I'd recommend Tony to anyone and would definitely hire him again. He was on time (early actually) and his prices were very reasonable. My kitchen sink wouldn't drain and it turned out that the clog was a long ways down the pipe. In fact, he ended up having to go outside and access the pipe that way. Now the sink works perfectly.

Everything was cleaned up and left better than they found it. Their pricing was very fair and easy to pay options. Would highly recommend these guys to a friend

Don replaced the drain pump in our washer machine as it was broke - washer wasn’t working - and had the parts and knew what he was doing . He also fixed the lid switch . He took a good amount of time to talk to Me on the phone explaining what he does and how he operates and estimate price . Excellent service , highly recommend him . Very friendly and pleasant to work with .

Mike did an excellent job on unclogging my drain in my basement. He was very accommodating with my short notice to get this job done. I placed a request late Friday night, we spoke around 7am Saturday morning. Job completed Saturday late afternoon. I found a local plumber/technician I trust.

Jon was very responsive and was able to come the day after I called. He unclogged all of my drains. The only complaint I have is that he did not clean up after doing the work.

From the moment I spoke to Geno, I knew he was the guy I wanted to work with. My pavement was damaged by a tile contractor and I needed a quick repair as it impacted my drain pipe. Geno was quick to respond to my request, assured me it wouldn't be a problem and had a quote to me the next day. Other contractors said they wouldn't be able to look at it for a few days, let alone do the job. Geno and crew showed up bright and early one morning, did the job with minimal noise and debris and did a thorough job of cleaning up when done. I would definitely use them again for any concrete work I may have.

They were well mannered and efficient. Cleanliness in the work they provided with draining and the removal of my old hot water tank. Installation of the new hot water was a great sight to see and cosmetically pleasing. I would recommend these guys by far!

While big names advertise 24/7 emergency services, they were not available, and this company was. They came at 7 pm Sunday in the pouring rain to unclog our toilet. They were polite, professional, and got the job down quickly. We highly recommend them.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.

Follow these additional tips for confidently hiring a plumber or other skilled professional.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
