We hired Chef Scott last night through Thumbtack for a 22 person full service dinner party. I must mention that we have a discerning group, most of whom would classify themselves as "foodies". Every item Chef Scott prepared was delicious, and our guests raved about the food! Presentation was lovely and served at exactly the right pace for our group. My husband continues to comment on the perfection of last night's dinner. Highlights included bacon wrapped scallops, best spanakopita I've EVER had, risotto to die for, and fillet cooked to perfection. Will never consider hiring anyone else!

Let me start by saying that I have seen the light and my experience with ShefShaun has given me a new appreciation for “brunch”. I had the privilege to host an intimate brunch in my home with the talented Shef Shaun. From the initial inquiry, ShefShaun was extremely professional and prompt in his correspondence. ShefShaun menu consulting was incredibly distinctive and exclusive. My brunch included an array of delicious foods that was presented buffet style, which made it convenient and easy for my guests to indulge. Everything was not only amazingly flavorful, the food & libations were all beautifully arranged and presented, so much that I almost did not want to eat/drink. ShefShaun passion about his craft was colorfully exhibited in his food preparation, education and presentation which was crisp, ambrosial and savory. So let me get to the real… ShefShaun created a unbelievable mouthwatering menu: Crab Cakes w/ Spicy Mango Emulsion & Cucumber Salsa, French Scrambled Eggs w/ Truffle Butter, Challah Almond Toast (trust me you have to try this), Grilled Asparagus w/ Peppers, Berry Crepes w/ Orange Bourbon Syrup (AMAZING), Caramelized Grapefruit/Kiwi/Pistachio/Pomegranate Salad and Seasonal Fruits. Last but definitely not least, Braised Oxtails w/ Smoked Cheddar Grits (this was truly the show stopper and the star of the brunch)! And what’s a brunch without- a Champagne, Mimosa & Bellini Bar. ShefShaun provided some sparkling libations including: Spiced Pear Bellini, Honeydew Bellini, Raspberry Dragon fruit Bellini. Forget the phrase hands down, this brunch was all forks down (and up lol) ... every selection, bite and sip was five-star! My favorite selections from the brunch included: the berry crepes with orange bourbon syrup, crab cakes and challah almond toast. And of course the star of the show: the Braised Oxtails & Smoked Cheddar Grits (classic, comforting and nostalgic). This dish was like Caribbean meets Southern fusion; it had all the right textures and flavors and it sent my palate right back home to Brooklyn to my West Indian grandmother’s kitchen table. Overall, I would describe my brunch and experience with ShefShaun in one word: Epic! ShefShaun provided delicious food, a professional & accommodating experience, and a perfectly serviced intimate brunch. The fantastic combinations that Shef Shaun put together and his prepared to perfection menu were impossible to resist, and I think that that was clearly apparent by all of the cleaned plates at the end of the brunch. And despite the fact that all of my guests could not stop themselves from cleaning their plates, the speed and care that ShefShaun demonstrated in the post-brunch clean-up was beyond my expectations, and very thoroughly appreciated. The entire cost of the brunch was very reasonable. ShefShaun offered a higher quality cuisine and better experience than some well-known eateries I have patron. In addition, Shef Shaun service is unparalleled to any that attempts to bring such class and taste to a private party with appreciative palates. Overall, I would described my brunch and experience with ShefShaun as followed: indulging food + sparkling libations + exceptional service = Happy & Heartily Client & Guests. After Thought: By the end of my brunch, I was already thinking of my next event and ready to retain Shef Shaun for his services to create another epic experience! I had a last minute cancellation with my previously scheduled caterer and Art saved the day with his ability to pull together a meal for our school field trip in just two days. I appreciated the quick replies, his calm and kind attitude, and the quality of the meal he brought. We were trying to focus on creating a healthy, family style lunch to encourage our kids to make more sustainable food choices in the future and Art's meal was a hit with them! We chose Bill for catering our family thanksgiving dinner. We had lots of family coming in from out of town the weekend prior to thanksgiving and some folks are ill. We just didn’t have it in us to do the traditional dinner ourselves. We also had dietary restrictions. Bill completely understood and put out a great meal with many little extra touches. He was punctual, clean, neat, professional, prepared. Everything nicely laid out, all dietary requests followed perfectly. Everyone was so thrilled with the service. Bill is a warm person and so likeable! We will definitely use him in the future.
