I agree with the other reviewers on this site, Louis is an excellent teacher! I have been taking bass lessons from him for two months now and have already made a lot of progress. He is extremely knowledgeable and takes many different approaches to address specific needs. Highly recommended.
Amber is wonderful musician and teacher. I started getting violin lessons from her about 5 months ago. I was a complete beginner so I had to start from square one. And, I have yo admit, I found the idea of learning to play the violin really daunting. But I am so happy I found such a great teacher. Amber is always very patient and encouraging. She takes her time and plays along with me during my lessons. I am surprised how much I've learned in such a short time, not only about the violin, but about music in general. Best of all her enthusiasm for music is contagious. My lessons with her are fun and the fact that I'm having fun makes me want to practice even more. My experience with Amber has been so great! I definitely recommend her as a teacher.
He's a great teacher . If people needed lessons he should really help you quite a lot . He is one of the best teachers I have ever seen .
I haven't started my lessons yet but they have been very nice to correspond with so far
I am fortunate to have found a dedicated and professional violin teacher for my two children. Miss Victoria has a great personality and is able to keep them focused and motivated. My daughter was especially taken immediately with her encouraging and supportive approach. Their hand position and technique are much improved since starting with Miss Victoria.

Dorothy played violin for my September wedding ceremony as well as the violin part for our first dance song. She is a true professional and an all around pleasure to work with in any capacity! Her skills with the violin have only increased over the past few years and she is an absolutely beautiful player. I could seriously listen to her playing all day. Additionally, Dorothy was very helpful in picking out the music for the ceremony. I have a lot of experience singing with choirs during Catholic masses but I was overwhelmed by trying to select pieces to use during our mass and wedding ceremony. Dorothy and I Skyped, she played little segments to remind me of the songs and then we made our selections together. Thanks to her guidance, this process was quick and painless. She also worked long distance with the church music director and I heard only positive feedback from the other musicians and church staff. Even with being states away from me and the church, Dorothy pulled off a beautiful set without even breaking a sweat. I can still hear the sounds of her beautiful violin on our wedding day and it brings such joy to think about. If you are considering Dorothy for any project, do not hesitate. She is the best decision you could possibly make!
We have been students of the Piano Workshop for 7 years. Mark, the director, does a great job at matching students with teachers and is very accommodating to work with scheduling lessons especially with families that have very full schedules. We enjoy the recordings done at every recital and they make a good teaching tool as well. There are lots of teachers of various disciplines so students of all musical talents can benefit at the Piano Workshop. It's a professionally run outfit that I would recommend to all families.
Mr. Raval has a special gift for teaching with encouragement, high standards, and clear instruction that inspire his students to achieve. He is very professional, kind and warm. He taught our daughter for 5 1/2 years and is a terrific role model even beyond violin lessons. We recommend him highly and without reservation!
Helen Martin's extensive experience as a teacher has really paid off for me. Her understanding of technique continues to expand my security in performance and she always is able to offer an expressive, musical solution to any question. But her major skill may be in keeping it light. I know that each lesson will present a new challenge and that I will welcome her approach.
We have been thrilled with Sunny! I was looking for someone to teach my 15 year old piano, and was incredibly lucky to find Sunny. In addition to her flexibility she and reasonable rates, Sunny has an incredible educational background and knowledge base. She has been a fun and engaging teacher for my daughter, and her cheerful personality gave her an instant rapport with my teenager. In the few months that she has taught my daughter, I am amazed at the progress I have seen.

Every student is different, so I tailor my lesson plans around the student's specific learning style and needs. Ultimately, my goal is for my students to love music and love playing the violin as much as I do. I encourage students to listen to as much music as they can and if there is ever a specific song or piece they want to I am more than happy to incorporate it into the lesson! For younger students and beginners, I use Essential Elements or Suzuki books. I believe it is important to learn to read music from a young age, so I incorporate that into lessons for beginners. Scales and etudes are also key to providing a strong foundation for young students. A similar approach is also used for adult beginners. For intermediate students I utilize the Solos for Young Violinists books as they provide a nice transition into more extensive solo repertoire. Depending on the need of the student, I might also pick specific pieces outside of the books that I think will enhance their learning. Scales and more advanced etudes are also key. For advanced students, I generally pick suitable pieces from the violin repertoire. I believe the reason we learn music is to be able to play and share it with others, so I like to incorporate duets to play with the student as much as possible. Scales and more difficult etudes are also incorporated.

I have been playing violin since age four and have had the most wonderful teachers, from the former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic to the faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Having recently completed a diploma at the Curtis Institute, I am excited to continue this tradition of violin playing.
