vibrato through the use of breath. I honestly do not think that I would have gotten this far without the help of Stamatis. I did not think that I would be comfortable with my singing voice, but Stamatis has largely affected my perspective. Also, he's a jokester so beware for his jokes. Overall, I enjoy having Stamatis as my instructor.
Siobhan’s awesome! She’s the real deal. Knowledgeable in her craft, and easy to work with. She based our initial lesson around what my expectations and desires as a singer are . She listened to where I am and is working to expound on that. I absolutely found improvement in my vocal ab
I went to Debra for voice lessons, she is an amazing teacher. She really helped me grasp concepts and helped me improve my vocal performance in a way I never imagined. She is a great teacher and I reccomend her for anyone looking to serisiosly improve their singing ability.
Jed instructed me in guitar and voice lessons. Jed is a great teacher - I learned a lot from him and he helped me to understand the parts of music that were confusing to me before. I appreciated his encouraging, laid back demeanor. He was never late to a lesson and was very accommodating with his schedule. He is extremely knowledgable of his field and I would recommend him to anyone!
For the past year, I've been Mariah Kaplan's singing teacher. She came to me with a strong background, but people can always get better. She truly loves singing and teaching. She cares about doing everything right, not just for herself, but for what she can give to her students. She sees each student as an individual, with distinctive needs, goals, and problems. She genuinely likes her students. When they work hard, she's their biggest supporter. When they have problems, she'll use every resource she can find to help them. She never settles for good enough. She knows they can do better, and if that means she has to do better, she figures out how to do that. It's exciting to work with a student like Mariah Kaplan, and I know she passes the excitement and joy that she brings to her own lessons on to her students. Anyone would be lucky to work with Mariah Kaplan.
All of my children have taken music lessons here- they’ve learned new instruments and continue to play.
It went well. Very patient with the children choir and very professional.
I teach healthy vocal technique that is necessary for successful singing in all musical styles. This is done in an encouraging environment where students enjoy discovering their unique voice and how to use it in multiple styles of music. All ages and abilities are welcome for individual or group instruction.
Ive studied voice with a number of teachers, including some in New York who teach Broadway and opera professionals. John Peters is by far the most knowledgeable and effective I have ever seen. John can, of course, act as a coach to help you prepare for auditions and performances. But John's unique strengths are that he really understands how the body works to produce good sounds, and he knows how to communicate to his students so they can get it, too. If you are a beginner and its surprising, most of us actually are, even if weve studied with other teachers for years John has a series of exercises to get your breathing and vocal cords working the way they should. If youre an experienced singer, John is uncanny at immediately identifying the flaws in your technique and assigning special vocal exercises that address them specifically. He quickly enlarged my range from barely an octave-and-half to way more than two octaves, got my tone to resonate much more richly, and developed my vibrato into a dependable part of my voice that I could control. I recommend John very highly. He's that very rare vocal professional who is equally at home teaching the whole gamut from rock singing to country music to Broadway and opera "legit" technique. Whether youre a beginner who wants to sound better, or a working professional who wants to take his or her career to the next level, John knows how to pitch his instruction to you as an individual and help you achieve your goals.
Sean is a very energetic and passionate singer! It was a joy to work with him. He puts in time to pick repertoire that you can relate to, but will be challenged by. He is very organized with giving warmups and material to work on outside of lessons.
I've been dancing for 16 years, and a cheer leading member for 13 years. And now I decided to make it as my career.
Students at Studio 31 are encouraged and guided to find the passion and freedom that music offers us. All students are given a program tailored specifically for their learning abilities and interests. We do many performance opportunities during the year, including our last recital at Steinway Hall in NYC.
Your dreams of becoming a singer can become a reality. Seek and you shall find. Make your dreams come true.
I like to view each new student with a fresh attitude and start without a rigid teaching method. I believe that everyone learns differently and prescribe to a meet people where they are at philosophy, if something is not working I am always prepared to present information in multiple ways.
I use to teach music notes to children from ages 5-8 years old. I also use to demonstrate the notes for them on the piano at a music school. I'm also a songwriter, so I can also assist children with generating lyrics and notes to create their own songs according to the notes that their learning. I also love to sing; therefore, I'm able to assist children with singing and tuning their vocals according to the octaves that are played on the piano.
